He plays Kane who drops to 10, foden who drifts into 10, Bellingham as 10, and brings on Palmer who is also a 10. I've never seen a manager so completely out of touch with the game. He shouldn't be anywhere near football.

Indeed. Southgate believes that starting matches with three right backs & three No.10s is the key to success. It creates acres of space on the left hand side for no one to run in to.

I’ve seen Harry Kane in every possible position, apart from GK, on a football pitch this tournament, I’m intrigued to know if he’s being told to do so or thats just him doing what he wants.

Southgate has got one tactic, sit back keep a clean sheet and hope England score first. If it doesn't work he doesn't know what to do. Using Watkins and Toney would require a plan B or C which Southgate clearly doesn't have. If Switzerland score early and dominate, watch Southgate stand around doing nothing until the 89th minute when he decides to just throw on his attackers because the only thing he needs to worry about at that point is just attacking.

Southgate potentially cost England 2 trophies with his tactics in 2018 and 2020. Even the media are finally beginning to get tired of him and his refusal to change. So, sorry but I can't have faith, if England win the Euros then fair enough I stand corrected but for now I seriously doubt it.

Kane only scores against bin men, 5 finals no goals. Playing in the nations league against top level teams played 18 games scored 3 of which 2 were pens. So 1 out field goals in 17 games. Pants, I wish people would really look at his stats.

What annoys me the most is the amount of props he gets, “He took us to a final, he took us to a semi final” he’s beaten NOBODY, aside from Germany. He’s had easy runs in major tournaments. Also people talk about him having a “71% win rate” well obviously he does because most of those wins are in qualifiers against minnows.

The biggest question i have is why bring one left back who's been injured and maybe wont play at all , surely Mitchell of Palace should have been tried in the friendlies before the tournament began, and Chilwell why wasn't he brought?

Watkins or Toney have different skillsets, and should be brought on depending on the circumstances and what you want to accomplish. That's a normal expectation of an experienced successful manager...Unfortunately England have Southgate, who has no real clue how to use subs, how to effect a game. Everything is based on praying, hoping for a moment of individual brilliance from a player. 🤨

No pace on and off the ball,they are virtually standing next to each other passing the ball painting themselves into a corner, only pace turns defenders creating space inviting a attacking pass ,England are at their best when they are unleashed attacking letting their natural talents do their thing,come on go for it

Ollie Watkins is not international level and added to this, 99% of teams sit deep against England so the one thing Watkins offers is completely nullified against all opponents. Toney is far more superior to him.

Oh I think you will find Ollie Watkins scored 19 PL goals NONE from penalties and 13 assists! Played in Europe last season! Kane absolutely useless this tournament a passenger...excuse for him no service..When Ollie played in friendlies got no service..Play to Kane who misses them or falls over with the ball..or never touches the ball in 45 mins in one game!

unfair to throw Watkins in now. hasn't played any first team football since the premier league finished now. there was plenty of group game time where he could of been given minutes

Watkins should be playing The best of the 3 a leading the attacking stretching the opposition defences Watkins and Toney would be a nightmare for any defence play them 2 up top. Kane has been excellent for England over the years . But at this tournament a most probs down to injury he has been really poor and should not have played the amount of minutes he has had . If you ain't fit you shouldn't be playing at international level especially.
