I think Carlito constantly dropping well-done steaks is a hint at why he started the outbreak. The US military were trying to mass-produce cattle for meat in Santa Cabeza.
I wouldn't be surprised, but a few other Psychopaths do as well. I think the steak was used if there wasn't a mixed drink that fit in with that character for them. But I like the idea.
Small tip about Japanese radish. Japanese radish are often used as stealth pun as, in japan Japanese radish are slang for "ham actor/bad actor" Daikon Yakusha 大根役者 So, Adam dropping JP radish are way the Capcom JP dev for saying he's a "clown". Also, any mature woman dropping JP radish are also stealth insult of them having "radish foot = fat".
It may sound stupid but I think Tad drops only a cheese because being either a hostage for Kent its a play on the phrase "Say Cheese" when taking a picture
Awesome vid! Years later and someone took the dedication to explain step by step each survivor appearing in this mode. Appreciate the extra analysis on their inventories and what they could mean.
Infinity mode really should have given the player a pop up, like the scoop parts from the Campaign that a survivor/boss has spawned, where they are and how much time left you have to get to them. Would have made this mode way more fun.
To be fair, I get why they didn't - it's to encourage exploration. If anything, I think Off The Record should have done that. I think the inability to fast forward time/save is far more detrimental to the mode.
@@JakeJakersyeah, interesting video never thought I’d see a video talking about this stuff. For the exploration in infinity mode I know the game so well I know the survivor spawn times and locations that there’s no need to explore. If some made a randomizer for this mode randomizing enemy spawn locations, times, weapons they use and food/weapons I’d play that. It was interesting to see psychos like Adam in Paradise Plaza.
@@JakeJakersmaybe they could've made it so that you could eat food when you didn't need to and it would just add a surplus to Frank's food meter. That way your inventory could be more free and high scores wouldn't be from just sitting in a room, eating snacks every 19 minutes and 59 seconds.
I've always loved infinity mode, it's fun as FUCK I appreciate you still making content about dead rising after all these years, hardly anyone had documented infinity mode, I have done this once on 360 and it was very stressful, I got to get the lasersword after all but died while afk unfortunately because I went to go eat at a restaurant, but now the game is on the xbox one I should replay this mode, I used to do it for fun 💀 also extreme respect for using a save without the mega buster, legend
I do feel for you because you wanted to get the arthur's boxers. I know if you make it to 5th day, you automatically get your lasersword which you get to use any time once you reach Day 5. I know how infinite mode is like. It means you have to more like not be busy and be available to attempt this mode even if you know you will lose a lot of sleep at home.
If you have a series X it makes it so much easier. You can just use quick resume and play other games when you get burnt out and just return later. Some strats that helped me back in the day on 360 was the 3 health magazines and the mega buster makes it a walk in the park
26:55 It's funny/ironic you say that considering Rays face model was the same one used in the cutscene where Jesse turns into a zombie and kills both the special forces soldiers.
Finally decided to come around and go for 7d survivor before DRDR comes out. Thanks so much for this guide! Super informative and made my run a breeze.
Infinity Mode is one of those things I could never get far into as a kid, between not knowing the books' true power, generally sucking at the game, and even if I had all the knowledge and skill, I grew up in a household where TV use was at a premium and I was always back of the line. Now, I can't get into it because I have a part time job, a RU-vid Channel, and other hobbies and games that interest me. So it's nice to at least see it through you. At least discovering your channel some months back got me to go back through the story mode.
Thanks so much for this, at first I thought this would be a cool way to kill 30 minutes and just watch. But it inspired me to do infinity mode one more time, and try to survive as long as possible, using survivor foods before I touch mall food. Currently on day 13....I think....ive been in the movie theater with a lot of food since midway through day 12....anyway, great detail, great vid.
The game mode would have replay value if you can save and get infinite food like in the story mode. The health going down was a nice touch, so was adding survivors as enemies
I wish 3 had an infinity mode. I loved it in 1, but it wouldve made more sense in 3 (being a huge city and all) plus the psychopaths could be thrown around everywhere. Like finding the buffet girl Darlene in a morgue or something. Also, i wish infinity mode incentivized (or at least rewarded) photography. Im not thinking health, im thinking....maybe horror photos would eventually give boosts to blades, drama would give extra ammo, erotica....hmm....comedy could give you a large boost to "unconventional" methods of killing zombies. Not permanent though. Just enough to give you something to do, CAUSE MAN, overtime needs it. I just sat in a room with fully stocked food, playing guitar for the whole day (FOURTEEN HOURS!) couldnt even leave and come back. OR ALTERNATIVELY they xould give infinity mode different focuses. Drama would cause more psycopaths, comedy would cause more zombies to stumble and have them be more likely to spawn pushing carts and stuff. horror would cause way more to spawn (raincoat arent even IN infinity mode, what the hell!?) Erotica could make all the zombies scantilly clad. Just for FLAAAAAAVOR ya know?
I got a idea i think would be neat, before the start of Infinity mode what if you can choose your options so you can raincoat guys spawning in, more goofy survivors attacking you, a scary zombie you are appose to avoid that roams different areas... And probably a jukebox to listen to Gone Guru.
@@Subject_Keter that would be DOPE. I'd just spawn in a stupid amount of the raincoat guys. More! MORE! Maybe in the park with the convicts, just hundreds of those creeps getting flattened by the gta trio. Weeeeeeeeeeell!
Sadly, we can't even use the camera in Infinity mode. A shame. I would have liked to photograph characters in areas other than their storymode locations, such as Steven and Alan.
@@HESHRocketWarhead YEAH! what was up with that! i always thought it was super weird. Also that the game should have let you earn experience to level up past 50 (just for health.) I mean, they'd have to make it so you couldn't sustain yourself, but there'd be enough incentive to play the game and take photos instead of just cowering in a corner.
