Some fights over Normandy in the 4YA Multiplayer Server on DCS. Still taming the beast of a plane. Gear: Logitech 3d pro amzn.to/3UWQmz3 Keyboard amzn.to/3V47in2 MFG Crosswind Pedals mfg-sim.com/en/
Love seeing a good Jug pilot, great job! Oddly enough, when I flew the Jug in IL-2 (BoS), the Jug feels sluggish and underpowered. Bleeds energy very easily. Whereas in DCS it looks great. Your energy didn't seem to fall off as drastically as it does in IL2.
@@SukhoiGC Glad you enjoyed it! 👍. I have another dora vid in the works. I plan on upgrading my setup with a proper hotas / Stick / computer in the future. On'ce I upgrade I'll be more active flying DCS hopefully with smoother gameplay and making more videos. I haven't messed around in Il2 as of lately so I can't say if they tweaked the Jug from the last time I flew it.
I was riding BF109,P-51 and recently started riding P-47, but it's too hard. Engine control is too complicated, the yaw axis is too slippery, and the speed drops too fast If you look at this video, the P-47 looks like the strongest DCS warbirds. It's amazing
Engine management isn't any harder in Jug than other WW2 fighters, I think that's just a myth people keep repeating and then they believe it. You can interconnect everything and focus on fighting and flying 99% of the time. Only for start up and extreme high altitude flying you need to disconnect the boost lever.
I've been driving it for a year or so, and it's not that difficult to control the engine, but the high weight makes me greedy for HIGH rpm and manifold pressure. XD
I often forget how well P47's dogfight, then I see this. Absolutely good rudder work stay above or under the nose of the enemy when scissor fighting or rolling with them.
~S~ SALUTE This some of the best Jug pilotage I've ever seen. Absolutely outstanding. I am fascinated with this big girl and have been for over 2 years now since I first stepped into DCS and immediately into the cockpit of a Republic P-47D. I can hold my own in a dogfight but what you have just shown me reveals a higher level of flying a Thunderbolt. Come find me next time you want to instruct in the Jug. My DCS callsign is [WP] Bishop and I'm usually found in Wolf Pack US 02 Normandy -_- Dynamic Base Cap _-_ but Ill fly anywhere you are training sim pilots in a P-47.
I’m sure this is only me. But when I fly the 47 the rudder literally just falls off mid flight and I have no idea why or how to stop it. I’m not even doing high speed turns or anything. Any advice?
@@invisawop update. Turns out it might be an issue with not closing the cowl flaps and the plane having violent vibrations when picking up speed as a result. Apparently that causes the rudder to just break apart.
