I used to be adamant I was to practice at least a half hour a day to stay good. Loved Leon and Christie. I remember doing the survival matches for so long, just kept going and going. It was very important to my 13 year old self lol

It's funny you say that. Dead or Alive 4 is basically Dead or Alive 3 in HD. I played both games back to back and only saw a difference in image quality.

To be fair though, this DOA also had a lot of outfits. But I get what you mean, it's a damn shame specially how the stages have been downgraded in the DOA5/6 era, there is nothing like the snow in that stage or the multilevel stages with so many hazards that would make even the best ones in DOA5/6 look boring in comparison.

鉄拳Tekken 5, Virtua Fighter 4 - Evolution, and Soulcalibur III were the biggest reasons why Dead or Alive turned into a fashion show, those three games did it first.

thats the thing, games on the original xbox were ahead of their time. DOA 3, Enclave, Splintet Cell 3, Ralli Sport 2, Crimson Skies, PGR 2, Riddick etc. all these games still looks nice. But picture quality is another thing, 480p looks superb on CRT, and on new HDTV's xbox games looks like blurry mess. I wish every original xbox game would run in 1080p somehow on PC. Some xbox games like Enclave and splinter cell were ported on PC and in high resolution they still looks nice.

Because most people were trying to buy PS2 instead of getting the better XBOX.

Even Dead or Alive 2 on the Sega Dreamcast looked amazing especially considering the limited hardware it was running on.

@@SK91NO I lost interest in the series after 3. The series used to be a technological showpiece, blended with great fighting mechanics. I feel that it didn't really evolve after this entry and stagnated.

The snow stage also has deforming snow on the ground. Even Tekken 7 doesn't have that (though I think 6 did).

DOA5 had lots of good things that makes DOA3 dated, but two things that DOA5 doesn’t have is a good feel and an awesome style like how DOA3 has.

PS2 wasn't powerful enough for DOA3, and was a difficult system to work with compared to the Xbox and Dreamcast.

Funny enough I was just laughing at how I was impressed by that in God of War 2018 only to come back to this and have my mind blown by an almost 20 year old game.
