I'm Deafheaven fan since Sunbather and I'm loving this direction. It comes so naturally from every album they've done so far. I think live will be amazing - change from song like Baby Blue to In Blur and then switch to Dream House? I only dream to witness this one day. Is it gonna be their best album? Probably not but I'm gonna love this as much as every other release. This still sounds so much like Deafheaven I fell in love with

I remember listening to that album for the first time and I was like "wow that was the blandest most boring and non-memorable rock record ever. every song just blurred together". and then I remember going back to it like "okay what if I don't think about this as a rock record, but as a dream pop record? lol" and then it was a relaxing and enjoyable listen hahaha

Been listening to them since Sunbather, and I love this new style they're working with. Really only a few bands can make that switch, and yes, people are thrown off at first, but it also makes complete sense. I always had a feeling that they would eventually do clean vocals on their albums, and have more of a shoegaze/new wave sound.

Deafheaven just do NOT disappoint, very few bands have been on such a consistent roll of quality whilst refusing to sit in place and stagnate! Also yeah, please check out "Don't Freak Out" by Lilhuddy, possibly the catchiest song I've heard all year

first listen was weird, been around since Sunbather and i was predicting this direction but didn't pay attention to it. At first i was taken a bit back, i was expecting a more gut punching performance and first listen didn't give that. Weird thing is, after the second listen you really get the feel of the complexity and simplicity and how they balance it so well you forget the "old" deafheaven and just enjoy it. such a good record.

been looking forward to hearing what you guys would think of this. 100% agree that it’s a massive departure for them, but then again, I don’t know, it’s still very Deafheaven? even without the trademark screams or the more black metal stuff… anyway, can’t wait to listen to the whole album! thanks for another great reaction!

I’m sort of a Deafheaven fan. I really enjoyed Sunbather. I thought this song was fantastic. I love the Britpop, shoegaze elements, and the album is well recorded with good performances. I’m sure plenty of die hard fans of the band will have a problem with it, but it’s unlikely Deafheaven fans will lose their minds as much as black metal fans would if you lumped them into that genre. First time seeing the channel. Well done on the video.

First time hearing them. It's reminding me of Smashing Pumpkins, that intensity but subtle too. I understand that's not normal for them, like it anyway. Good reaction

You need to check out the band Laurenne/Louhimo. It's a collaboration of two amazing female singers from the bands Battle Beast and Smackdown (both bands well worth to check out too). The song "Bitch Fire" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iftV4Gv5t-c.html is pure metal and The Reckoning ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rtNPw5717LE.html is more melodic hard rock/heavy metal.

I’ve been a fan of Hundredth since the beginning and their progression from Hardcore to Shoegaze has been incremental and seamless from each album to the next. They’ve nailed everything they’ve done

That's album of the year for you guys!!! Greetings from Switzerland. This is a natural Progression for this guys. They are massive fans of Oasis, The Smiths, Alcest and Slowdive. SHOEGAZE in dominating the scene ( Loathe, Don Broco, Hundreth and so many others)

Big fan of Deafheaven. I've not listened that much to this album yet, but I like it. Some of the tracks are perhaps a bit boring, but I like it overall. I'm honestly surprised they didn't explore this direction earlier. I didn't really enjoy their previous album at first either, but it grew on me.

eh, so sad about IG. I love shoegaze, but I can't say I love Deafheaven's take on it. Totally fine with bands switching up their sound, but, not when it's a regression from previous albums
