I agree with that, Henry Cavill is my favorite Man of steel actor to this day, but one thing i wish they did with movie was to do first the flashback scenes after he arrives to earth from krypton and then continue with his story, but hey it is how it is, the movie it self is not bad at all and Hans zimmer score in this movie is so friking epic
I appreciate how objective, articulate, yet honest and passionate you were about the tier list ranking, as well as being on point for most of it! If you ask me, Ambitious but heavily flawed is the best way I would describe the DCEU, since this cinematic universe is very inconsistent in tone, quality, the timelines, and vision due to the behind the scenes studio intervention, and creative decisions that not anyone is on board with. With that said, I'd say Zack Snyder's JL is the best movie of the DCEU, and I'm torn with which of the franchise is worse, either Suicide Squad 2016 or Jossitice Wheage.
this is the tier list for dc, my gosh perfect everything i have been waiting for this i needed it. thought i was literally the only person that enjoyed these movies the backlash THE FLASH is getting is beyond me i just feel like dc is always been an almost immediately panned franchise for idk what reason but 100% agree with everything i needed this thank you sean chandler. i’m just happy there is another person that feels the same about the recent dc movies. ❤❤🎉
I’d go: S Tier: Snyder’s Justice League, The Suicide Squad (Gunn) A Tier: Shazam!, Peacemaker, Man of Steel, Wonder Woman B Tier: The Flash, Aquaman C Tier: Shazam! Fury of The Gods, Black Adam, Birds of Prey D Tier: Batman v Superman, Josstice League, Wonder Woman 1984 F Tier: Suicide Squad (2016)
I remember being so sceptical about ZSJL because I didn't like his other DCEU movies and only watched it because of your review, but once I finished the film I said to myself "yeah... This is how comic book movies of epic scale should feel". It's one of the best DC movies of all time
Man of Steel, Wonder Woman1 are still the DC standard for me. And BvS is my all time guilty pleasure for sure. ZSJL is the culmination of those movies.
Infinity War is one of my all time favorite comic book movies ever, but I would say I preferred ZSJL to Endgame. (yeah, I'm one of those weirdos who didn't like Endgame :p )@@domymbd
Great video dude! Just saw The Flash last night and thought it was superb. Man I tell you what, I friggin love your hair. I want to see a video of how you style it like it. Friggin awesome! 😊😊😊
Here’s my ranking 15. Justice League 2017-A movie that shows some of the absolute worst of blockbuster filmmaking and studio meddling which makes for an absolutely disgusting film that’s basically unwatchable 14. Suicide Squad-A classic example of WB micromanaging way too much in this phase of this franchise, which makes for a movie with deeply flawed story, storytelling, villain, and action 13. Wonder Woman 1984-While I respect the heights that Patty Jenkins was trying to reach, it’s undone by the lack of rules and logic that really cheapens the story, themes, and payoff of what the movie’s trying to do As a point of reference, I would go positive on the rest of these movies 12. Black Adam-It’s certainly delivering surface value entertainment, but there’s enough of that surface value entertainment that works for me, so I can still have a decent time with this film 11. Shazam! Fury of the Gods-Even though it loses quite a bit of the charm of the first film by going bigger with the action and villains, it still provides enough emotion and humor to make for a fairly enjoyable, but generic superhero movie 10. The Flash-Despite having plenty of very questionable CGI, it’s an enjoyable comic book film that has well handed action sequences, solid humor, touching emotional moments, and a very good performance from Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash 9. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Ultimate Edition)-This is definitely a flawed film, but I still enjoy the Ultimate Edition for its ambition, action, themes, and having Affleck’s Batman being introduced and the continuation of Cavill’s Superman 8. Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn-I know that this movie really doesn’t work for a lot of people, but because of its storytelling, action sequences, characters, and style, this movie works pretty well for me personally 7. Aquaman-It’s by no means thought provoking or complex, but it delivers enjoyable comic book movie entertainment and performances that I enjoy every time I watch this film 6. Shazam!-Despite being a bit inconsistent in its tone and the villain not fully working, the movie delivers a lot of humor that lands very well and a lot of heart that really reinforces all of the humor very well 5. Wonder Woman-While the movie fizzles out in the third act, it’s still a great movie that has a great performance from Gal Gadot and a lot to say about hope and mercy in a broken world 4. Peacemaker-A TV series that shouldn’t have been all that interesting or enjoyable, but Gunn’s ability to make any character compelling while having his humor and mean streak makes this a show that I genuinely love 3. The Suicide Squad-Once again, James Gunn crafts a film that has plenty of hyperviolence and crass humor, while having a massive heart at the center of it, which makes for a movie that I love every time I watch it 2. Man of Steel-A fantastic 21st century version of the Superman character that has a great cast, great aesthetics and action from Snyder, and a very compelling story and themes that pulls it all together 1. Zack Snyder’s Justice League-A superhero epic that’s infinitely better than the 2017 version because of its fantastic world building, complexity, character arcs, and storytelling, which makes for a movie that’s absolutely deserving of the Justice League title
Very fair rankings! I didn’t realize how similar our movie tastes were on the DCEU side. A shame what’s happened to the universe but maybe we’ll see it some other time
14. Suicide Squad- Unwatchable 13. Justice League- Also unwatchable but has a few fleeting moments of some sort of fun 12. Black Adam- Everything I don't want in a superhero movie 11. Batman V Superman- Ambitious but none of the ideas here work for me 10. Wonder Woman 1984- Has moments I enjoy but just does not work 9. Shazam: Fury Of The Gods- Has a few cute moments but just so bland 8. The Flash- Great first half, completely fell apart in the second half 7. Aquaman- Incredibly stupid but its honestly a really fun time 6. Man Of Steel- Can appreciate a lot of parts, doesn't fully work as a whole but I still like it 5. Wonder Woman- Really good, not a great ending but still is really good 4. Zack Snyders Justice League- Bloated, but there is a lot that works 3. Birds of Prey: A guilty pleasure for me, so fun 2. Shazam- A refreshing, simple superhero movie 1. The Suicide Squad- An absolute blast
I AGREE WITH YOUR FLASH OPINION!! Everything, every little detail you catch is just so accurate. You never fail to perfectly describe these movies. I always love your opinions and ambition
My tier ranking: S - The Suicide Squad, Aquaman, Peacemaker A - Shazam, Wonder Woman, Zack Snyder’s Justice League B - The Flash, Shazam: Fury of the Gods, Wonder Woman 1984 C - Black Adam D - Man of Steel F - Batman v Superman, Justice League, Suicide Squad
Out of all the DCEU movies, Shazam! has to be my favorite. There are other good ones like The Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, and so forth, but this one just really works for me. It's funny, charming, a fun time, and has a ton of heart. Heck, out of all the DCEU movies, it probably has the most heart to it. Loved this one since its release and I'll continue to love it.
This is also my favorite dceu film. It has heart and levity and some fun action. I love it. For some reason the sequel didn't live up to it for me unfortunately.
My ranking: 1: ZS justice league 2: The suicide squad 3: The Flash 4: man of steel 5: Aquaman 6: Wonder Woman 7: Shazam 8: BVS 9: Birds of prey 10: Black Adam 11: Shazam fury of the gods 12: WW 84 13: Josstice league 14: suicide squad
Thanks for your video Sean… another great effort!!! Very accurate tier ranking my friend… I have the flash in the great group, and many people who don’t like it much now will warm up to it 👍👍👍
@@LouieR.4682 Probably because the villains and the plot for the second one was a bit lame. I absolutely loved the first movie but found the second movie uninventive and a bit dull. Black Adam being the main antagonist in the second film would have generated the much needed hype for the franchise.
