the wraith got tricked into killing people by another murderer by making him think he was just doing his normal job, the pig was working with john Kramer, the hag was mutilated by cannibals and leatherface literally lives with a family of killers
translation: there is no point, dear daughter. (slices) (after slice at the very end) the longer we wait, the more pain we carry. thanks for a lot of likes o.O
Wolf Zun hey I’m sorry my nephew was on my phone and he’s like really obsessed with this game and apparently he saw a comment that already translated and he assumed that you took the guys idea.
I seriously still love watching this because of the lore behind it. The entity was going to take Rin's father, but took Rin instead, due to the pain and rage in her heart.
The true question is, her ingame lore sort of ends off with her actually getting promised that ever-so desired vengeance within her. The problem is whether or not that was a lie by The Entity to compel her to stay and kill or if The Entity actually granted her vengeance before transporting her to the realms.
@@melanie6169 it's most likely is. The voice is the same. The same mask and same swords. Said it in the backstory. Most likely the dad went on to kill everyone in his job.
@@freske2659 She never did, the entity took her right before she could get revenge. That's why she haunts the survivors hoping to find her father and to finally get revenge.
Anthony Marentic Jr. actually no. The entity allowed her to get revenge. She wouldn’t have been able to get revenge when she was already missing limbs, impaled by shards of glass, and bleeding out on the floor. She swore to get revenge and that’s when the entity made her what she is.
Something tells me.. What if its the girl who is the killer. Not the one killing her. What if she comes back as some kind of vengeful spirit and wears the mask
Her father is not the one who slit her mouth her husband did he was jealous that she was so beautiful so he cut her mouth idk they could've changed it but there wouldn't be a reason to.
In the beginning there is an Edo period mask, this represents the period samurai were alive and still going, I will debunk the samurai theory for a few reasons. One, they have a code of honor which cannot be broken otherwise they have to kill themselves. I will know state why it's the slit mouth woman. The slit mouth woman was originally made during the Edo period. The Edo period was during the samurai also, anyways. The mythology has a few different types, but the one that they seem to follow is the one where her father catches her in the act. In this myth she is said to be bare naked when she was about to commit an affair when her father/husband (depending on which) catches her. With grief and hate he goes to kill the man she was going to commit the affair with, which is shown by the blood on her knees and the floor. After this he goes to his wife/daughter and tells her that she is vain and that she must suffer for what she did. In which he causes two clean slices to the side of her mouth. As shown by the two slicing sounds. The daughter/wife is so distraught by what happens she looks in a mirror and sees her ugliness, only to kill herself (depends on the myth) but the one I saw she shattered her head in the mirror, as indicated by the end with the mirror shatter. Another reason I believe it's the slit mouth and not the samurai is because she is seen wearing nothing as the samurai seems to be standing in the home. The mask also represents those made from the Edo era, which is why I believe it is the slit mouth woman, but what do you guys think? (Edit) ( Thanks for the support ) So I also now heard the two voices, and they do seem female, but it is possible that it still the the person the woman is having an affair on. In the beginning, I don't think he's facing away from her because it seems like when he unsheathes his katana he is aiming it towards her, it's possible that he didn't kill the person in the affair yet, and the first two slices are of either him killing the affair, or him mutilating his wife. Also, I understand the romanticized history part of the chivalry, macho etc, though I don't believe the "cursed" type swordsman of samurais were in the Edo period (please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm going to do some research later to see if they were). Though it does point to the slit mouth woman, it also points to an Oni, with obviously the mask on the outside being an Oni one (one of the Edo region and were given to the most respected knights/samurai which also plays into the slit mouth since her husband/father was very honored.) And the samurai outlook. Let's hope we get the release on the public test build! I'm super excited, what's your guy's opinions on the killer, Oni? Samurai? Slit mouth woman? What do you guys think the survivor will be? I'm thinking the survivor either might be a school girl/boy who encountered the slit mouth woman in modern time and was taken into the entity. Or it's going to be someone from the past, who was there for the event and was taken into the entity. (Edit 2) I was thinking of her Mori, and I believe it could be something of her asking the survivors "Am I pretty?" But since they're dazed they don't respond, so she takes her mask off and once again "Am I pretty?" The survivor begins to back up from her and she pulls out her scissors slicing into their stomach/or into the mouth, and cuts out, before dropping them to the floor and putting her mask back on. (edit 3) To those saying the knees are facing the wrong way, please look to which way they bend, they bend inwards not the opposite way, they bend inwards toward the woman, which seems like a typical samurai stance (usually seen by like those stock pngs etc), but I don't believe he's facing another way.
