@@megadrivecar_ No, I actually like her menu theme a lot and her chase theme. Although like I said, it could definitely use some more work. But other than that, I don't like her
@@tfcbioshock We have a doctor who induces madness or a bioweapon that contaminates you or even a tall guy who murders you without changing a shade. All sounds scary but they just aren't to me, yet we have a thicc chick that just scares me for a reason I don't know. Personally I think behavior did a great job and brought some fear factor to a game that was supposed to be a survival 'horror' game.
@@tfcbioshock Yea people's expectations were high but I have a theory that this might have been a little rushed, regardless I'll take any new content. It's better than none! Except for pinhead, I could've done without pinhead
Ghostface situation, where originally 16 meter sounded way better than 8 meters and chase... also Skull merchant chase sounds like a washing machine as well like damn haven't they learned? makes me kinda dissapointed as a brazilian
@@user-mo9pm5sf9o she is brazilian. In her lore it says her father was a japanese mangaka who moved to brazil and fell in love with a brazilian woman. So skull merchant is half Japanese and half brazilian. Maybe read her lore before talking.
That 16 Meters is amazing and the chase theme is honestly super good! I really like that, the robotic alarm pulsing sound is so cool in the chase. Edit: also forgot to mention that drummer is going mad insane and I love it lol
When you have to listen to the constant drums everytime you get into a chase, unlike the other chase music in the game it gets annoying. It gets railed in your heas after awhile and makes chases with her just not fun
It's not bad, but I personally just don't like how it pretty much abandons any of the techno/mechanical vibes it had going by the time the chase theme starts. Makes it feel more generic
If you ask me the main thing it's missing is the alarm from the 3rd layer. It's probably my favourite element besides the drums though at the same time I also consider it to be probably my favourite 3rd layer of all the killer terror radius themes
Yeah it does it sounds intense like the back ground sounds sound like if your wearing headphones you can hear like switching between cams or a wave of people screaming in a weird pitch@LightWavess
This has so much personality, I really don't understand how so many people are giving this so much sh*t. It's so much more rhythmic and methodical than all the other chase themes which are much more chaotic and full of noise.
People tend to only find comfort in what they're used to. Of course, sometimes until someone convinces them to either give it a chance or they blindly follow the leader so to speak.
I miss old Skull Merchant. I had a chase build with Jolt, STBFL, and sloppy. Sometimes I switched btween Devour and Floods of rage. I usually didn't run any info perks and left my drones on the gens to know where the survivors where. That way I could make her in chase almost as strong as Trapper without making the gameplay boring for the survivors
Gotta say, I love her terror radius and chase music! It fits the tone of her nature and matches her sadistic motives. Plus, the 8-meter/close portion reminds me of Knights 8-meter/close segment because of how they give off this terrifying vibe, it feels so unnatural in a way and I love it.
Sporting a wrist blade that looks like it was inspired by a certain alien hunter. Hell her name is called the Skull Merchant which just screams predator wannabe.
@@GeistDrachen that’s what I thought too when they first teased this chapter. Now that it out I’m still kinda right. It not the Predator that we want but the Predator that we needed (not really)
She would have been alot of better if she was some kind of War Veteran who gained a passion for hunting people for sport due to her time in the War, and who was very bored when the war ended so she just started hunting random people because she could. But instead we got this lmao
The distanced theme is meant to (hopefully) portray the sound of her drones being used to track prey, the actual chase is (again I hope) to simulate being hunted through a forest as we know it is her preferred terrain to give a greater thrill of the hunt
I was expecting to see someone self experimenting cybernetic equipement with visible blood and flesh but I guess a woman with a glitter mask and pig's blade is better
@@winterc7461 this killer sucks in every aspect, they aren't strong enough to be their own killer, just two taken ideas from trapper and pig. Their perks have almost no use considering you need to be in chase first, then interact with outside elements while still in chase in order for them to work. Lastly, her aesthetic isn't scary, it isn't menacing and doesn't even make sense. Trickster with blood on his clothes at least showed he got the job done. This just looks like screensaver from Incredibles mixed with a five and dime tomb raider character. She's not scary enough to be cool, and not strong enough to be cool, and honestly some survivor skins look like they could be the ones to hunt HER
@pjnkfantasy whats fun abt defending a 3 gen and making the game last 30-40 mins? Its not even fun anymore its just boring and makes u dc not bc the team is trash its bc the killer plays like shit
@@fnafstuff8238I rarely ever play her as a 3 gen killer. I like to chase people. And the great thing about her is she is extremely versatile with what builds you can use with her and heavy chase builds work great on her especially with her add ons. The only time I actually defend 3 gens is if I’m losing gens too fast despite the amount of hooks im getting. Chase merchant is my favorite way to play her and honestly that’s how you should play her. You’ll end chases really quickly tbh if you master when to place drones at certain tiles and catch people off guard. Her chase potential is amazing.
