A complete tutorial on how to program your weapons, bombs, cluster bombs, gun and rocket pods, including how to fire in single fire or ripple fire rocket pod modes. Support the creation of more content!: / redkite
This is one reason why I like your stuff so much Mr Kite. 14 months since you released this and I've just quickly gone back and looked it up to refresh on a few things while I'm doing some training on the F/A - 18. Much better than fluffing through the manual for ages and ending up with a lesser understanding. Your detailed instruction style is so logical.
i love the pull up pull up on the hornet 7:10 it's like having a freaked out female passenger actually shouting at you to pull up. Much better than the monotone "pull...up.... pull...up..."
Great vid, thanks RedKite! IRL switching a rocket pod from single to ripple fire is as easy as a switch on the back of the pod. Hope they let us change that via kneeboard or something soon.
Yeah, i'm hoping we'l see an overhaul of the loadout screen sometime, allowing you to customise your weapons such as the rocket motor or the fuses loaded onto your weapons.
So I had set up dcs on 5670 x 1080 on three screens and had My 4th screen all set up with this video to show Me How to finally fire a weapon of any kind except guns, and I got a weird screen and could not play. Turns out I had bought some new 3d glasses for nvidia and had 3D turned on in control panel. Weird duel image... So without using your video on the 4th monitor, I actually remembered all of Your good info and was able to drop MK84's on the tall building in PG, although it did not fall down. Thank You so much for explaining so well that this old man could actually make the F18 do something besides just shooting bullets !
They should just add a selector in the Weapons rearmament panel on reloading. Even in single player firing ranges you are now limited to spawning at least two planes for practicing either Ripple or Salvo modes. But here's to hoping they'll change it during development :)
I'm using the 'Russia' style editor icon, found under gameplay in the options menu. (they also allow you to see the heading of units unlike the nato ones)
Thanks Kav! I believe i've picked up a mystery down voter, it's been a trend for a while. Do wish there was a practical way to get useful feedback on videos, after all that's the best way to improve!
i know its off the subject, is there a way to make an a.i helicopter, hold position when he lands, untill an enemy unit is dead, before he moves, i know the timer is there, but wanted a unit dead before he can get out of the area ?
They're not invulnerable, they just require a direct hit, others might just have too much armour to kill it in one hit (like tanks, 2-3 direct hits to the rear will kill most) The DCS splash damage model is sadly very poor and partial damage representation is near non existent, so a near miss that might disable the vehicle in reality won't be represented in the sim sadly, making most rockets lacklustre.
The air to air weapons can be programmed in a basic sense, but i've not covered that, generally you will not need to configure these as they're automatic.
