Your analytical discussion about the IE 300 was superb. I just received mine yesterday and immediately having the left ear disconnect was not something I’m happy about. Then finding out Sennheiser no longer “supports” this IEM because a company called Sonova (Switzerland based) overtook the Sennheiser Consumer Division so I’d have to talk with them about a replacement if I kept it. For me I’m going to return it to Amazon and hopefully get a better one but I keep hearing more and more about people who’ve had them for awhile and dealing with the disconnect concerns me. These aren’t cheap! In the mean time im using my Truthear x Crinacle Zero’s for gaming and they are great. Great review and pacing. Subscribed.
While not ideal, you can very easily remove the recessed portion with an xacto knife and they work perfectly. That's what I did with mine immediately and have 0 regrets.
My ie300s present intermittent sound cut out in both ear pieces, but mainly the left one, and it ain't the phone jack that's faulty. What is the recessed portion? Is this the 1 millimeter-ish lip of plastic on the cable that touches the metal pin connector?
Had these for 10 months... used only at my desk, had never removed the cable and one day out of the blue the left bud withdrew from life for no apparent reason. It is not the cable as my right bud still works on both ends - I wouldn't mind finding an improved specialized cable as I loved using these. Been waiting a couple of weeks for a response from Sennheiser... no response Quite sad as I really enjoyed these and I'm very hesitant to order anything else from the brand now.
I just bought mine yesterday and love these iems but i as soon as i got home was so excited to try them my right ear phone hasnt got a nice connection feels loose compare to the left. I unplugged and put a lot of pressure to seat it properly fixed the problem but does get loose if u tamper since u have to adjust the line around your ear. Pretty disapointed as i paid $475 in AUD. Spending that much money you would expect a flawless product. And from my research people have returned these with the same issue 2 times and still have issues its just luck of the draw even some who have tried 3 different pairs. Just going to probably return them and buy something else in that price range. Any recommendations? i want them more for gaming but for music also anything you know that are similiar to these with no issues? nice review compare to most nobody states about how the cable is very hard and expensive to find. nice video thumbs up
Sennheiser won't fix these any longer. My right earpiece stopped working like many others & they said no to any fix. I can get a whopping 20% off a new purchase...WHOOOPY!!!
There's a 2 year warranty on these. They should absolutely fix them or replace them with something better. I've seen some people get them replaced with the IE 600 for free because there's no 300 stock anymore.
I really wish you'd review the budget IEMs. I just need something with a wire and a microphone that will get the mids right and let me know where the enemies are.
