There are captions. Also, ASL is for America, not other countries like Iceland, where this seems to take place. If you know ASL, you probably won't understand signs in another country.
Leah Dempsey I guess my captions were not working at the time. I understand half of what they were saying. It's called international language, body language and facial expressions. I could figure out what they were saying. I do not sign Iceland sign language. Deaf people can understand acting out and gestures. Like they signed sexy and that is the same. They signed enter the home the same. It was still very interesting to watch them act. Cute performance.
I am from the United States and I know ASL. Can you please tell me where these guys are from? I would like to know which sign language they are using. I found similarities to ASL but many of the signs were clearly different and I found it very interesting.
Actually it's Icelandic Sign Language. Each country, and even some regions within a country, has a different sign language complete with different signs and even grammatical structure. It's not universal.
i'm sorry that i bullied you! it's just that so many people are against CI and i don't understand it. they are so full of intolerance and this really hurts me so much! i think sign-language is very important, also if someone has CI then it's so important to be able to sign too!!!!! but for some people CI is a great gift. everyone can decide by hisself and i think that should be respected! thanks a lot for your comment friend and i hope you can accept my deep apology. so sorry.
can't believe i had to re watch it second time because first time i didn't have subtitles... I was waiting for a joke about deaf people or something but damn :/ PS: i don't mean to insult anyone here:)
I thought it was a little funny. I pretty much got the gist. I'm hearing, but my hearing is gradually fading and I've signing for about a year and a half to two years. But no, it wasn't fake signing at all, just not asl. Different country, different signs. As Olivia stated, it's not universal. Personally, I'd rather be deaf vs having a CI....MAYBE a hearing aid, but overall, I'd rather just be deaf.
Aside from NOT understand the sign languages because I only know ASL and obviously this isnt ASL, its funny video! I like it! Even the video is AWESOME because of different sign laugauge! I love it! Can you tell me what country sign languages are you using?
Ive known ASL for 2 years now, it wasnt easy learning it takes a lot of patince. If you really ready to start learing I would recomend going over brief history then going on youtube to a one to one lesson channle
Don't make judgments, you don't know me or know what I think. I'm just saying what I have been told by my teacher and other people who have had cochlear implants and their experiences. It's not my opinion, just what I have been told
Most comments are dumb about what sign language the video is in, not about what it attempts to convey. I am not Icelandic nor Danish, still I got much of the content. The content concerns the issue how the CI hits the Deaf Community. CI presents so much hope to some deaf individuals for a better place in the hearing world like getting a hearing girlfriend. At end, it turns out to be a false hope as shown at the end of the video. Therefore, the video is good literarily. Very intelligent!
You didn't say so earlier. Your comment seems like as a matter of fact which it's not. Of course I don't know you, so why say it? I have esp? No. Btw, many teachers are audists. Yes, it's a matter of fact. If you're interested to know if it's true, then you can research.
@zaca1997 'shut up' isn't a valid answer because it was a rhetorical question. Your ignorance to the Deaf and their community and culture is a sad thing. I don't want to waste my time or energy on someone who as no respect for other people. So, this is my "have a nice day." Good-bye.
It's better to remove cochlear when hearing person is young. Being Deaf from young helps to increase spatial skills, wider peripheral vision, more chance to dream in colors and drive safer. But people like you, bigotry, won't allow that.
I tried to give your comment a thumb down, but it doesn't work. You're stereotyping minority of Deaf people for that reason. Some or most Deaf people don't want CI, just because they're happy to be who they are and don't want to take risks. CI is dangerous.
Um can you translating for me because I don't understand what did they said in foreign sign language? I knew what they talked about CI...actually a dorky guy was totally funny! :) Of course I'm an american and speak English and ASL :)
True. But with every surgery, there are side-effects. My deaf co-workers explained to me that it can cause retardation and blindness. It can even make the extent of hearing much worse than without the cochlear implant.
@kle7777 uber rude and insensitive. Deaf live in a hearing world and often have to do their best to communicate with hearing people and voicing can often help. Your comments not funny, it's mean and can be taken as oppressive.
This is not funny at all I am deaf and thats not funny to me I can type and write I just can talk I am deaf yes deaf my teacher teachs me new hand sign and teachs me how to type out words on the computer
I understand almost none of this sign language except I can tell that the guy who had a glue stick taped to his hair really wants to hear and the other guy, really wants silence for all.
I didn't understand the signs in this video due to being an American Deaf and only knowing ASL. But I understood the feelings and the plot. Nicely done guys. Thanks for this awesome video about how coclear implants can be bad for your health. CI is dangerous people! Before you consider getting one consider all the health problems and risks.
Some people can be soo mean to the deaf!!!!!! I knew 3 deaf kids who were in my 5th grade class, amazing people. Dont be mean to thr deaf PLEASE SSSSSS
