In case anybody was wondering about the visuals, there are alot more to come and they will be adding them in each show. They are uploading more as we speak. Literally. The files for each of the visuals are over 10 TB in size and it takes forever to transfer to the server at the Sphere, so they are constantly transferring new files and adding them in as the residency goes on. They didn't have time to upload everything in the time between Phish's shows and the D&C shows. They talked about all of this Friday on the GD channel on SiriusXM.
So you're telling me that with all the cutting edge technology in the Sphere, they couldn't afford a good internet connection? I really need to hear this explanation on SiriusXM. 😂
@@larrym2434 you must be ignorant of how tEcHnOloGy works. It would be an offline download, has nothing to do with the internet. There is just so much data that has to be transferred because the files are abnormally large, and that takes time. The videos are in 12K resolution. I'm guessing you don't know what a TB is, but it's so large you wouldn't even use 1 TB of data on your phone in 2 years.
@@FaTalHaz3x Think harder, buddy. A TB is 1,000 GB. A USB 3.0 cable can transfer at the rate of 5Gbit/sec ( = 625MByte/sec) ... so a TB can be transferred from an external HD to a computer in 800 seconds, or less than 14 mintues. So ... a 10TB hard drive can be fedexed over night, and the whole contents can be transferred in under 140 minutes. Or with high speed fiber optic (AT&T sells fiber optic to consumers with same speed as USB 3.0 transfer) you can skip the FedEx overnight and make the transfer from Grateful Dead's production studio to Sphere computers in under 2.5 hours. Talk to your tech savvy friends if this doesn't make sense. Thank you and have a good day.
I don't know anything about the technology. If what you're saying is that much better visuals are on the way that's great. What I do know is that these aren't. This is probably my favorite dead tune and I envisioned alot more. Nine minutes in gets better
@@FaTalHaz3x OK, consider this. Say that the D&C video producers create a 10TB video file. They can overnight FedEx a 10TB hard drive (cost of HD - $250) Then, at the Sphere production studio in Vegas, they copy over the 10TB video via a USB 3.0 cable which transmits at 5Gbits/sec (= 625MB/sec). You’re smart so you know that there are 1,000GB in 1TB, so I’ll save you the math, but the file transfer will take 16,000 seconds, or just under 4.5 hours. Also, AT&T sells high speed fiber optic internet to consumers that will match the speed of a USB 3.0 cable, so instead of using FedEx, the 10TB file can be transferred over the internet in 4.5 hours. Of course, I am describing a consumer grade solution. A billion dollar operation like the Sphere could easily transfer files faster than what I have described, if they’re willing to spend a few thousand dollars on implementation. I’m still curious to know who was talking on SiriusXM, because either (1) You misheard them, or (2) they’re confused or (3) they’re blowing smoke. Thank you and have a good day.
Scott, thank you so much. You have such wonderful video from Sphere, you capture the event so well with minimal intrusive camera fiddling. You got the best seating to experience the full event. What a great job !!! Thank you for your filming and your sharing.😊
Who gives a wet f if one can afford the ticket price...? Btw, don't you think the stuff they deliver soundwise as well as visiually got a lot more elaborate? To me that really justifies the ticketfare..
Mayer is killing it imo, even though he has impossible shoes to fill. We all know no one can replace Jerry but Mayer got his stuff DOWN 🤝 I think Jerry would be proud of this continuation of their music. They’re keeping the spirit alive.
It took 9 minutes to go somewhere visual. This comes close to being my favorite dead tune. I guess you have to be there. This song deserved more. Playing is awesome
Thx a lot for this. Most be an amazing experience experiencing the music and visuals live. As always it seems though as a large part of the audience is just as occupied with their conversations.......
Did you record this all on a cell phone? It's amazing, very fluid, LOVE IT!. I live far away but now I'm right there at the Sphere. I had FOMO till now, thx to you. Will someone end up taking down all these videos? I hope not.
Inside the Sphere Bobby's vocals sounded good, prob because the total sound was perfect. You could hear each string, etc. In other words, what was behind the voice balanced the overall sound. Most every song sounded A+ in the hall.
Deus .. como queria poder ir nesse show maravilhoso. É uma pena que nossa moeda está tão desvalorizada. Pagamos 5x mais caro que nossos irmãos do norte. Parabéns aos que foram e tiveram essa experiencia incrível.
this is such an awesome tune to improvise to, I'm not a good guitar player...at all, but if you get in there you can make this sound good. Thanks for the video, couldn't be there, but this is Nice!
Went to the Friday and Saturday show at the Vegas Sphere The band was excellent oh, teal on base was incredible. If you look at the video of Casey Jones from Saturday night, watch and listen to his playing
LOTS OF MAYER HATERS HERE---THE MAN HAS IMPOSSIBLE SHOES TO FILL---GOTTA GIVE HIM THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT---WEIR WOULDN'T GIVE HIM THE TIME OF DAY IF HE WASN'T UBER TALENTED AND AN ACCEPTABLE FIT......MY 2 CENTS.....
OMG, i suggest cleaning the wax out your ears....this literally sounds like a bad practice session and Weir can't even maintain a melody with his voice !
I love Dead n Co. and I really try not to complain about the tempo cause I truly do love them. But do you think Bobby could slow down Eyes anymore? This version was so incredibly slow.
Caught a almost full show on here I think the biggest difference between shows when I was a kid and now is all the talking going on now use to could here a pin drop especially when jdrry stepped to the mike china doll comes to mind
This is what a well played, tight complex and interesting version of this song sounds like. And don't get me started on the vocals. "Lazy" summer home is right ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kuSJ0djewQU.htmlfeature=shared
