I'm so sorry for how ignorant and rude people can be. I was just having this conversation with my mom about how homosexuality is not a choice and that I don't believe it is a sin. Love is love and it's all that really matters in this world. Keep spreading your love and positivity. Those of us who are truly here for Caleb and Cameron will remain loyal and uplifting followers. I'll never understand how people can't seem to follow the golden rule. If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all. Love you guys! I hope you all have an amazing Christmas with your families and that all the traveling went smoothly!

Cam made me cry because hearing his frustration just got to me. It makes me feel sick to know that there are so many like you and Cameron who are criticized and ridiculed for simply being who you born to be. I'm sorry you have to deal with this. What really jumped out at me when Cam was reading his post was when he said something to the effect of "God may have made Adam and Eve, but he also made Cameron and Caleb." Love that. I enjoy watching both of you. Your love for each other is obvious and it makes me smile! Enjoy your holiday with family and friends.

I like what Cameron said but I agree with Caleb in his response. What you said will fall on deaf ears and isn't worth being angry about. There are ignorant people in the world. Be the light. Don't respond to their darkness.

I am not someone that usually comments on vlogs but I’m sorry Caleb - I can’t agree with you. There will always be those people that choose ignorance and fear as their guideposts. You cannot get down to their level. You will never get them to understand your point of view or make even the smallest dent into their toxic beliefs no matter how nice you are or how inoffensive you try to be. No one should tolerate hate. Everyone *should* get angry about it and speak out loud and clear. In the words of Dr. King, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Personally, I thought Cameron’s response to that person was far more respectful and diplomatic than she deserved. And on another note - congrats on all the good stuff coming your way!!

The first time I heard that same comment about “Adam and Steve” was in a church, which is why I no longer go to that church. There is ignorance everywhere, unfortunately. I sincerely hope you get FAR more positive feedback than negative. ❤️

1. Those captions are fire. 2. Can we give Juice and George their own livestream? 3. I side with both of you on that comment. I think it comes from a good place to pray for that girl. I also think that Cam's response was beautiful, concise, and clear. If someone is making comments like that, they are not going to have their minds changed. Period. So don't spend too much heartache on that. That person was formed by generations of families before who have refused to step out of the hateful bubble that they were raised in.

I'm so sorry that you both had to go through that. I work at the Intercultural Center at a college that is predominantly upper middle class white Catholic students and one thing that I have learned is like you said Caleb, meet people where they're at. It's really hard to put it into practice and I am still trying to improve, but listening to other people's perspectives and asking them probing questions is a good way to educate them. For example, I've learned to ask people to further explain what they mean to make them feel like their viewpoint is also heard. You make them feel heard and then you share your knowledge and educate them. It really does suck because it shouldn't be the job of the oppressed to teach the oppressors. That just goes to show that there need to be more allies. But on another note, I just want to say that you both are truly important in the RU-vid community because you show representation for the LGBTQIA+ community and there's not that much representation in the media. I truly believe that y'all are making a difference with your presence in the media

Yess Cameron 👏👏 true Christians are accepting and loving. I grew up in church and I am so supportive of any gay couple or member of the lgbtq community. I have many gay friends and family members. There should be so much more love in the world. Know that there are people who stand with y’all and love y’all for who you both Are. Everything Cameron said to that comment was perfect. ❤️

Caleb, I love that you want to love people to the light. Some people will never see the light. Cameron was eloquent in his response. He was kind and stern enough to educate. That's what people need. Education. They live in ignorance and judge because they do not know. So educate them. If they're still ignorant, don't waste anymore of your time. Look to the light. You have love all around you, don't allow the ignorance to to shadow your best life that you are trying to live. You're amazing. Keep up the great work and awesome representation of our culture.

Speaking here as a 48 year old gay man who teaches about oppression and social justice issues: there is no one right way to communicate about these issues. The various forms of communicating depends on many factors: who you are, what role you're working in, your audience, and your goals. For example, teaching or giving a workshop requires a different approach than say dealing with a homophobe in my personal life. I think Cameron in this case is well justified with his retort, as this is him defending his dignity and asserting his value as a person. It's okay for Caleb to not want to take that approach, but Cameron did what he needed to do. Caleb's softer approach in my experience is better when speaking one-to-one with someone willing to listen. But with internet comments, usually the person just wants to have their say and move on. I do disagree with Caleb's perspective that you have to work twice as hard. That's called respectability politics and it doesn't work. No matter how hard you work, no matter how much you achieve, if someone doesn't like you for being gay or black or a woman or disabled, achieving more won't change their views. That said, I love you guys and hope you have a great Christmas. Regardless of your approach to dealing with it, pay those homophobes no mind!

Caleb I am sorry that some "so called" Christians feel the need to be that way!!! I am SUPER CHRISTIAN yet I would never act that way!!! Jesus spent His entire life preaching forgiveness/acceptance!!! I honestly think that Cam went about it the right way. I get that people will perceive it the wrong way but sometimes it’s okay to stick up for yourself and the people you love and care for. My sister is gay, and two of my daughters are gay. I’ve known my daughters were gay their whole lives (even though one didn’t come out until age 17, and the other at 20, because they were living their own journey), the same way I knew with my sister- I always joke that she had that “Peppermint Patty vibe”. It’s just who you are as a person. Being gay is as natural as being straight. You’re born that way. I live for the day that people just mind their own business and start appreciating love as the beautiful, positive, amazing gift that it is. No matter what package it comes in. This makes me sad that people act like that. I spent an entire day trying to educate a homophobe. It went no where. They are always going to be hateful and mean. When my daughter (mommas babygirl) came 'out' to me...I told her that I knew before she knew. Her father had just past 5 months prior, she was 13 and he was only 36 (married 18 yrs). I told her there is no problem and never will be. She lost her world when her dad died...she knows she will never ever on Gods green Earth will she lose me. I told her that if anyone has a problem...send them to me and they will be reminded that 'THEY' have a problem...not her. There is only one Laura...and this momma is proud to have her in my life. God blessed me a 1000X over by blessing me with my daughter. I agree with both of you on the way to address and respond to negativity and disapproval of your relationship. It sickens me that people will use their religious beliefs on this matter, but seem to waiver on other religious teachings in other aspects of life. I grew up in a very religious home (in the Bible Belt) with both grandfathers being Baptist ministers, so you can imagine my fears of being true to myself. Cameron is right to no longer take the passive approach to the naysayers, and you are correct in how that approach must be handled. Sticks and stones are for boy scouts; big boys rise up and speak their truths. In the end, we are all living beings that need to learn to respect differences and coexist without hypocrisy and judgment. Never forget to continue to be you, true and more than you ever knew.

I think you both make valid points in your different ways of dealing with the situation. Sometimes a stronger approach is needed but I understand why you feel like you have to be twice as good as you say. It's impossible to reach everyone - some people will never change and some have their own journey to take before they change their mind or simply stop being rude.
