Marcos did embarrass himself with this statement. It was expected that he and the accused of the drug war violations would use the opportunity of de Lima's acquittal to claim the justice system works.Yes they could say it works but claiming it works properly is an ironic mockery of the victims of the failure of justice. It works no doubt, it works for politics but not for justice. That means if Duterte comes back de Lima goes back to jail. Maybe the justice system got a break and can breathe a little but if the political wind turns again the justice system will bow like a flak in the wind. Marcos once more made it clear that justice will not prevail if it comes to accusations against the PH government and its enforcement. And he assured anew his alliances with Duterte and Co. He or his administration did not do wrong against de Lima. That does not mean that de Lima or any other who criticizes the ruling government is safe from unjust prosecution.
If the system can try and convict Duterte for his crime against humanity, then indeed it is working! But if not, then the Govt need to cooperate with the ICC !

There's no justice system in the Philippines for the less educated and poor...lawyer to defend the client can't move without money...office fees are costly including xeroxing and round trip fares for hearing n professional fees...senior citizens who wants to file charges to avail justice aren't even discounted...more filipinos cannot stretch far their budget caused by below average income rate bcoz the influx of Chinese took the job vacancies supposedly for filipinos...pbbm ... you're the only hope...godbless
Statement of BBM is misleading, only after Duterte administration justice begins to shine. But during Duterte's time, I am very sorry to say that justice system didn't work. The judiciary was overwhelmed by the president power.

Until and unless the responsible for war on drugs are charge in court and punish i think its pre mature to say that our criminal justice are working. Besides, the ICC came into picture before you assume office. Can you categorically say that during the war on drug when the ICC took jurisdiction of the case on crimes against humanity our justice system is working ?
