Here's a step by step video demonstrating how you can add tactile feedback to your chair while flying DCS or many other supported flight simulators. This is a do it yourself install but don't be afraid! It's incredibly simple to install and it's fairly inexpensive! At a minimum you need a transducer, amplifier (with builtin sound card), speaker wire and some cable ties or screws (depending upon how you mount this).
Adding flight specific vibrations to your flight simulator will elevate your experience to a whole new level. I now RELY upon feeling the vibrations of buffets, G-Load, and weapons release to fly my aircraft and employ weapons. I can tell when my Strike Eagle is too slow in a turn so I can then add power and/or ease up on the pull.

To those who share a house with someone who's less enthused about flight simming I highly recommend getting some vibration isolation mounts (bobbins I think they're called - the ones you put under washing machines) to isolate the part you're adding the transducers to and the rest of the rig. My pucks are on the lumbar support and bottom cushion of my seat and I've added these isolators between the seat and the rig and it massively reduces any vibration "escaping". I've ordered some extra in case I want to turn the settings up further and I'll then add these to my simrigs mounting feet. For ref I'm using the NLR Military rig

This is a great suggestion! I'm in my basement so I don't have to deal with this issue of escaping vibrations. I may have to do a quick followup video with these suggestions and other observations.

Yeah if you have something solid, definitely the way to go. Having it mounted to the springs like that though feeds the vibrations right into the seat so it’s pretty good. Thanks for the compliment.

Just finished setting all the hardware up, and it's excellent, much better than the pad. I still have some tuning to do in the app, but it's great, thanks StrIIker. I will have a video of it up tomorrow and I gave you a mention, thanks again.

This is awesome! Thank you! Bummer I can't use my spare Schiit headphone amp...probably pushes a bit harder. My only suggestion? Pay like 5$-10$ for some banana plugs. Makes pulling things apart and putting them together a lot easier. No idea why this ended up in my feed, glad it did. Probably because my nephew and I fly some IL-2 and War Thunder. Though he does fly some DCS as well, I just don't.

Thanks! That’s a great idea and I will give it a look. Never heard of banana plugs but will look it up and grab some! I ordered a stronger power supply because the one included maxes at 60 watts (12 v) so I will see how this performs with it. I might make a follow up video with lessons learned and include the plugs in it.

Learned two things. How to make my Sim pit as awesome as possible. Thanks for that. I also learned you low key love wire strippers.. Freudian maybe?😂😂
@StrIIker-TV
@StrIIker-TV 2 месяца назад
Hah! I will admit that when I watch the video, I laugh when I talk about the stripping and yanking etc. Yes, I am immature! But regarding those wire strippers.. I can't tell you how many wires I have stripped over the years doing DIY stuff at home for repairs or installing some fixture etc. It was always a hated thing because I'd screw it up and drag out half of the wires or cut too much etc. Then I saw this on a video once where the person had these and had to get one. What a difference. What can I say.. I loves me an easy stripper! (take that how ever you want.. and you'd be correct in my intent) Thank you also for your compliment!

@StrIIker-TV seriously though, you got a new subscriber. Inhale one question just from reading the comments and I might be interpreting incorrectly, are the two software packages owned and operated by one person or is there a website?
@StrIIker-TV
@StrIIker-TV 2 месяца назад
@@thesouloftheinternet4829 So there is a website which I linked in the Video Description. SimShaker has two components. There is the SimShaker for Aviators which is free. This can be used for people who own the Jet Seat vibrating pad. I really like it. It has 8 motors which vibrate like a massage chair pad however they are activated and controlled by the software. The intensity, frequency and positions correspond to what the aircraft you are flying does. This software is maintained by a guy who goes by F410. He adds new aircraft as they come out if and when he gets the new module. People sometimes donate a new aircraft module to him. The second part is Sim Shaker Sound Module which is owned and maintained by Andre. Andre also is the one who sells the JetSeat pad. He's a nice and helpful guy. He also happens to be living in Russia so there's some challenges around getting the software license (and buying the jet seat if one wants that). If you can't complete the transaction on the website due to sanctions, you need to contact him via his email which is on the website and he can make arrangements with his friends or family living outside of Russia to handle the transaction etc. I think at one point, Andre handled all of the software or was partnered with the other person some how. I don't know the back story but both have been doing this for years for the DCS community. I got all of my stuff in the before time.

@@kgod511 man, if you have not been using anything yet.. you are in for a treat. Small issue, Andre who sells the SimShaker sound module is away for a few days so you may need to wait for him to get back. Just came across this video after basically doing the same thing today, briefly chatted on discord. This makes about as big an impact in immersion as the jump from flatscreen to VR. Not sure if you mentioned it but what is the power rating of the power supply that came with your nobsound amp? I have the same one but the supply is only 12v @5amp so 60watt max, I've noticed the outputs of both my pucks are much lower when I run both at the same time than one individually
@StrIIker-TV
@StrIIker-TV 2 месяца назад
I have the default 12v power supply. I should grab a 24V one (max voltage of the amp). I'll have to try an individual run to see how much of a difference there is.

I had the Next Level Haptic seat pad, but I didn't really like it. Is this a better fit for the Next-level cockpit? It looks like it worked out well for you.
@StrIIker-TV
@StrIIker-TV 2 месяца назад
I tried the Next Level Haptic seat pad and personally, I hated it. I own the Jet Seat pad (also from Andre / Sim Shaker) and it's so much better. Stronger vibrations and much, much more comfortable. As for the Bass shakers, they are quite good. I haven't tried flying without my jet seat pad but am going to try for a day or so to see how it is. Originally, The Jet Seat was what I considered to be near perfect but it was not very strong (but much better than the HF8) so I put the ButtKicker back on and only used it for weapons release, gun fire, cat shots, landing and some stuff like ground roll bumps and it was a killer combination. I got the left/ right, legs/back positional effects and the "oomph" from the Butt Kicker. The Bass Shakers are much better than the Butt Kicker and like I said, might be good enough on their own (with a left and right side). Even if a person uses just one, I think it's a terrific system. Let me know how it goes for ya!

Do the left and right shaker correspond to left and right engine/wing? Like if my right engine dies in flight, will the engine noise rumble only run through the left shaker? Or do they both feed the full signal all the time?
@StrIIker-TV
@StrIIker-TV 14 дней назад
@@anonymous15432 yes, this is how it works. One is left channel and the other is right. So when I am in the Strike Eagle and start up the jet, I start with the right engine first. The right side starts to vibrate at that time.

@StrIIker-TV 13 дней назад
@@anonymous15432 My pleasure. The left and right channels are handled in the SimShaker Audio software which is what works with SimShaker for Aviators to translate the telemetry into sounds for the transducers for each channel. If you have 6 of them , you can do more positional output but it would require smaller transducers. The more positional output is handled by the jet seat / jet pad which also own. The two (jet seat and transducers) together really works well.
