I'm LONG overdue for a closet clean out so I've enlisted the help of my bestie (who also happens to be a stylist) to keep me accountable and challenge me, as we go through my closet. Square footage is tight in New York so I'm trying to be ruthless, and getting rid of those pieces that for one reason or another don't work for me...ENJOY!

I love a Cassie x Christian moment! The expressions and dynamic you both share is enjoyable to watch. It’s always tough to clean out your closet. I struggle every time I do it and the end result is always minimal purging. I do believe we should let some things go if we don’t use it often and it’s not a classic or collectible piece that we plan to pass on to our children, godchildren, etc. Thanks for sharing! Xx

Thak you for showing us this process. I feel like a lot of luxury chanels and influencers never show this part of it. Yes sometimes it absolutley sucks that a 2k pair of shoes didnt work out and now you need to go through the process of selling/rehoming. Its something that has made me slow down with luxury purchases because I want to make sure it's right for me.

This is a nail biter, for sure. Christian (though a bit savage) is correct in his evaluation. I’m a bit nervous for the pieces you left back in the UK though 😂 something tells me those would immediately be packed up for their new home. But! Christian is soooo great! And Nii in the background cooking 😍😍Love that. My man does the cooking too. I am hardly in the kitchen 🙈 Cassie I think our wardrobe is nearly the same. Of course you curated mine 😂 With the Valentino‘s it is the exact opposite with me, I have only worn the Mary janes once and if I wasn’t a hoarder I would Part ways with those. The boots are a keeper though for me. They are really comfy! I feel the same way about the Dior perforated sneakers. I have worn them maybe 3 times. The botega cassette ( big up to dad)! I have in black and sea green. I have not worn them that often but I am not parting with them😹😹. Great video!

Christian is so right; women have such an attachment to bags, whether it’s sentimental or dare I say tactical. It’s either the bag the you bought with your first real paycheck or it’s a bag that has been used and abused but it holds EVERYTHING! I equate a closet it a garden; there are annuals and perennials, there are items that get replanted every year and there are items that have run their course and get transplanted or gifted. There is a time and season for everything in your closet.

I just did part of a clear out of one of my mom's huge closet storage cabinet spaces and have the stuff in my car to drive to the donation center. She didn't want to part with much, but things had to go. Stuff went back as far as 50-plus years. As for handbags, I tend to hold on to them. They definitely can be quite emotional attachments for women. Plus, women change body sizes so much over the decades until clothing usually has to go more often due to not fitting, but handbags always fit. So, I think there's more attention and connection with handbags as when a clothing item (or footwear item) suddenly doesn't fit anymore, one can still use a previous handbag with a new clothing or footwear item that does fit. When the pandemic hit in 2020, I had time to start a major clean out as I was at home working through Zoom and was no longer physically at work. So, I started getting rid of some things from my old lifestyle (pre-pandemic) and adding new things to fit my new lifestyle. Plus, there were things that needed to go anyhow and be replaced for the next phase of my life. We're all continuously evolving and change is good in order to not get stuck in a rut.
