Why no sidewinders for the cobras or stingers for the apache? Kinda hard to kill the hind with anti tank missiles... also I thought the hind couldn't hover for long periods?

Because this whole video is pointless. Couple of helicopters driven by terrible AI shooting at each other ATGM missiles. All shown helicopters can launch AA missiles, namely Stingers and Sidewinders for the US side and Iglas and R73s for the Russian side. Both the hellfire and Ataka-V would pretty much destroy any given tank. This is nothing but travesty.

DCS damage modelling is pretty poor, dating to pre-IL-2 era, so all kinds of stuff can happen when something hits some other thing.

It's something the game does, if there isn't enough thrust to hit the target then they will detonate to avoid hitting any civilian buildings (I think)

"Flying tank" is Su-25 (also "rook"(bird)). Mi-24/35 is a "Crocodile". Ka-50 "(Black) Shark", Ka-52 "Alligator". Also T-80 and T-90 are sometimes called flying tanks for jumping stunts. Mi-28 doesn't have a cool nickname as I know ("Night hunter", meah). Mi-26 is unofficialy called "cow", "container", "brick with a bow".

Hello how can I get helicopter ai to fire at ground objects at a slow speed or maybe a hover. Now they seem to Circle a mile or 2 in the opposite direction before then turning around for a high altitude attack. please help :)
