A lot of people don't know that Lord Alfred Hayes was actually a professional wrestler in England before he came to the US and suffered a career ending injury. He stayed close to the sport before becoming an commentator for the WWF. I still remember his voice vividly. He brought a unique perspective to the commentator's table and is sorely missed.
Ultimate Warrior is a demonstration of excellence for me. Nothing gives me that "running" feeling like watching some of his old matches. To my childhood hero and role model, The Ultimate Warrior.
It's a damn shame I must've counted around 25 or so wrestlers from this video with whom I've watched as a kid and throughout my teen and adulthood that's no longer with us. Of all I would say the ultimate warrior's death hurt me the most. RIP to all ! So sad.
Whoa! We've lost so many. I had no idea that some of them like The Big Bossman had left us. So heartbreaking. I grew up watching so many of them in the WWF. I hope you are all in a better place, and thank you for the memories.
and the sad part is when its due to drugs or suicide you wont even get a memorial from wwe -- test died at 33 and wwe didnt even give him a glance bc it was overdose, shits foul
RIP To all those wrestlers who put their bodies on the line for our entertainment , us fans will support and may everyone un this video rest in peace :( Thank you for the memories...
I spent many a Saturday morning in my youth in front of the TV screen watching these guys go at it in the ring. Very iconic characters from a very memorable time in my life. They will be missed.
YOUR MESSAGE IS SO VERY POIGNANT!!!! IT BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES!!! IT WAS MY YOUTH ALSO !! I LOVED WATCHING GEORGIA CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING!!!! AND GOING TO WRESTLING MATCHES WITH MY GRANDPARENTS!!! GOD I MISS IT !!! ✡🖤✡🖤
When Owen Hart died I lost my best friend that day even though I didn't know him personally he has always been one of my favorites and even though I still Love and enjoy professional wrestling and still watch it religiously it isn't the same without him he probably would be retired today but I feel that his career was just beginning and it is sad when I think of all that he could have done
Same here David. It's like a member of the family has died. I don't watch wrestling as much as I did as a kid. The sound track is awesome. These guys can sing and really harmonize. Who knows ...there may be wrestling in Heaven! People make the most of the years you have left and do something nice for someone every now and then.
5:15 Killer Kowalski with the "claw hold" was a regular in Melbourne in the late 1960's on GTV 9's World Championship Wrestling. It was on after church and Mums the roast chicken dinner every Sunday. The host was an old American bloke called Jack Little and Australian Paul Jennings was his co host.
I haven't watched WWE since 2006 but, damn man. Seeing all this just puts it all in perspective, doesn't it? I can remember like it was yesterday seeing these guys actively on TV. Eddie, Benoit, Test, Chris Kanyon, Perro Aguayo Jr., etc..etc.. Remember that nothing lasts forever guys. Cherish this life, for you'll never get another chance.
This Video makes me so sad i cant descripe how sad..........i saw a lot of this guys in my childhood there was hereos for me........is so sad to see people you loved die this sport takes to manny guys to young to the dead i hope one day we see again r.i.p
What you said is true . But also the life these guys lived even up to the mid 90s with the constant travel on very little rest and yes the roids and also alcohol to help them sleep and kill there pain .
Dan Dark some die a few years after being born Or right after being born (A person that should be my oldest sibling but aren't because they are dead) And I only found that out not too long ago
This is absolutely ridiculous these men and women are dying young . This is messed up they should all be all alive instead of 6ft under the ground. 😔😔😔😢😢. Rip to these men and women
God damn I miss Eddie and Chris so badly, they were my favorite wrestlers when I was a kid, I remember where I was when I heard about Eddie's death and I remember where I was when I heard that Crish died, I remember that I cried all day ( on both days) they always made me smile, it was horrible I was only 8 years old, now this year I'm turning 21 years old and I still haven't forgotten about them. Rest in peace Eddie Guerrero and Crish Benoit. edit: yeah I wasn't 8 when Crish died I was 10 I hope nobody got triggered.
@@darthpryce litteraly Chris is still fucking human. Jesus Christ so if your mom committed murder you wouldn't say R.I.P if she died? That's not right.
i am not saying that Verne Gage or dusty Roads or the hot rod where bad wrestlers it is sad that the wwe dont show how the older wrestlers and advertise them and that are not with us anymore and how they wrestle back then and if it was not for the older wrestlers the wwe wont be where it is today
I remember seeing Art Barr's dad ref, Stan Stasiak, Buddy Rose, Curt Hennig, and beloved Roddy Piper on cards here in Portland... an Jimmy Snuka before he was Superfly.. my sister, a friend of ours, and I went as often as we could.. we were also there when the death of Lonnie "Moondog" Mayne was announced, and the following special scheduled card in memoriam Barely a dry eye in the arena.
