The funny thing is that Ethan wanted to be Neil and Robert wanted to be Todd because it suited their personality’s more but the director said that each should play the role they got because you have to think about who they become at the end of the film and Todd opens up at the end and Neil becomes secluded at the end

I've been thinking about the same thing. And my guess is that along with talent, this kind of career also takes a certain amount of luck. And Ethan's had it.

i wouldn't say that... its a little insulting imo, esp for RSL who has had much success on tv and in live theatre.

Robert leonard had a good career too, I mean he certainly wasn't a teen idol or a super popular actor,but come to think about it Robert managed to star in a cult movie and he also played a major role in house md which was a VERY popular tv show that is known worldwide, less than 1% of all actors and actresses can say they did something like that, actually very few can make a living out of it, let alone gain financial stability from it like Robert did, also he said he enjoys stage acting more than acting on screen so he focused more on that and he's a theater star who also won a tony award for his marvellous acting. QUARTERMASTEREMI6 Yes, definitely! I really don’t like chasing actors and it wasn’t planned at all. We were just 3 people waiting for him at the exit. 10 minutes after I arrived, I saw him leaving on his own and I approached him, a bit scared. I told him that I had been following his career since DPS and that I came from Paris especially to see him. He said a few words in French and he asked if I wanted to have a picture. I was about to take a picture of him and he started laughing and said “ maybe you want to be on the picture with me?” Me: 🥴 yes of course! So someone took my phone and take a picture. He grabbed my shoulder, which I didn’t expect at all and that’s when I realized he smelled very good. Or he had just had a shower with a great shower gel. Then he thanked me for crossing the Channel and coming to see the play and he said he was going to take the metro back to his hotel. No limo, no taxi. Ah he’s the best 🤩

He really does ‘have it’, ..you can see it clearly here. Perhaps it was more of a contract issue than lack of interest. The higher up you go, the steeper the demands. I know a few talented people who cut out when the spotlight was on- various reasons. Some people sail and some people get chewed up. It’s not all fame and glory. And you have to weigh it out within yourself whether to continue or not.
