I think they f***ed it up when they started giving KITT outrageous abilities like being able to shape shift. Had they kept the basics, and kept it within realistic ideas it would have worked.
The entire comment section is cut into three groups. -The People hating on KR2008 -The People remembering how much they loved KR2008. -and the people simping on Deanna Russo.
I have wanted new episodes of knight Rider for many years - watched the original series when I was VERY young. I thought the new series was a great show and wish it had been continued. I didn't know a single muscle car fan that didn't like the new series - and certainly Deanna was a serious Asset for her on set personality and her looks of course. The interaction between the characters was fun - and did work like the original series. Best wishes in your new endeavours!
Wow!! I really like the new 'Knight Rider.' I've been re-watching the episodes on DVD, and its really fantastic. Sweet budget, hot women fast cars, and killer music... No one gave the new 'Knight Rider,' a chance. The voice of Val Kilmer, and KITT's sense of humor grows on you as the show progresses. 'Knight Rider,' would have done way better in syndication, or it would have been a better match for the 'Sci-fi channel,' where "Defiance,' is there best original show. (Different Times though) People did not like the 'Ford,' but again it grows on you... I still don't like the twin eye lights on the front of KITT. The single "Cylon,' light looks so much cooler. Deanna Russo & the women are so gorgeous--for shame on the jacket guys, and a pat on the back to the bikini guys. I would like for 'Knight Rider,' to come back in sydication with new episodes--hey 'The X-files,' is coming back. In the very least Deanna Russo should be considered for a superhero role--perhaps Ms Marvel...
The new knight rider was fantastic but could have been better, it deserved a second series and igf there had to be a successor to the trans am then it had to be th mustang

lol she's funny! shes so laid back, low profile, humble, beautiful, and def smart! Oh and Deanna, IPHONE is WAY better than the black berry! just sayin!
It failed because... 1: It messed with the concept way too much. KITT ended up being a fancy transformer. 2: Not enough of the humor that made the first show actually good. Everything is played off way too dry. 3: They wrote it like someone writing a fanfic.
