The OEM wheels are Enkei and very light for an OEM wheel. Brembo brakes up front. Red rear calipers. Momo steering wheel. Closer gear ratios. Helical LSD. Light flywheel. Seam welded chassis, Almost no sound damping (can only think of the foam pieces in the rear arch under the speakers). HID headlights. Alloy pedals. No vanity mirrors. Recaro seats. Front and rear strut bar. Bigger sway bars. All bushings are solid. The DC5 came in 3 versions; A Pack - Tinted glass, B Pack - Tinted Glass and electric folding mirrors, C Pack - Tinted glass, electric folding mirrors and rear wiper. Parcel shelf, push start and modulo lip kit were optional extras. These are what I can think of off my head. I believe about 80kg lighter than Type S.
Nice review mate... let me correct you in some pleases... 1. DC5 Type Rs never came with fog lights 2. the engine is the K20A not the K20A2 Again nice REVIEW.... :)
You did not remind the seat belt label..in here Malaysia we check the seat belt label if we want to know its the real type r or not..coz here to many type S 90% convert Type R...
Type S has factory 17" wheels as well, right? Mine is a 2005 with factory 17's. I'm in the USA. Maybe our Type S is different. Are you in Canada? Yeah you must be in Canada. The USA type S is more similar to the Type R than the Canadian Type S.
There is quite a few differences between the JDM and USDM versions...The biggest pain in my mind is the seat belt buckles, the US versions are different and make it hard to swap to the Recaro seat and lower rails... Australia was pretty much the same as JDM except for the Brembo's due to pricing (42k car already) and higher compression motor at 220hp.