My favorite part of this Chapter was when Skull Merchant said "it's 3 genning for an hour time" and 3 genned all of the Survivors and made them DC, truly one of the moments of all time
as one who tries to identify every killer based on the chase music, i have to say that the new Singularity theme is very close to this one, especially in the 32 meter range.
Despite the killer being a bit underwhelming, this theme is perfect. It feels like this tense chase through a woods as she uses all her contraptions to catch her victims.
The killer is boring with a bad digsin and uninteresting power. The problem isn't that the killer is not predator or terminator the problem is that this killer sucks. People had high expectations beacouse they want good content for the game
Literally. This chase seems practical too when you’re in chase. Like the drums are what you’re only going to hear while you focus on the chase anyways. The repetitive part is what makes the chase intense.
@@RegenTinte80800 Looking past the expectations, this chapter is still a disappointment. Weak power, awful Killer design (could've done better than this), boring chase music, a survivor perk that incentivizes tunneling (Blood Rush: Recover from Exhaustion immediately, lose a health state, go back one health state 20 seconds later. Paired with Sprint Burst, it's fucking broken), fanfic level writing for the Killer lore, awful mori (the animation is not only underwhelming, the way the body falls is just so... floaty)
i think that if they combined the 16 meters with the chase in some way, the chase will actually be less monotonous and more of a banger, cause both have some good stuff on em
I really like it. The Killer herself doesnt seem to be scary(but Honestly I have two worst killer for this in mind), but I feel some pressure in her chase theme at least.
Kinda sells her appeal, it’s not her physical form that makes her scary, it’s her intellect and motives. She’s the book “The most dangerous game” executed in a dark sci-fi style. Aesthetically cool even if she isn’t the cyborg we thought her to be. Will totally be a skin though let’s be real
@@notgabriel8624 she is a sociapath apparently. It could work. Character with simple appearance can be scary as well if its well handled(the first example I have in Mind is Richard Felton). I really wish she was more hybrid human/machine (like Signalis, Soma or other horror sci fi), but I think she is fine.
I don’t mean to add a comment that isn’t as eloquent and fair as both of yours but I’m under the influence, I just wanted to say both of your points are astute and made me feel good!
I still dont get y they didnt just lean more into the robot aesthetic and call her The Mechanic or something like that cuz this music would make so much more sense
People are complaining because this killer is underwhelming and/or dissapointing, when its clearly our fault for hyping this up way too much. In my opinion, this chapter looks pretty decent all around despite the complaints 👍
We should have higher and better expectations no? As a game company learns, grows and develops, should they not be having higher and better expectations of themselves too. We’ve ended up with not quite a licence and not quite an original so a feeling of incompletion mixed with no horror and mid power. Edit: Music’s cool though haha, I like the 16m best.
Sucks that the most fun part of Skull Merchant is their chase music. Which I don't listen to for very long anymore because they never chase anyone and the moment I see the 3 gen setup at 5 gens, I am not staying in that match.
I'm sure they'll get to that some time in the future. During mid chapter updates, they usually provide personalized music for certain killers lacking it.
I wish they stuck with the more 'techno' theme they had with the 32 and 16 meter layers. I don't know why they switched to bongos. (And I also just wish she was more mechanical and didn't have the arm duct taped to her arm. There's a lot I could talk about regarding why I don't like her design, but to sum it up quickly: She looks too shoddy to be a Millionaire. The mask doesn't display it either, as she looks more like an ex-soldier with a modified military-esque exoskeleton. And you'd think she'd use something other than Human Skulls for her drones, right? Those don't seem as durable or as light as some kind of high-quality plastic. If they gave her more flamboyant clothing, and perhaps a more sophisticated and fancy robot arm, I think the look could work quite well. Oh, and make the mask full rather than halved. But, because Bhvr has so heavily sponsored and advertised current Skull Merchant, I doubt they'll ever change it. (or make better cosmetics in my opinion)