Finally!!! I did infinity mode on 360 without the mega buster, and searching for a runner that doenst use it is near impossible. So happy I found you then lol. Doing this on the ps4 on this very moment and will finish the run before DRDR is out in 3 weeks. Im hyped!
I still remember the day when I completed Infinity Mode on my Xbox360 and wanted to check on every hostile surivor's location and what they dropped. It was worth it. I need to do the same on PC
Love to see another DR1 fan, this game is so underrated and is a certified staple for the Next Gen systems, thank you for going thru the torture of Infinity mode btw 🤣🙌🏾
Series X quick resume has made infinite mode so much easier. You can go play another game and the session will be suspended so you can just go back whenever you want
HEADS UP: Survivors in DELUXE REMASTER spawn at random times and with random drops. Any enemy can now randomly drop a single item too. However, the map now reveals when there's a character hiding in a location (although who is there and where they are isn't told)
@@JakeJakers Lmao was not expecting that response. To each there own but makes sense because all you have to do with her is Knock sense into Paul and bring her through the shortcut
In terms of favourite survivor situation, it's probably David for me honestly. The scoop itself is practically free because David is a lone survivor that you can also move yourself with ease. Doing so also provides grab immunity, although you may still catch a stray hit or two while pushing through zombies. His situation and mission name are also rough as well. Shadow of the North Plaza. And when you get information on him, the mall's power is off, meaning the entire place is plunged into darkness, North Plaza included. Moreover, he's stuck in the darkness with a busted leg from fleeing from Steven, so he's just holed up in a terrible hiding spot, expecting the inevitable. It looks pretty grim for David, until Frank shows up.
a possible meaning to greg not having a frying pan and his push broom being broken is that since its been several days so his frying pan broke and so did the broom
Honestly, I love this game and the story and explanation for the zombie outbreak is really interesting because it really could happen it's a shame the franchise died.
I remember when I got 7 day survivor a few years back, something I’ll never do again. Definitely a one and done kinda thing 😂 14 hours without being able to save is insane, I can’t believe I actually did it aha
I used to think inf. Mode not returning in the later games was a shame..... then I played it and realized how long the devs expect me to leave my game on to unlock everything. What this mode need was a save spot that deletes itself upon death
That's referred to as "Quick Saves". New Super Mario Bros. does it on the Wii when saving away from a castle. It's a save that deletes itself upon being loaded.
Is it possible that you did not sleep for 2 days in real time? Because you made it to Day 9. Normally, a successful achievement is going up to 7 days. I know in my past experience, I had started infinite mode at 5 am and then I made it to a 7th day at around 10:00 pm. You most likely have to already started infinite mode in the middle of the night and then when you made it to the 9th day, you most of ended up not going to bed for 2 days. Normally, anyone who gets their 7th day achievement would of hurry to bed.
@@JakeJakers I take it you described auto-shutdown features as your pausing your game features. I know you cannot save the game but at least it lets you pause. This has got to be ideal for anyone who is going to quarantine and not leave the house. I am sure you also must eat something and take bathroom breaks and that must be where your pause features come in. I am also sure this can be a moment where you order pizza to defeat the purpose of leaving your house because that pizza guy can knock on your door and all you have to do is pause your game. Cookies will be a good choice for this mode. So basically, junk food is a good food choice when attempting infinite mode. Taking 5 hour nap is not that bad since we all are humans. We need sleep, we need food. We need hygenes. etc.
I wish they had a mode like this without the constant heath drain. It would be fun to run through it and dick around killing everything.i remember falling asleep and waking up with the day counter. The last thing i remember i was barricaded in the bar at the food court. Thankfully i got the achievement. This and the dead space 2 hardcore achievement run i did in the course of like a week randomly in june. I literally killed nicole with the last bullet. Fuk that was intense. I always wished you could go in the parking lot and find whatever dropped out of the helicopter. When i first played it 06 i figured we'd get it back :/
I wouldn't be against it, but it'd be nothing beyond locations since there's no drops. I wouldn't be doing much beyond reading the wiki page at that point.
They're based on time. Bosses have two spawns: one in their canonical location, and one in a different one. Typically Their alternate locations are meant to take advantage of their moveset (Larry in the North Plaza uses more of his meat cleaver since it's his only option, the Hall family in the park have infinite range over the whole area, Wonderland Plaza and the Warehouse make it harder to escape from Adam and Kent respectively, etc). Some bosses don't follow this rule, however: - Carlito never spawns in different locations, thanks to both how hard-coded his AI is, and how unfair his attacks can be. Might also be because he already has three encounters that spawn twice each, however. - The convicts only spawn in Leisure Park since it's the only place big enough to fight them. - Cliff only spawns in the Home Saloon because his attack style relies on the trap doors. - Brock and Steven never spawn in their normal locations because both are inaccessible.
@@JakeJakers if I knew how to change some of of the games code, I would put some of the enemies in random locations like putting sniper Carlito in leisure Park and see how the AI behaves. It be interesting to see what if you could put the convicts in the mall somewhere or in the maintenance tunnel.
False. The Cooked Pizza with the 3 health books gives you a full heal. Uncooked gives you 6 blocks. False again. Melted Ice Pops along with thawed vegetables and most of the vegetables like corn, zucchini, etc. with 3 health books heals you 3 blocks. Not 1. (yes it also includes rotten foods...) Some fruits (Orange, Apples and Yougurt) will heal you 6 blocks with the 3 health books.
I think all those descriptions are referring to the food items in general, assuming you don't have the books. So Corn, Zucchini etecetera would all be classed as 1-health block items if you don't have the books, because that's their base power.