Amazing how many i didnt realize passed, sad to see most of them were young under 50yrs old. RIP to all and thanks for the memories, it was what i looked forward to on Saturday nights.
Feel so heartbroken after watching few of my favourites are no more. British bulldog, macho man and my all time favourite the ultimate warrior. Had no idea so many if them had passed away, grew watching these legends wrestle. A big thank you for entertaining us. May ur soul RIP. 😢😢😢😢
This is just going back to the 90s it goes back even further, and they die young. Its a tough life for a wrestler, because inly a few make it big time. and while the results are pre determined the acrobatics are real and injury does occur, also many arent paid well and have to travel a lot, and rely on drugs to kill the pain and stay awake. Then many also have tax issues bc they are paid 1099, many people arent aware how that affects you tax wise until irs wont get off your back.
It's a damn shame we've lost so many talented athletes and entertainers over the years. Pro wrestlers are larger than life and the greatest athletes of all time. All of them will be immortalized in our memories. Rest in Peace.
They were our entertainment icons we grew up watching them getting entertained with them watching them again takes us back to our childhood memories they r not here in our real world but will live in our hearts forever. Rip my favorite entertainers
It’s sad to me that most of these men have never or rarely been featured in WWE video games. Every year it’s the same legends but wrestling history is so much deeper.
What do we learn from this? If you wanna grow old, don't you become a wrestler! And yet I have memories from my childhood! It seems to me they died young just to entertain us. Rest in Peace! You deserved it!
@@isabellawhite9931 yeah, no. Chris Benoit still murder his family, its more like burn in hell at Chris, idc who you, or what you have, it's still murder regardless
@@ItsTheRemixaa look it was terrible what he did but his mental health was terrible and his brain made him kill his family he should be remembered for his wrestling and not what he did to his family
As much as I hate to say this, this video really lends some credence to the NFL's desire to make the game safer. Wrestling isn't real fights, but that doesn't mean that the impacts these guys took weren't real. How many of the names here died before the age of 50? How many died before the age of 40 even? I know some were due to reasons that weren't necessarily related to wrestling, but it has to make you think.
Talking about dying before 50. Look up the number of wrestlers that all went to high school together with Ric Rude, Road Warrior Animal and 5 or 6 more. Hawk grew up in the same town and a bunch of them were bouncers together, at the same time. Out of the 7 or 8, 4 died before they reached 50.
I Grew up in the 90s wrestling was my getaway from a abusive household.....the entertainment really gave me life and the reactions during interviews were also classic....I tried getting every wrestling game including the ones with the hall of famer wrestlers on them as well...I'm hurt to hear Randy Savage, Chyna, ultimate warrior, Eddie , Chris Benoit and his family is also gone SMH these were some of the wrestlers I used to cheat with on video games lol I miss the paper view party's my family used to throw SMH 90s please come back😔💯💙
Pro Wrestling is brutal on their bodies, plus the recent use of drugs did not help many of them. Still, it terrible that the business does not do something to take care of them after they are no longer wrestling and making money for the promotions. I watched Pro Wrestling from the 1980's up to 2005 give or take. Most of the wrestlers and people in the business I grew up watching on TV re gone now or no longer wrestling. Sad, but true and Impossible to avoid.
I'm quite surprised not to see the great George Kidd included here. Kidd, born in Dundee Scotland in 1925 died on 5th January 1988, and was recognised as one of the finest wrestlers on the planet in his time.
We will all die at some point. Some of us while we are still young, others when we are older than dirt. Overall live each day as if it were your last, as it very well may be.
So many Superstars of the Golden Era are Died. Incl. Texas Tornado. Mr Perfect. Andre the Giant. Bam Bam Bigelow. Crush. Big Boss Man. Earthquake. Yokozuna. Ultimate Warrior. Randy Savage . Sensationell Sherry. Miss Elisabeth. Chyna. Britisch Bulldog. Owen Hart. Jimmy Snuka. Viscera. Eddy Guerrero. Hawk. Roddy Piper. Dusty Rhodes . Vader uva RiP
These were the best times of wrestling.... The best days... the stone cold and rock years were okay, but these were the gems. I still think the Ultimate Warrior Rick Rude Summer Slam Intercontinental title match is still one of the best matches of all time.... RIP
