17:10 100% how it is meant to be. The music stings don't come in at fixed points, they come in when you look at the necromorphs, which means they can sneak up on you just like that. Was the same in the original game and that's one of the things that made it such an effective horror.

Doubt Luke will since it seems to be more of a fancy pricy remaster to look new than a actual remake unlike Resident Evil 2 (2019) and 3 (2020) which were built from the ground up

@@oxfanblink4115 This is a ground up rebuild, they just stayed 100 percent faithful to the original design and plot and added elements of the 2 sequels into it as well as cut content from the original, the Resident Evil remakes actually cut most of the og content and ended up being shorter, Dead Space is the closest thing to remake perfection as I have ever played....EVER! I so hope they redo the rest of the franchise with this much love and finally give us the 4th game ending we have been waiting on for 15 years. and for the record Ellen's soul nearly left her body playing the original so I think this one which is a million times more scary now would actually kill her lol

"why build that, no door should have that much hydraulic power" ironically the murder doors probably started as a safety feature. if an area depressurises, or needs to be sealed for another reason (radiation, bio contaminant, etc), the door would need to close quickly and with enough force to prevent anything from keeping it wedged open. add a glitch where the system keeps trying to trigger what's called 'emergency forced closure' repeatedly and boom, murder doors.

Like Jekebe mentioned it might be redundant since it’s seemingly more of a refurbish than a full on ground up built remake. Like Fnaf could be because of Poppy Playtime similarity with toys except Kissy Missy (for now anyway)trying to murder you like the animatronics

Mike, you have a valid point about using your blood to write instructions as you die. However, given that the marker has proven to have adverse effects on people's mental state.. it's hard to say what anyone would do with their blood in that scenario

I feel like Jane would know that it probably would be necessary for the doors on a deep-space vessel to have the kind of pneumatic power to stay closed and locked in the event of a hull breach. Each door has to act as a bulk-head capable of withstanding a pressure differential without failing itself open, which means engineering for strength.

So I have zero contrast between regular life and the new horrors of their existence. 99.99% of Dead Space is a dude killing aliens. I don't remotely feel like a miner fighting cosmic horrors, just a standard video game horror-fighter.

22:45 Technically the engineering part of the job was back when he read the screen and talked to the others about what to do, after that getting the chip was the job of a courier and installing it was the job of a technician. As for the broken tram blocking the use of trams, the Engineering part was going there and figuring out to use stasis to hold the faulty claw closed. The actual use of stasis was once again the job of technicians. Also in case anyone thinks Isaac is just a repair guy or not a very good engineer, one text document in game actually talks about Isaac as basically being one of the best and why he is going out with a doctor who got a job on the Ishimura. She's also his last living family if you consider long lasting relationships the same as marriage so he obviously ran and pulled strings to get on the repair mission.

@@thejason755 yeah it was only because he was worried about his girlfriend, the guy was on the level of designing super complex innovations, servicing the first ever planet cracker? super beneath him. But I love how they made use of this backstory in the trilogy even if in the originals it was barely mentioned. Isaac is not just good in his main job but can pull apart machinery to extract the parts he then uses as weapons, mods all his equipment on the fly and uses parts of the ship in unique ways to fight off the necromorphs. This might seem strange but IRL Professionals of the highest calibre are usually like this.

Maybe the reason the doors can shut with such power and speed is in case a section of the station is breached, then that section can quickly be sealed off preventing the whole station from decompressing.

Oh, I know this part of Dead Space 1 by heart. I've tried to play this game 3 or 4 times over the years, but always had to give up after a few levels. Usually around the monster baby part. I love the concept of the gameplay in Dead Space, I'm just not the horror game type.

The stores are selling ammo during what was listed in the logs as a boarding that hasn't been pushed back. It's nice to see that the old logic still works in the remake, and that infectors still can't turn torsos into necromorphs! Imagine if the folks who built the remake added a new necromorph that's a torso with the ribcage morphed into centipede legs!
