Logistics is so fun in DCS. Once me and some guys built an Abrams (Using CTLD it was 3 big crates, a helo could only carry one) outside an enemy airfield, went back for some more vehicles, went into combined arms, and raided the airfield.
That's some of the smoothest HIP flying I have seen! I am like a pig on rollerskates and the VRS get's me most of the time on landing. I suppose your method of getting into ground effect while hauling ass forward is a solution I never thought of. Going to fire it up now and test my theory. I have only had it for a month and haven't even fired weapons from it. I want to be proficient on takeoff and landing before I even attempt that phase. Liked and subbed.
That's how the UH-1C (?) pilots got their under-powered helos off the ground in Vietnam, they could barely taxi them, and then they used the runway to take off.
Thanks , I get a lot of flak when I forget the fans. Loving the new Rotor wash effects though, makes flying the helicopter low level so much more immersive , specially when landing and taking off.
