I have been training according to the Max ot program, 4 day split for the last 6 years and I have had very good results. Have been workingout at the gym since I was 18 years old and am now 41 years old and still building muscles with Max ot. I can really recommend all natural lifters to try it.
Awesome physique and competitor. The early 00's era for me is like the golden age of natural BB, especially the lightweight cat... Guy's like Tony and the other British champs you've had on here were constantly battling it out against each other with absolute top draw physiques. Great times
This is so weird! I’ve had no injuries at all my entire training life until recently.. my left shoulder! I’ve had to stray away from certain movements such as OHP and doing full ROM Bench. For the first time ever I’m having to be very careful with pushing movements! Sounds similar to Tony, and I’ve just stopped doing Max OT 😅 higher rep range for me now!
@@Tony.Montalbano Absolutely! Hoping I’ve caught it early, I’m only 30! Like you mentioned tho it just seems to flare up every now and then! Trying to not over stretch on certain movements now, so kinda the opposite to what we’re seeing now in terms of ‘stretch mediated Hypertrophy’
Really good interview. I have only ever been a recreational trained but at 60 it sucks that there are a number of exercises I can no longer do. I just do the best I can and train to maintain myself as much as possible . I train very strictly now to avoid any further injury. Most of my injuries have mainly been work related though. Feel for Tony. It must be very hard Not to be able to train at all when you have been at his level in the sport.
Put the bands around the upper part of the leg of a bed frame, kneel on the floor and push your feet against the bed leg so you've got something to brace against.
Probably not, decades of weight training laid the foundation, I think given time it's definitely possible to build a pretty decent physique using tubes alone with maybe some callisthenics like dips and chins thrown in.
@@RobertFeesey thank you so much! I have lifted for years, never competed in bodybuilding but have put on some size with weights. I switched to bands back in 2019 mixed with weights and went exclusively bands the last two years. I never quite feel like my whole system is getting loaded well with bands, even though the muscle is getting worked hard to failure often with Load to moderate reps and extremely intense effort, but I don’t know that that is inherently a bad thing or a good thing. I love them though, and my joints absolutely love them! But I also love the sound of 45s coming together :-)
Hi Luke, yes tubes are obviously a completely different feel to weights, you no longer have that weight load bearing down on you, but as long as there is enough tension on the muscles when using tubes your workout should be just as productive minus all the joint pain and injuries.
I would like to see how he sets up for chest pressing and really, everything, even though he describes quite a bit of it. I use bodylastics bands and wall anchors to simulate a cable station and use them along with Olympic dumbbells.
I've trained at Ian's home gym. Awesome set up. Everything you need. I get the listening to your own body, totally. Age, stress and training have an impact. Train your body wisely. NO BRAIN, NO GAIN.
Good interview. Training 3 days a week, overall body workouts is what I have done since 1987, to good affect. I am now 63, the over 60 Natural Mr. Britain, and still training the HIT way. I will always train 2 or 3 days a week.
Saturated fats are actuallygood for you and for your hormones, sugar is the real problem!!! Stop telling bullshit to people and start eating butter, cheese and animal fats to increase your testosterone levels
