Man these awesome interviews bring back memories... I looked up to the late 90's, early 00's British lightweight champs (even though I was 5'10") lol. I could never get my head round their 65kg ish body weights as they all looked massive to me in person.

All part of the illusion and condition is key. Getting ultra-lean accentuates appearance and creates the impression of a larger physique.

@DeanGarratt Thanks for the reply Dean...You, Shaun ferguson and Rob feesey were true lightweight champs who looked full and massive when light and shredded. Amazing to see you were still winning at 48yo, and hearing all your golden nuggets of wisdom 👍

Great interview as always! I know he said he can’t be better now than he was years ago, but I wonder why he doesn’t consider competing in over 50 classes now.

Two reasons really: i) I couldn't look better now than I did when I last competed or before; ii) I wouldn't want to risk injury and spoil my enjoyment. I love exercising and this is an important part of my life. I can walk around in decent shape, and probably within 6 weeks of being ready to compete, without putting undue strain on my body.