Well done mate. But I am still feeling like I can hear two female voices: one is screaming, the other mumbling. If this true then who's the other women? In addition to that, it seems like the killer is not facing the girl in the video, instead hes looking to the right (pay attention to hes knees, they are facing right). There must be someone else. And the last thing, I dont think killer is actually hurting the girl whose legs we see, instead after she saw what he did to this third person she runs away and jumps out of the window or something. We can hear someone running at the same time as the killer is killing somebody else. Tell you there must be someone else.

You're all saying it's not Kuchisake-Onna because he's talking about his daughter, but if you listen closely, there are two distinct female voices !! one is mumbling/ crying the other one is screaming ! The husban with the katana was probably mutilating his wife as told in the myth but as the daughter was watching he began talking to her ! then you hear footsteps, probably the daughter running away, waybe the new survivor ?
Thank you! I am sick of people saying it's a samurai. The video is literally titled the first cut and that line goes way back with kuchisaki-onnas lore
it's because they might've wanted to make two killers back then but then decided to wait with the other one untill some time in the future back then because I think some of things used in this trailer was also used back in the trailer for the spirit?
"omae wa mou shindeiru" would be dope and a nice nod to the weeb players haha. i'd like him to say something really formal and Edo-like about "we're both ending up dead" like "watashitachi shinde shimau" or something lmao.
it might be Kuchisake Onna, in Japanese some names have different translations so maybe Daughter can have different translations as well and this might be the scene where the samurai husand cuts Kuchisake Onna to get her slit mouth
It sounds like the slit faced woman. The Hannya mask showed in the beginning is a symbol of a jealous female demon, and the slit faced woman’s lore supports that. She was also mutilated by her husband with a katana. Also, I can’t see BHVR making the killer himself talk in the teaser.
KuwabaraWasTaken Im hoping they indeed twisted the lore where like he killed he's daughter. The entity gave her one last chance in life and her ghost got revenge on him. Now she is using the kitana that killed her. Searching for more sacrifices for the entity.
KuwabaraWasTaken If it's gonna be the samurai then it wil the first time in 2 years that they actually made a killer talk. Even Freddy doesn't have his own lines
This totally looks like it will be Kuchisake-onna based on the origins of the myth: "The samurai angrily took his sword upon her face, and slit her mouth from ear to ear, making her no longer beautiful. Soon after, she killed herself, and was banished to eternity of avenging her own pain." *Edit* Actually I reckon it's not after reading the translation, which is a shame as I was hoping for her :(
Actually I agree, especially after reading the translation. Which is a bit disappointing as I like the idea of Kuchisake-onna rather than a guy with a sword.
Yeah, I agree. It's a shame as that means we won't likely be getting her now as this chapter is giving us a Japanese killer so we probably won't get a chance at another one or, if we do, it'll be a long wait.
See, that's scarier than some dude with a sword, to me at least! Not to say a dude with a sword isn't scary, lol, but a freaky ghost lady is nightmare fuel!
I dont know but I hope the killer talks in game during the hunt. The killer should yell out "NANI!?" When stunned by something. I think that would be funny.
Y'all saying it's Kuchisake Onna. New theory: This is based on the Himuro Mansion legend. Survivor is daughter, killer is father, takes place in a Japanese mansion or home, we see an oni mask which is usually depicted with curses, on top of that in the legend a girl must be sacrificed to hold back an evil curse. The girl saw a boy, tainting herself, so the father killed everyone including his daughter, in the hopes of sparing them a fate worse then death. PLOT TWIST: The curse was specifically the Entity and the family generations had been killing one of their daughters each generation to spare the rest of the family from being taken into this Entity's realm. But in this generation, the father failed and so both are taken by the Entity. Just a theory!
never thought about this, i would happily accept kuchisake Onna or the Himuro Mansion legend as a DLC. Thanks for the input, this broadens my perspective a little more!
