I think people forget, Carlito was NOT killed by Larry. He died from the gutshot bullet from Brad during their final fight. The point about dying amongst meat still stands, but Larry did not kill Carlito. Kidnapped him sure to grind him up, but Carlito's death was by Brad's hand not Larry's.

Yeeeeah I pre-ordered it too, not for OG Frank but I just really don't want Capcom to throw this franchise aside for another decade.

Oh boy I can't wait to spend 6 hours farming kills in the underground parking lot so I can get the Mega Buster all over again.

I mean, it's just as (if not more) ironic that Carlito, an immigrant who hates American, was about to be killed by another immigrant but was saved by a born American.

Larry redesign is kinda of stupid since his original design makes Carlitos death ironic. Kinda defeats his purpose,now it just proves Carlitos point which is big downer

When it comes to remasters, personally I love it when they take the OG, and ask “what if this was made today?” Mafia 1 answered this question with outstanding results. Breathing new life in a 2 decade old game. They added new areas, I loved it. I hope they do that, I’d love to see some new parts of the mall, or the town. Personally I wish they’d would have taken some elements from DR2 like crafting to really reinstate the core ideas of dead rising, not just a beautiful remake. But, it’s okay. I’m sure with this level of detail and ATTENTION this will sell fine to fans and newer users alike. Can’t wait to get my hands on this.

Everyone’s talking about the voice but my biggest concern is the camera. It’s definitely too close to Frank and needs to be zoomed out more like the original. At least give us the ability to change it hopefully

The og voice actor was asked about him in the remake and he said he was wasn't called for it

That fast forward option will come in handy during overtime mode. I don't know if you remember, but during overtime mode there's a lot of waiting around for the next mission to start and I remember there's not much else to do except for wait around so I was kind of just standing there. Even after you have to do the fetch quest to get all the items for the prezombrex, if you get it done fast enough you still have to wait around even more.

I will say them recasting the voice actors is pretty par for the course. They tend to do that all the time unfortunately but tj is just so darn iconic as frank.

My only gripe is why does Frank and Isabella’s hair look so gray in the entrance plaza. I mean it might be the lighting and only in the one scene but it’s bugging me. Other than that I’m impressed with everything.

Your analysis on Larry’s design was pretty interesting and I like both of his designs from what little we’ve seen but his old design kinda has some story to it too depending on how you look at it Considering Larry is either Chinese or Taiwanese and the only other non-white psychopath in the original game besides Carlito his story could provide 2 different contexts which I’m gonna get very head canon-y. 1: He’s an immigrant who adopted the American way of life and serves its people with obsession. In Carlito’s eyes he’s a traitor and a sellout who should be on his side considering the US coulda conducted their experiments anywhere including Larry’s original home and America has corrupted him to the point he represents everything Carlito hates about America but in the body of a foreigner which would arguably be even worse in his eyes as America’s ideals are polluting people that aren’t even originally from there 2: He was born in America and in Carlito’s eyes aside from appearance has been completely neutered of his culture to the point of being indistinguishable from the average American including their obsession for greed and consumerism (which is also ironic considering Nick, Diego and probably the other orphans he infected considered him a terrorist and were raised as Americans)

I only want the physical edition so I’m happy to wait but will the pre order skins be included ???

Frank looks to old in this hes supposed to be 36 here he looks like hes in his late 40s one good thing i can say is that they added stairs on the rooftop which makes getting survivors into the security room alot easier

What's funny is that after not playing this game since 2007 I recently started playing this again randomly about 3 weeks ago and thought about how awesome a remaster would be. Then literally the next morning I wake up to the announcement on my recommendations. Lol Also that being said. Amazing video. I like how you keep it real and highlight good talking points while throwing in dark humor. Highly underrated channel. I subscribed.

I think Larry is still Chinese they just made his eyes less squinty and gave him a mustache and glasses and a hat. I would of preferred they would of been a more faithful to the original I don’t see it as a caricatures I see him as a Chinese/Taiwanese immigrant butcher who kinda had a broken English accent. People should realize they are basing this frank off of his DR4 and DR2OTR design. He doesn't look older, he just looks accurate to his later games.

I'm more curious how will look like the true eyes cult and the special force ops remaster skin specially how the special ops uniform will look like when you unlock it through achievement and how look the skin of the raincoat and the green mask of the cult member and how sean the cult leader will look like with his greatsword. and final but more importantly how they will remaster brock the leader of the special force ops how he will look like and how they will remaster the fight area with him.

I like Franks redesign. Kinda like Carlos in RE3 remake. Took a second, but i ended up loving it.

The stairs is possibly the best thing for this game

I was also quite skeptical with the teaser they gave us. I do like some of the changes myself. Now we can move while aiming guns and the stairs at the air duct. I think they might even give full in game voice lines for Frank and the survivors you interact with. I'm also thinking they made Frank's new design the way it is so people will pre order the game just for the original model. Though a few things I'm not a fan of are stuff like the health bars for melee weapons. The HUD and UI look bland imo they have the functionality of the original but aren't as nice to look at. Now we have a compass with distance markers instead of the arrow comes off as a bit too hand holdy too me. Character redesigns are mostly good Isabella's is my favorite she looks very much like the some of the original concept art now. Jessie looks ok her nose, jaw and mouth are a bit off imo. I never understood the issue with larry being offensive so it was a bit of a shock seing him completely changed. I'm also wondering does anyone else think the lighting is a bit much the shadows look a bit too dark and the lights sometimes look too blinding and hazey. Some of this might've been a bit nit pickey I just have a huge love for this franchise especially the first game and I'm hoping Capcom can fully bring it back to its former glory.

Kinda makes me wonder what older Frank will look like in the second Dead Rising if they ever get to that XD I hope with the amount of added zombie content from the betas, that the Capcom devs know that the current release of DR2 straight up is missing two substantial story dlcs.

Adam the clown looks great that’s for sure. He’s the definition of why people hate clowns. Larry change catch me off guard because he was part of the reason why an important character die in the end of game. His original character design in my opinion was one of the scariest characters in the game so the fear factor from him kind got debunked but we will see when the game comes out.

Is he going to be in the same place but chained to the dolphin or will it be a different area of the paradise plaza?

Just hope they do go all the way presentation wise. Cutscene to gameplay transitions? Was the OG one seamless map? I dont think so afaik there were loading times. Brad was the one who killed Carlito, not the Butcher. He shot him in the stomach and, after Frank saved Carlito from the Butcher, he succumbed to his wound.

Capcom changed the face and voice because that’s honestly just what they do. Resident evil is a much larger franchise with characters that are way more beloved… and those characters can’t even retain a face and voice beyond a single game. So the voice and face change isn’t a red flag to me. They do with with their largest franchise, no surprise they did it here as well.

If game companies kept their remakes(boots) of games to the same tone and feeling that the originals had. I would never see a problem with buying the same game, but with remakes(boots) taking liberties to change iconic areas, cutscenes and character dialogue and just straight up removing big areas of the game that were memorable to gamers is a big problem because then if they plan an remaking all of their titles for the newer generation of consoles and pc and people in general really like the game then they can just go and change tons of key moments that have been implanted in our brains since we first played them. That’s also one of my fears with the upcoming Snake Eater remake is that a lot of changes may come into the game that drastically changes how the original made you feel and the emotions you got from playing the game