14. Suicide Squad 13. Jostice League 12. Wonder Woman 1984 11. Black Adam 10. Shazam! Fury of the Gods 9. Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice 8. Man of Steel 7. Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) 6. Aquaman 5. Shazam! 4. The Flash 3. The Suicide Squad 2. Zack Snyder's Justice League 1. Wonder Woman
I quite enjoy aqauaman. I think its underrated. Granted the story is prettt generic and some of the underwater scenes, you can tell there on a green screen but apart from that its great. Spot on casting with Jason mamoa, hes awesome in the role. Love william dafoe too. I thought the visuals and action for the most part was incredible. The director shoots action scenes in a very unique way that makes it more immersive
Please more tiers! These are so fun to watch. I love your list. Here is mine of the ones I have seen, in my opinion: 1: Wonder Woman 2: Zack Snyder’s Justice League 3: The Suicide Squad 4: Shazam 5: Man of Steel 6: Birds of prey 7: The Flash 8: Aquaman 9: Shazam Fury of the Gods 10: Black Adam 11: Batman V Superman 12: Wonder Woman 1984 13: Suicide Squad 14: Josstice League (So I have seen most of them, the only one I haven’t seen yet is Peacemaker)
I think whats great about the dceu is that all films are differant and dont follow specific formula. They all offer different sub genres within thsuperhero sifi genre as a whole. Something marvel kinda is lackluster at. Hit or miss all films feel different and have a differant formula
It was a good movie. But weirdly reminds me of josstice league with the weird editing but I definitely would say 7.5/10 alot of really good things in there
Well thought out list. Here's my DCEU - Top Tier: Zack Snyder's Justice League, Wonder Woman, Shazam, Birds of Prey, & The Flash Bottom Tier: Suicide Squad, Josstice League, Wonder Woman 1984, Peacemaker Middle Tier: Man of Steel, Batman V Superman, Aquaman, The Suicide Squad, Black Adam, Shazam Fury of the Gods
Snyder cut is so overrated it's ridiculous, none of the characters were accurate... Wonder Woman puts innocents in danger Flash cares more about simping more than saving people Batman is just weak Cyborg's tech makes no sense Aquaman is a joke and Super Man is barely in the movie even though he's one of the most known Justice League members... Easy 7/10, but definitely far from S tier
Haven’t seen The Flash yet but here’s my ranking: 13. Justice League (2017) 12. Suicide Squad 11. Wonder Woman 1984 10. Shazam! Fury of the Gods 9. Black Adam 8. Batman v Superman 7. Birds of Prey 6. Shazam! 5. Aquaman 4. Wonder Woman 3. Man of Steel 2. The Suicide Squad 1. Zack Snyder’s Justice League
My personal ranking: S tier: The Suicide Squad Great: Zack Snyder's Justice League, Wonder Woman, Man Of Steel, Peacemaker Ambitious/Different/flawed: Birds of Pray, BVS (Ultimate Edition) Safe but fun: Shazam, Shazam Fury of the Gods, Aquaman Bad but fun: Black Adam, The Flash F: Suicide Squad Burning in hell: Josstice League
1. ZSJL 10/10 2. BVS Ultimate edition 9.5/10 3. Man of Steel 9/10 4. Peacemaker 9/10 5. The suicide squad 9/10 Honourable mentions are birds of prey and shazam
*The* *Flash* (after my 2nd viewing) I just finished watching The Flash a second time and it's still great to me. Hasn't degraded. It's now my favorite DCEU film ever! I don't care about it being a box office flop. I'm a guy who loves Wild Hogs and Hot Tub Time Machine, ok? I enjoyed Batman v. Superman more than most people did. I know people who loves Waterworld or John Carter, two of the biggest box office flops in the last 30 years. The Sony PS Vita flopped. It still remains my favorite gaming device of all-time. You shouldn't care what others think of something. What matters is what you feel about it. I got the feelz again in the scene when Barry hugs his mom for one last time. Man, that's more emotional to me than anything I saw from the highly praised GotG Vol. 3. Maribel Verdú was the heart of this film and she's barely in it. She was the heart of And Your Mama Too (2001). I still smiled big when we saw George Reeves, Christopher Reeve, and Nic Cage. I still giggled when we see George Clooney. And I did see my boy, Jaime fookin' Lannister, trying to eat a pizza until younger Barry steals it from him. It's the scene when younger Barry is first testing his powers and his clothes were burning up. Yes, the CGI is pretty bad. I mean like PS2 era CGI. Like Final Fantasy: Spirits Within bad. Good from maybe 20-25 years ago. Not in 2023. The faces on the babies have no texture to them. They had faces of the "Dancing baby" from the mid-late 1990s that was one of the first viral videos ever online. But I was able to overlook that and still had a good time. I do wish they went with the ending with Michael, Sasha, Henry, and Gal at the end. Even with Michael and Sasha would've been more than satisfying enough. But I'm ok with the Clooney one even if all it did was give some people to laugh at. Sasha Calle is so hot! Please give us more of her as Supergirl. I think she needed more screen time. So my feelings after a second viewing for The Flash hasn't changed. Two of my favorite films of this year involves Ben Affleck in it. And after I saw Pearl Harbor (2001) like 22 years ago, I used to think Affleck was a terrible actor. Now he's become one of my favorite Batmans ever next to Keaton. Air is still better than The Flash though. Less glaring flaws. 