Right, mmk So, in the original myth, the slit-mouthed woman as we know her went around her town asking people if she was pretty, to which they always said yes. One day, she had an affair with an old soldier, and her husband, a samurai, got angry. He confronted the soldier, but the soldier honestly stated that she was simply the most beautiful girl, and so he picked her of all else. He did not know she was married, and he didn't have much to be happy about. He had the affair for good reasons, while she simply had it to boost her ego. The samurai, who was a GOOD person, not a monster, slit her face to make her less pretty. Obviously, when she died, she became the slit faced woman. This killer tortured his victim, and then slashed her several times, murdering her and prompting his daughter (who didn't exist in the story) to run away out the window. He also did it because "people die" and honor killings were very common among ancient japanese samurai. This was neither honorable nor kind, and it was entirely out of cynical loathing and a foul attempt to "comfort" his grieving daughter. If the slit faced woman were involved, even then, she would not become a survivor, as the samurai has already claimed the role of the cynical, hateful murderer. She wouldn't be the survivor because she kills people and was not blameless for her own pain in the original story, while she is in this trailer. Rather, the daughter might become the survivor because she managed to escape before he could come after her next. If the slit faced woman is to have no intrinsic value to this dlc, then there is a TINY chance that she will become a killer or survivor for this dlc.
He had the affair for good reasons. The samurai, who was a GOOD person, not a monster, slit her face to make her less pretty. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
let me rephrase The soldier wasn't aware she was married, thus it wasn't wrong that he chose her to have sex with over anyone else. the samurai understood this the samurai wasn't a monster, but slitting her face open wasn't exactly polite. still, you have to admit she sort of deserved it for her pompousness and cheating
Cries in Meredith grey Damn I can’t wait She instantly became my favorite killer because I had been asking for a ghost female that had some type of rage and they delivered just that I instantly got her to p3 and just look and wonder where her story went she easily has one of the best backstory with much story that still needs to be told I can’t wait lmao
Everyone is taking the translation too literaly, it doesn't have to stick to the source material. They may have just changed the line last minute to throw us off. If you see the translation, it talks about "The more pain we carry" and in the original legend she comes back to avenge her pain. So many things are lining up that I feel they have tried to throw us off.
I'm not sure if Folklore can be considered 'licensed'. I'm assuming there is some protection on it, but I think this might be BHVRs twist on the legend. I see the Samurai being the survivor and the girl the monster as this samurai, the girl's father now has to escape his sliced Daughter. Both have reasons to be in Purgatory, the Entity punishes the samurai, and the girl is taken advantage of and promoted to a Killer in the fog.
@@emerson8620 He said injure not down multiple survivors so basically hillbilly with the addon that makes him need two hits with the chainsaw that gets him 25% more points in return.
Take a look at 0:16. On the left side, you can see that the light source is a lightbulb, which means were dealing with reasonably modern times. It could be a man highly valuing the old tradition of samurai who punishes those leading looser lives. Maybe it's the 1950's, as a western lifestyle is becoming increasingly popular? Edit: Also he'd better be wearing that Oni-mask.
What if he values those traditions a bit too much and slaughter? Then the second teaser comes along and a vengeful spirit comes into the room to take him.
@@lorenzobien5555 Now that I think about it, that would make the title 'First Cut' make a lot of sense, since this would be the first cut which makes the woman Kuchisake Onna, after which follow the cuts she makes with her scissors. Edit: However, the samurai cuts her multiple times, and the first cut that we see is a high vertical slice instead of carefully slicing her mouth open. I think he's probably cutting her limbs off, and the slice we see is cutting off an arm.
The girl that is being tortured is probably Rin Yamaoka (The Spirit) and the man who speaks is a relative. He sliced her, so she became a spirit after death and looks dispersed in pieces..
Devs, PLEASE do an evil Santa Claus in an abandoned shopping mall this holiday season! You're seriously (nay, criminally) missing a brilliant idea there. Seems like an absolute no-brainer for a game like this.
