Dead ALASKA SALMON found in OREGON RIVER???

OK I embellished the title a little bit for views lol. Good news is that it's great to see some larger fish in Oregon rivers this year. On many rivers in Alaska this may be considered a "dink."
A 30LB PLUS SPRINGER UNICORN CARCASS??? YES!!!
OK I agree this is 100% disgusting, but it's also totally amazing to see a 30-plus pound wild Spring Chinook from a river close to Portland. Even if it is dead.
We were coho fishing today and saw a massive carcass in a riffle about a foot and a half deep. We thought that it may be the largest coho we have ever seen and had to investigate. SO I DID! AND CHECK IT OUT! No trick photography here I could barley get it all the way out of the water.
And yes I have since washed my hands. More than once.

Kings in the green where plentiful in the 70s. I don't think I ever remember fish in the 50 lb range but lots in the 30 to 35 lbs range. I grew up on the hill next to muckleshoot casino and fished the stuck river also through childhood as well as the green. I will tell you I seen a 35 lbs steelhead come out of a gill net up on the bend about a mile up river from game farm park in the early 70s. Bitchen place to grow up for a kid. That scody king picked up out of the river is the real deal for Oregon rivers. Took a 38 lbs on the umpqua (springer). Oregon has a nice fishery. You 3 are having to much fun Ha!! Happy fishing!

Call me crazy, but it kinda looks like I captured a bear on the bank up in the creek at minute 2:51. Bears have been spotted in this area but not very often. If you're a bear that's the spot to be.

My guess is- that king was a stray from "the other" local river. I saw five that size this "spring" here.. Even better if you don't believe me 🤞🏿

Back in the 90s on the green river in Auburn Washington in Flaming state Park. Me and a buddy each caught wild king salmon I caught a hen he caught a male. They both were over 4 ft long. And we're in the 50 lb range. Catch and release only so it took twenty mins to nurse them back and release them. Those fish that breed of fish are long gone.

From my nose to my kneecap is 43 inches. I'm guessing that chinook is about 3 and a half feet ish.

Some of the rivers on the Oregon coast here. Every so many years, we get a run of very big. chinook salmon And they call them bronze backs. And they can be over 50 pounds or not bigger.
