pootle kid hey man, they are the stock sound effects. I guess RAZBAM updated them. I don’t know when they did so but the spook down effect makes me feel like I’m hurting the engine If I pull the throttle back too quickly haha
We have a lot of good people that go way out of their way to make sure anyone that gets into to thisdon't have any worries about learning the rite way.. But i don't think anyone puts in the time like spud. Thank you spud for all you do.

Very cool mission. But man, I had to turn down my speakers to where I could barely hear you because the SRS radios were coming in really loud and blowing out my ears. Could barely understand the female pilot most of the time. Not sure if there's any audio leveling you can do for the next one or not. Looking forward to it though!
@@KortanaDCS You can also turn Tx voice effects off in SRS to minimise that audio distortion that SRS adds to make it sound like a low bandwidth radio. Makes it clearer sounding. Edit: the specific setting in SRS is called "Enable Radio Voice Effect"
I wonder if you guys have been looking at the new ED Syria map? Seems like it would be pretty kick ass given all the different scenarios for ops like this. Love the content man :)
Spudknocker thought the same but I wouldn’t want a radar giving my position away on this a/c for amraams I leave it for the bigger birds with burners to do the job😀
Even for DCS the Harrier is extremely difficult. I was able to take off in my first hour of getting the module but couldn’t do any cool Harrier things in it. The Harrier maxes out my willingness to fart around with controls. Even with a hot start you still need to deal with nose wheel tiller steering, nozzle direction, lockouts for nozzle/thrust syncing, flaps, water, brakes, thrust, control surfaces, and weight concerns. It’s an amazing Simulator with a capital S but I can’t do squat in the thing. Great video and mission, thanks for sharing it.
I mean, a lot of those things are optional, the only really important ones are flaps and nozzle position, with weight and water only being relevant in specific takeoff conditions. After a week or two of learning, the harrier started to feel like one of the easiest planes to fly imo. Still not as easy as an f16 or an fc3 planes, but much easier than the a10/f18/any of the planes from a similar year. Will say though, none of it comes naturally, everything about it needs a tutorial, but when you do get past the learning cliff it's a very nice plane to fly.
I hope one day I am as good as you spud. Started playing dcs 3 months ago. And I'm hook. I own almost all planes and have hotas warthog th, and st. Watching you guys play this mission makes me wish I was there playing to. Awesome and thanks for sharing
Some great flying there. Must have been quite an evening. Just wished the comms volume would be a tad lower, the mix with the DCS sounds wasn't optimal. Love those grayish dot labels. Might be the way to go with that 3dmigoto thing making them not shine through the cockpit anymore (mandatory and ED really needs to take over that fix ASAP). Would highly appreciate to see the labels.lua for that :)
Awesome. This is the the most engrossing DCS video I've seen. So much going on tense gripping stuff where I actually cared about what was happening to who! Who flys the tanker 👍. Was funny when I noticed no boots and no hand on the stick Hmm . Strangest thing is I just watched Growling Sidewinder flying the Harrier against a Skyhawk this came on auto play straight after and I swear I was over half way through the video before realizing you were not him. Best thing I've watched in ages well done everyone.
i have the harrier now for 3 days... i get it into the air now in 3-5 minutes... but not able to activate weapons... :D Other thing... i thought this game/sim is so populare.... why is the server list empty? not a single server for multiplay...
No worries you did pretty well! Sabre 3 here. Struggled with SA. When spud lost his mind about the 7o'clock low bandit from kasab, I committed and thankfully didn't shoot poor agent orange down lol. I took Spud's bandit call too literally and forgot they dont have DL on the harriers lol. Wasn't sure if the bandit was just not getting picked up b awacs or not.. Also spotting ground targets were a total bear in the 16.
Who needs Netflix when you have Spudknocker on RU-vid!, thanks Spud! Nice mission! Those harrier landings are always full of technical precision and witchcraft...
So I am starting out with the Harrier atm, learning as good as I can. I was looking for good gameplay footage and this Video had EVERYTHING. Great Video. Keep it up.
The grey dot labels are the result of a custom labels.lua file. You can find some pretty good info on how to configure your own here: www.airgoons.com/w/DCS_Reference/Labels
@@Spudknocker Could you share your labels.lua? Seems to be a good config there. I'd like to try that out offline and see if I get used to it. Until now I've been using custom dots based on the full label settings, which won't work at all when a server is set to dot only. Did those changed before that was introduced...
@@Spudknocker I can hear cat meowing in the background. At least that is what it sounds like. Lol Everytime I paused the video to check outside my window, it went away.
Hey "Spud", like watching your vids ... Good job for training too. Would like to hope that adding air craft such as EA6B Prowler and A6 Intruder would be a great ! Any chance on getting development of these on DCS ? Thanks