1. Air 2. BlackBerry 3. The Flash Maybe Tom Cruise is a bad critic for movies, I do not know? But I agree with his take on The Flash. Sure, it's probably out of the theaters in another 2 weeks. Probably make only $5M this weekend. Maybe more people will discover they enjoy it once they see it at home. I know Sean couldn't stand Thor: Love And Thunder. But I've seen RU-vid reactors have a good time watching it at home. The Shawshank Redemption made $28M in its initial theatrical run. I saw it in January 1995 with relatives thinking the movie was going to be so boring. The title sounded boring. Then I walked out of the theater thinking I saw the GOAT film ever. It got "discovered" through rental stores like Blockbuster Video. Maybe The Flash will get appreciated as time goes on? Is it on the level of Shawshank? Hell no. But it's NOT as bad as people might suggest it is. I'll even say I enjoyed The Flash more than The Batman from last year and I thought The Batman was a solid film. A better film for sure and my 3rd favorite from 2022. Is the hate culture with movies by people like Will Jordan ruining our experiences with films? And I love TCD but he's not helping us enjoy modern films similar to Skip Bayless making us hate certain popular athletes like LeBron, Jokić, and Mahomes and he's never played pro sports in his life. Maybe this is really the end for the superhero genre run of dominating the box office? Too much fatigue with them. Almost everything involves a character with superpowers. It no longer feels special. Only redundant. Maybe that's a good thing. The genre can't be great forever and ever. One good thing about The Flash being a box office flop? Not a lot of people in the theater! I prefer emptier theaters. Don't want to catch covid again. There were probably only 6 other people watching the movie when I saw it today. I say The Flash is an enjoyable film but not a super great film. I still walked out of the theater with a big smile on my face.

I’m a huge DC fan but I honestly don’t like any of them but Wonder Woman and The Suicide Squad. The DC animated universe (Bruce Timm and Paul Dini) is my childhood. Batman is my favorite comic book character but not much in this universe did it for me. I’m glad that some have found more positives in it than I did though.
Agree with everything except for Aquaman. I think it belongs in the great tier. The flash was awesome I could put that in the S tier. It was so well done.
DCEU(2010s): Wonder Woman Shazam! Aquaman Man Of Steel Justice League Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice Suicide Squad DCEU(2020s): Peacemaker The Suicide Squad Zack Snyder's Justice League Birds Of Prey The Flash WW84 Shazam! Fury Of The Gods Black Adam
Sean I never knew you watched the animated justice league series!!!! It takes place in same continuity as Batman the animated series and portrayals all the characters very true to the comics imo
Batman: TAS; XMEN TAS; SpiderMan TAS; JUSTICE LEAGUE & UNLIMITED were all great shows that were ahead of its time and kept in step with comic book counterparts. Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes was the last gr8 animated show in this vein with a little smattering of Wolverine & the XMen
@@leonardobraynen1524 don’t get me wrong I love Spider-Man TAS but I don’t think it’s as good as the other shows mentioned. Have you watched spectacular spidey tho?
I don't have the money for patreon, or any merch. So instead, I don't skip ads when I watch your videos. Your a great l person and one of my favorite youtubers.
I feel like directors get a lot of the credit that the screenwriters should be getting. Not saying the directors are overrated or pointless I’m just saying that when it comes to how the characters articulate and are played out it’s actually the writers who should be getting the credit for it cause they’re the ones who wrote the film.
Me personally i would put the suicide squad in S tier as well considering its by far the best movie in that bunch overall. Its writing is better than every movie in the great tier, its well polished and feels like the most well put together film out of that bunch by quite a large margin. I would argue its better written, better paced, and overall a much better watch than zsjl but Great video nonetheless sean!!

Man of Steel is my top DCEU movie. I also really liked Justice League, Wonder Woman, and even though it was a very busy movie, I had a good time with Batman V Superman. I like the direction they were heading, but things just didn't work out. I'm excited about what James Gunn will do with the new DCU, but its a bummer that everything is having to start all over again and all the heroes are getting recasted.
