For those wondering why the chase music was changed, in a patch that come out a while ago the chase music was bugged so killers would hear what survivors were hearing during chase music. The devs apparently liked it and kept it in!
I honestly think it’d be neat if this was the default chase music for Oni but when he uses his Kanabo, the current one we have today would play until he goes back to normal
That would actually fit quite well, since in his lore his main weapon of choice was the Kanabo. So him using the Katana would make him seem less like 'Oni Yamaoka'
@@TheWoodWraith exactly, this ptb music playing as default would show we’re facing off against a Samurai. But when he goes into Demon Rage, the current music we have will start playing to remind us he’s an Oni
@@Kezsora I mean think about it, they really have the same thing going on, expect Oni is just a better executed Michael due to being released much later and the developers having more references about how survivors play and strategize. Both their powers are revolved around interacting with survivors and not focusing on getting them downed and on hooks (injuring them or stalking them) until they get their power, which is an instadown. The main difference is that Oni is given map pressure from his power because of his demon dash, and that is exactly why Michael is considered bad, his power has no map pressure involved due to how early he was created.
What would be so sick is if the chase theme remained the same as the one we have in game rn but when he enters the rage mode it plays this chase music overtop of the rage until it ends
There was something about the PTB's chase music that felt ominious, dark, and foreboding. I love both of the Oni's chase themes and it's very hard to decide which one I like more
At first I thought Demogorgon got his own chase music because clearly he was from a popular tv show but when the Oni came out thats when I realized they would be giving everybody their own chase music.
Imagine this theme would play when Oni is in his Rage Mode. I remember when i played the first time against Oni and i heard this music. My heart was racing!
This feels like a fair fight. Like you're actually standing up to the opponent, dropping pallet after pallet while your teammates furiously repair gens.
Am I the only one who thinks it would have been a cool idea to use both versions of the chase music by tying it to the Oni’s power? Out of blood fury, it could be the PTB one as it’s more toned down and rhythmic. Really brings out the samurai nature of the Oni. But then the live one we have is absolutely brimming with fury and supernatural aggression. Something that is perfect for Blood Fury.
I wish this was for when he was out of his power and the current one was in his power, I've always wanted there to be different themes for if he's in power or not
For those people confused, this is most likely a Re-upload. This is the Oni’s Chase theme that was used when he first appeared on the PTB back in 2019. The survivor’s perspective of the chase theme was changed to the theme we have now when the Cursed Legacy DLC released. Whereas the on the Oni’s perspective, this was the theme he originally heard when he was chasing a survivor. For whatever reason, intentional or not, one of the patches in 2020 (i’m gonna guess it was either the blight or hillbilly rework patch) unofficially changed the chase themes for some of the killer’s perspective. Those Killers were Demogorgon, Myers and the Oni. Demo and Myers were more subtle changes compared to Oni, as this is a completely different piece of soundtrack. They basically just made it so the survivor and killer heard the exact same part of the chase theme. From my understanding this probably isn’t an upcoming change for the next dbd patch for Oni. This is likely just a Re-Upload. I will admit I think this theme fits the killer’s perspective so much more, but certainly I agree that the current theme is much more suited for survivor.
Wait, so do you mean that currently the survivor and killer perspectives are different? Or do you mean that they used to be different and that they changed them to be the same?
@@twosoup3252 killer chase theme and survivor theme we’re different from each until one update I think it was a bug or Idk and it they change killer chase themes to survivor chase theme demo chase theme was different but now he has the same one as survivor
@@Rubaiin I can't say I remember how different it was for Michael, but Demo had the "near" portion of the terror radius for the Killer side of the chase.
@@Koilocytosis Thank you so much. I love any matsuri that's available here and I visit everyone of them. I love Japanese tradition and try to learn so much about it.
Wish this stayed his terror radius/chase. Why would they change it to the live version??? Which admittedly I DO like the live music too but this just fit so much better with him. The live version maybe could have gone to another killer (though not sure who) that maybe doesn’t already have their own terror radius music
Did you delete some of your old music video ¿ I can't find some original chase theme like "closing in", "No place to hide" or "Blood trail" ¿ I tought you had them some time ago.
The terror radius music has a nice oomph to it, but the original chase music is still the best! This new stuff, like one comment here said, sounds like a Japanese version of Michael's chase music. New terror radius music + original chase music is the way to go!
I dig how it was more percussion focused with that boom of the bass, but it definitely is kinda empty compared to other killers music. Chase sequence in ptb sounds better though definitely.
I dont know which one i like more between ptb and live oni chase music. Also am i the only person who thinks it sounds like joker music. In the beginning
The current Chase of his is the reason. The chase theme was glitched for survivors, the version that played was the current live version,BHVR was lazy to fix it,so they just kept the glitched version
Because of a glitch that would make the killers hears the survivor pov version of this chase theme... They didn't ever thought about actually fixing it
