Was the Integra Type-R the Last Great N/A Legend from Honda? | DC2 x DC5 

Owned a DC2R and while I do like the look of a DC5 and yes a K20 is simply a better stock engine....I am sorry the Vtec Crossover on a B18c is music to the ears not to mention how they sound up at redline.

I used to really dislike the dc5 chassis. I owned a few gsr’s in my 20’s. Two that were b18c5 swapped and one with a full jdm front clip swap. I was die hard dc2 until I drove a bolt on dc5r in Florida for a week on trip. It was love at first drive. With a full ohlins coil over setup on spoon wheels, a mild cam with springs, retainers and port and polishing, this thing sang to 9k and the added torque was a much appreciated addition. With only 250-ish hp, it was a backroad beast.

Dc2 will always be my favorite.

Personally I like the look of the DC5 more. But never driven a Type R model. 😢😢😢 I would like to experience one of these DC5 - R models one day. Anybody got stories to share of both platforms?

Dc2 and Dc5 are race cars for the street, engine, chassis, gearbox, brakes, seats, etc, you just can't get anything like this unless you go Gt3 Porsche and crazy money...

I own both a 02 Integra Type S k24 turbo and a 2000 Integra DB7 and I love them. 2 totally different driving experiences to say the least but I love the simplicity and reliability of them. Great great cars!

the dc2 is the better chasis but the dc5 is the better engine dc2's sound iconic, but the dc5 can sound unique with the k24 frank setups ideally, both; if you can only get one, get the one you can since theyre becoming more and more rare to find in decent condition

The DC5R is my favorite as I’ve owned 2 tax’s just like the way they look just sucks how much more time and effort goes into them for handling but it’s a great daily

Owned both, a blue DC5 (c-pack blue seats) and a 98 spec DC2 in CW. Miss the hell out of both of them.

Live in the UK and own a Dc5 type r its been garaged since 2018 due to my financial situation, i was never going to sell it 😅 this summer its finally coming out again to be used and shown the love it deserves cant wait 😁

I used to own a DC5R....it just doesn't compare to the DC2R....it's so much more nimble & more fun to drive....I do believe the DC2R is lighter than the DC5R but the thing that makes the K20A special is that the engine itself is lighter than than B18C despite the increase in displacement.

How is Honda able to do this? Because that’s what Honda does 😎

When the RSX came out, I did a direct comparison with my DC2. The RSX was longer, taller, and narrower. The car was not as fun to drive as the DC2. The engine/trans do have more potential, but it's definitely not as rewarding to drive as the DC2 in stock form.

I own a 92 civic eg with the B18C. All original Cali car too. I wouldn't trade this beauty for the world. K motors will always be king. No doubt. But the B series is what made Honda performing cars today. And nothing beats revving to 9K. 9KALLTHEWAY!

Dc5 owner here and I have to admit, the Dc2 is a better chassis. But, the Dc5's K20A is leaps and bounds ahead of the B18C. Not to say I don't love the sound of the B series' crossover into Vtec, but I prefer the K20. Dc5 with a few simple mods is a far better car, I'd only get a Dc2 to dump a K24 into it. Looks wise I think both look incredible for their time but the Dc5 still looks very modern to me. Peace!

The 05-06 rsx-s is the closest to the type R variant. The k20z1 shares most its parts with the K20a-R aside from compression differences. The Type R also had factory tune for 100+ octane gas. One of my goals is to install the Type R suspension brembos and wheels on my 06 type s.

she said her car its imported, i live in the states and i have a 2003 rsx base model and was made in japan , i notice going to the yunk jard , that most of the hondas or acuras there are made in the states , its weird maybe the quality of production its better in japan or the materials, definitely acura integras in the 90s were the best engine and they turn the DC5 into a basic car , and the civic and other hondas and acuras with a better engine k204 and DC5 base model k203 even a honda civic with more powerfull engine , thanks for the video im from MEXICO but i have some canadians friend who are the best.

Dc5 bumper fitment is killing me.

DC5 is like an Golf to drive, cumfy and rafined, power commes progressively, DC2 is race car for the street homologation car, has violent cross over and lighter, all suspension are double wishbone witch is way better then standar Mcpherson suspension used by Golf or cumfy cars

Tested drive this 2 bad boys, DC5: Great power, higher torque, but handling, balance, cornering wise wasn’t so good UNLESS you invest lots of money in it. DC2: B series VTEC kick a lot stronger than K series, power of course not as good as DC5 but still pretty competitive. Handling, balance and cornering better than DC5.

The Type S in my opinion is kinda in a weird place, its not too comforting and also has essentially what the 2023 CTR.

Nobody in the import scene stateside rocked with the RSX when it came out. Too expensive to buy, no aftermarket support, and the aftermarket parts available carried a huge premium due to the fact the car came from Honda's luxury brand Acura.

The reason the DC2 vtec pops louder is actually a bad reason; because of the difference in cam profile. The K20 being a better engine with more tq because its not as weak as the B18 outside of VTEC. The VTEC pop is a nice sound but it actually is not desired if you want your engine to make the most power it can. As it gets tuned properly for power that VTEC pop shouldn't be as audible; you want a smooth transition to VTEC.

didn't see your new integra review, but it is a pos. it looks like a chevy malibu. with a motor worse than a chevy malibu. that has internals weaker than a honda d16 (rod bolts, rods, etc.). the car is hot trash.
