Frog fishing is a very high impact technique. The combination of heavy cover, and a strong hookset require a durable knot. Watch as Dean Rojas shares the knot he uses to connect his Sunline braided line to a SPRO Bronzeye frog.
Thank you friend. I will try this one for sure as I just lost a $12.00 frog on 65 pound braid because I used a different and bad knot. Where do I get 80 pound quality braid.
Uggggg That's one that will haunt you a bit. Lots of options for braid of that size such as Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's If your tossing a frog we suggest SUnline SX1 it's designed for that type of application
Just paid 13 dollars for the spro bronzeeye baby pop. Using 8lb braid tied directly to the hook. No loop knot. Walks like shit, sinks at a position of 90 degrees. WTF!
What I do is take a little bit of silicone to cover the back hole where the hook comes out of the bottom of the bait and stops water from getting inside the body of the frog. If not after each cast you have to squeeze the water out of the bait. Btw 8lb braid won’t work well for frogs you have to be at least 40lbs braid and must tie a this type of knot or you’ll loose you frog.
