You know, we women often complain that our husbands never listen to us, but this sketch shows that Dean and co. (or at least the writers) paid more attention to their wives conversations than they thought!! I especially got the impression that Dean had heard that line about “Jeannie never notices what I look like anyway” (except changed to “Dean never notices...”) at home more than once!!
First time watching this and what a delight it is! How wonderful they are all (especially Jimmy cracking up!) they all have such great chemistry; funny, witty, charming - OH take me back to that era!
Now come on all you You Tube Lovers Watch this. Who would have thought that these three wonderful Gentlemen would be singing and dancing together? I give them 10/10 for their performance. This is the first time I have seen this. LOVE IT.
I think I can top that. Who would have thought that Dean could get Orson on his show as much as he did. Cause Orson was one of the biggest names in Hollywood. Not to say Dean wasn't but getting talent like this is not easy even for big names like Dean.
What a great line up!! All my favorite actors!!! Love Jimmy Stewart from Hitchcock's movies.. and who wouldn't love Orsen at Citizen Kane? And of course im dead in love with Dean!
I love all three of these absolute goofballs with all my heart but when Jimmy says "couldn't you just DIIIEEE???????!!!!!!!!!!" I think I actually did. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Did Orson Welles make a joke about Rock Hudson and Tab Hunter being gay before it was generally known when he said they appeared at the party in matching Blazers?
A lot of tabloids actually wrote of them being gay, I think the general public thought it was false rumors and ignored it. But it was all there for peopleto read.
No. If you paid attention to the basis of this sketch, you would have noticed that every bit of gossip and comment said by the guys is what women are usually portrayed as saying to each other, particularly at the beauty parlor. It wasn't a 'gay' reference, 'wearing identical blazers' was the male version of women being catty about two women wearing the same dress at a party. Oh, horrors!
If you do not understand why a man that revolutionized every single media he was involved in including animation and that is celebrated fondly throughout the decades even for his mistakes has such relevance then you are below the capacity to understand such explanation.
Dean Martin opens that song so goddamned well, cheeky sonuvagun! These fellers certainly had personality. I think Welles especially lived his whole life like he was on a stage. How much was innate, acting, or cultivated habit? Over time we are all inclined to play up mannerisms that make people like or respect us, maybe they were just better at learning, unconsciously or consciously, and adapting. Probably not Stewart as much, he is who he is, which could be more or less impressive depending on how you look at it.
@@gravenewworld6521 no. Actually it isn't. Not at all. Comedians who are downright rude, crass and basic jackasses. Others who get physically abusive. The REAL talent that deserves the cudos are all deceased now.
Riklaunim Arkhenneld you sound like a bitter old fool😂. Totalizing reactionary thought like that is pure confirmation bias, not to mention trite nonsense.
i find it hilariously funny with jimmy stewart and orson welles doing what they did! dean martin is just as exceptional. pity they will never read my opinion.
What a pity that so many who make a career out of being offended on the behalf of others would be screaming so loudly that you wouldn't be able to enjoy this kind of humor. Thankfully videos like this exist where it can be enjoyed without those voices.
+dino4ever òrson wells jimmy stewart dean martin under hair dryers you would think it was a peter cook dudley moore peter sellars monty python sketch. how do you parody this?
What a line up! This just popped up - it's great. When was it produced? Was it a show? Thank you whoever put it up. Jimmy StewRt surprised me. Thank you for making me laugh. X
The flying saucers were about to land when they did this! Even after Wells was blacklisted he continued to work. That's a true measure of the size of the man - about a 70 or 80-inch waist! UH HUH!!
Orson Welles was really funny in this, but whenever you see things like this, I always feel like 'Come on Orson...' He went from being one of the greatest directors and actors of all time to novelty acts like this lol.
Crumpton Oaks Not in my estimation. The key to understanding Welles is, if you believe artists exists and I do, an artist should never compromise personal vision. and because Hollywood was, and is even more so today, run like a bank, that was impossible. But instead of becoming a recluse Welled used his great capacity to entertain and continued to enjoy doing that it is sad that he held so many film projects as potential masterpieces but producers could never see their value. Now we're all somewhat poorer for that loss
@@michaelpierce6385 Agreed. That comes out in the interviews that he gave, I believe. When he could no longer make the types of movies he wanted, he moved on and still kept active. It also takes a tremendous ability to be comfortable with who you are and where you have been to be able to make jokes at your own expense. I think of Orson Welles, Mr. T, Shatner, and a host of others who have made a second career out of parody of their own perceived selves.
@@Demondodge318 True dat! I'm 59 (Oh, Lowit!). I had a serious little girl crush on Dean Martin. AntennaTV had "Dean Martin's Comedy Roasts" marathon a couple of weekends back. That was fun. The episode honoring Jimmy Stewart included Orson Welles. (I think he was a little heavy-handed at times.) HOWEVER; his remarks for James were so sincere and heartfelt. For once, Orson's bloviating was appropriate and tolerable. So, I imagine Welles got a big thrill from doing this sketch. Check it out. I got misty for his closing comment. OW basted, not roasted JS. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l4pW-zj73m8.html
this is why i hate society today, because on todays television theyd do pathetic things like `accidently ` shave some of dean martins hair and say `woops` or make toilet jokes, and have the audience laughing hysterically, and then cut to a commercial with some rap music. i mean i freaking hate society today! ugh
dang bruv it must be a real wind in the jimmies to have your sense of appreciation constrained to a particular time period instead of embracing humanity with a real ogle and chuckle.
Wonderful …..Tab (Hunter) & Rock (Hudson) came to the Party wearing the same Blazers. The World did not know they were both Gay men at the time. The 3 Amigos singing ….subtly mentioned both wore men wore the same Blazers. Homosexuality was not acceptable & had to be kept hidden. Rock died a terrible Death with AIDS, then we found out he was Gay….both Rock & Tab kept their Secret Life a Secret till the end of their Acting Careers. If it was known both men were Gay…impossible for them to play romantic Roles with women….Both were very good looking men, what Roles would have suited them…if we knew they were Gay today ?
