Dealing with self harm scars
Mental illness symptoms, dealing with scars, self harm are things that we should raise awareness on. whether you have scars because you suffer with borderline personality disorder, depression or any other mental illness, it is okay to talk about! and it is okay to have scars. This is what i address in the video, how to deal with this if you have scars, or if you're someone noticing scars on other people, whatever the reason, i hope my video can shed some light on how to deal with it and offer some comfort to others to know they're not alone. Enjoy!
TRIGGER WARNING - references to self harm
ps.. sorry i forgot to put my mic on! and I'm aware the lighting/ video quality is off, ill work on it :)

Another great video. I like (in love...) one girl (my neighbour) who has BPD. I didn't know anything about BPD, until last year when I looked up on the internet about selfharm etc. She has scares on her arms (I know her for three years) and the last two years she started "all in" covering herself with tattoos, and my first thought was: she is doing this to cover up her scars ... I like tattoos (don't have any myself), it looks nice (sexy) on woman ... So to the point ... Summer came and I went to her place (she invited me to the local pub where she worked - waitress) and she had shorts, so I could see her legs. I just said outload: Jesus Christ! I saw wide 4 -5 cm long scars, all over uper thigh (both legs) and automatically said: Just don't cover now this with more tattoos ... She said: Why? And I said: "Because you have beautiful legs." I was honest ... I don't care if she's all covered with tattoos, I just wanted to say to her, she doesn't have to cover the scars, It's her, it's sexy:) As I said, I didn't know anything about this BPD since last year that this situation happened, but the last 6 months I watched many vidoes about BPD and I understand now all the "crazy situations" with her :)) - Yes, she likes me..., no, she doesn't, what the F just happened...). I like the girl, but I just don't know if there's any hope ... The less I do, the more she likes me:)) Anyway, I think she likes tattoos, but maybe there is still this 1% where she maybe want to cover the scars ... I understand, but as I said, scars looks sexy, al least for me:) I see a lot of girls with BPD having tattoos, it's interesting thing, maybe it has to do with strong emotions, magic thinking etc. I don't know. Anyway, great videos, if you have any thoughts, advice ... Keep up the good work. Like it a lot, maybe it will help me with this girl,😄 I realy wish her the best and you of course🙂

Can I just start by saying you sounds like such a lovely and wonderful person and this girl is lucky to have someone so genuine wanting to care for her and make her feel good!!! I’m blessed that my partner is the same, he doesn’t care about my scars either and honestly it’s the best feeling to be accepted for the way you are. BPD sufferers are very hot and cold, so if it’s any help try not to take the ups and downs personally, I can be super emotional one day and a stone cold hearted mofo the next 😅 it’s tiring! To me it sounds like she’s interested, she invited you to hang out with her, but people with bpd have serious trust issues and have their guard up, we like to test people too (not that we enjoy it or want to half the time) but for example by being a bit of an asshole to someone you’re testing their reaction to see if they’re going to up and walk away, or stick around and fight for you.. because most of us have abandonment issues and are used to people leaving, we find it hard to believe that people truly care. My advice, just keep doing what you’re doing, if it turns into something then amazing!! And if not then you have a good friend, learnt a lot and best of all made someone who is definitely conscious of themselves smile and feel beautiful to someone, so it’s a win win. So good on you, seriously!! Ps, tattoos are common amongst us although I’m not sure why, I think it’s expressing since we have so many feelings inside? However I won’t cover scars either 🤷🏽‍♀️😂

Omg your so pretty and beautiful 😍 also love your hair and tatts. I've selfed harmed plenty so I can relate with you. I wish mental health and self harm especially wasn't so bloody stigmatised. Nobody deserves to be judged too and also if they've self harmed. I've been judged by it so I know what it's like. Very well said👏 👌 💚

Thanks, this makes me feel somewhat more relaxed. I'm going to work tomorrow (most of the time I work from home but not always) and I was already stressed thinking about colleagues starring at my arms. I was already planning to put makup on it, but it's not really easy to hide red-ish scars. This is hard, I don't have people irl with whom I can talk about this topic, except my psychiatrist, but that's a different kind of talk. So yeah, I'm happy that RU-vid recommended this today. Wish me luck tomorrow...

I totally understand, I got a lot of looks today and do get a bit conscious of it sometimes! But we shouldn’t have to feel bad about it, we have a hidden illness and these are our symptoms. Wishing you all the best for tomorrow, also I’m planning on setting up some kind of online group, Facebook or discord or something so people can join and speak in if they’d like to, I’ll upload a video to announce it when I get it started. Thinking if you x

My scars are a part of me , they show my battles I’ve fought and if people judge with there thoughts and vision then there lives I’m guessing are pretty hollow

Totally agree. I am not ashamed of my scars, they’re an invitation for open conversation and I hope they help to allow for mental health to be more accepted! I’m glad you’re able to feel positive about yourself!!