I haven’t yet seen The Flash but here’s my ranking: 1: Zack Snyder’s Justice League 2: Man of Steel 3: Wonder Woman 4: Aquaman 5: The Suicide Squad 6: Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice 7: Shazam 8: Birds of Prey 9: Black Adam 10: Shazam Fury of the Gods 11: Wonder Woman 1984 12: Suicide Squad 13: Josstice League
I think I agree with just about every placing except for The Flash. SPOILER WARNING: By far, the only parts I liked about the movie were the explanation of time travel and the opening. The explanation for how Barry was able to pull this off using the multiverse I think is by far the most creative and easiest to digest in terms of time travel. The opening was also super great, showing how Barry clearly isn't contempt with the life he has now. But that's it (apart from Michael Keeton, I think he did really amazing and I loved he had a cameo in it). I liked the concept of Barry teaching his "past" self to be a superhero, but it felt like it took away from what made Flashpoint such a fun story in that Barry shouldn't get his powers, as his powers are gained from needing to bear the hardships life threw at him. They had a very interesting idea bringing in Supergirl who hates humans for all the torturing, and she instantly switches sides sort of taking away from the character. They took the storyline of Flashpoint and removed the Reverse Flash to add an evil version of Barry. I know it's a personal thing, but not having the Reverse Flash (or Prof. Zoom) in a Flashpoint movie solidifies the fact they saw an idea from the comics and wanting to bring it to the big screen with no love at all. This movie was made simply to reset the DCEU, and it feels like it. From a movie standpoint, I feel as if it is easily in the Bad but fun category. For me, this felt like what they did to Taskmaster in Black Widow but for an entire movie: a complete (and unique) overhaul that was ultimately underwhelming.
Great ranking and well thought out arguments! While I'm much more of a MCU fan, I have enjoyed quite a bit of the DCEU as well and I'm deeply saddened by the last the performances of the last 2 or 3 DCEU movies. I have not yet seen The Snyder Cut of Justice League, but I definitely plan to. I also have not seen Peacemaker, though I have no desire to at the moment. I would rank the others as follows: - S = None - Great = Shazam!, Aquaman (Aquaman had flaws, but overall, felt like an epic fantasy film with incredible visuals) - Ambitious, or Different, but Flawed = Wonder Woman, The Flash, Black Adam, Shazam!: Fury of the Gods - Safe but Fun = Man of Steel, Suicide Squad - Bad but Fun = Batman v. Superman, The Suicide Squad (was really disappointed in Gunn and could not take the Starfish seriously) - F = Wonder Woman 1984 - Dumpster = Justice League

I don't know.how much of the animated DC stuff you have seen, but 85% of it is incredible and 10% is good to great. I think you would enjoy a lot of the stories if you haven't watched them, and ranking them in this fashion would be a fun idea for me personally. I'm not sure how many others would agree though.

The Flash 3.5/5 6. Shazam! 3.5/5 7. Wonder Woman 3.5/5 8. Aquaman 3.5/5 9. Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) 3.5/5 10. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice 3/5 11. Awesome: Man Of Steel, Shazam, The Suicide Squad (2021) Great: Aquaman Good: Wonder Woman, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Suicide Squad (2016), Shazam: Fury Of The Gods, Peacemaker Decent: Justice League (2017) Meh- WW84, The Flash Bad- Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, Black Adam Terrible- Birds Of Prey
A main reason I don’t really like TASM was because it kinda copied Man of Steel. We have a lead who’s parents are dead and are being raised by people who aren’t their parents. A villain who wants to make earth fit their species. The final fights have both of them crash through buildings. They both have serious tones. They both have to deal with the fact that they are different
I agree with all but 2 of your choices. The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker both need moving up 1 place each. The Suicide Squad was a perfect comic book film. John Cena's acting was a very pleasant surprise, making him into a likeable Douche Bag, and that dance routine never got tiring.
I know I seem to be in a minority here, but I still think ZSJL kinda sucked. I think the initial cut had already taken the excitement or interest out of it for me. It was night and day better than the initial cut. Other than the main trio, all other characters still felt just flat, cardboardy with no real importance or significance. However; I will put a lot of that down to knowing 90% of what happens in the end and throughout the movie. It led to me feeling that watching the ZSJL an additional chore. I would have put it below BvS on the ranking. An equivalent C-Tier.
