Revamp time! I was so excited to declutter, clean and organize my pantry once and for all! The new setup has made it so much easier to find what I’m looking for quickly, knowing what to re-stock is now a breeze since everything is labeled and in plain sight, and I get a lot of inspiration to create meals every time I open the door. I keep my onions in the pantry, but they sprout easier in the dark space, so I throw an apple in with them, which stops onions from sprouting.

Onions in pantry, but don't store them next to potatoes. They give off gasses that spoil them quickly.

I typically leave my potatoes and onions in the fridge just because I’m single and it lasts longer for me. I also keep my bread in fridge for the same reason

My parents did the same thing when I was growing up. Even with my husband and I keep those things in the refrigerator. I just feel like the refrigerator keeps things fresher.

Yeah, don't store onions and potatoes together. Onions will spoil your potatoes faster, but you guys go through potatoes fast so maybe it won't matter 🤷🏾‍♀️ but I keep onions, tomatoes, and lemons on the counter. It looks pretty, too. Like, yes ppl cook here lol

Me as well. I have a, "fruit bowl", where I keep my lemons, avocados, bananas, limes, ginger, garlic, etc.

Omgeee! That turned out great! I got inspired once I saw you fill the wire baskets. I place my fresh onions in a bowl on my counter. Once I cut into them, it goes in the fridge.

You did a great job. I would recommend to place your cutting boards off the floor. Place liners on your potatoes and onion baskets. I have heard that you would live them in a dark place - maybe to the side of your pantry. Pls do another video in a couple months to let us know what worked and other changes you've made. Your so awesome.

For my onions, I’ll do a huge prep day where I’ll chop all the onions, toss them into a ziplock bag, and chuck them in the freezer. I never use onions raw and they’re perfect to freeze and sauté for majority of my dishes. That’s what works for me!

@TheChicNatural - I like how you organized your pantry. You might need to move those onions faraway from your fruit drinks an coconut water...or the drinks might absorb the onion flavor. I store my onions and potatoes in the refrigerator, so they stay fresh longer.

I see a lot of comments about keeping bread in the fridge to keep it from molding quickly. Here's a tip, if you keep your bread away from any heat source: top or near the fridge, near the oven, microwave, dishwasher etc. It'll last longer. I bought a bread box and keep it on a side table in the dining room and it definitely helps. This is for those who don't like bread from the fridge or freezer.

Looks super neat ! 😀You could use a towel or cloth at the bottom of your baskets where you out produce like potatoes or onions as they can get moldy or loose their shells and it will be easier to clean them. I recently cleaned my pantry and i had a couple surprises 😂😅

Store onion and potatoes in a dark, dry, cool, like the basement or a cellar. We have always stored ours like this and I did that when I started staying by myself.

I heard that onions release a gas that will spoil the potatoes faster, so its best to keep them apart. I personally leave my onions on the counter nicely. I love your pantry transformation ❤️ thanks for the good tips!

Great job on the pantry. It looks so organized with the matching containers and baskets. You asked about the onions, they are good in the pantry and last a long time in a cool dark place. However, if the onions and potatoes are near each other the onions spoil faster and the potatoes will start sprouting.

This is a perfect video when we do have a beautiful pantry to work with 😊...usually we keep our potatoes and onions in the fridge. However, we sometimes forget it about them easier that way...so, the pantry idea looks and sounds better

Onions and bread always go into the refrigerator in my home. I do this because it delays molding of the bread and sprouting of the onions. Also the aroma of the onions can attract pests and make your kitchen smell like onions.

I typically keep my onions in the fridge because it’s easier to cut them up with tears in my eyes. Lol. I’ve noticed that when they’re not refrigerated the tend to burn my eye more. Looove this organization I want these clear containers! Just need to explain why we need them to my boyfriend lol 😂

Ive always kept my onions and potatoes (not next to each other) in my pantry and they do fine in there. No problems.
