dear esther yi: your book about K-pop idol fan culture made me do this 

i saw this book being recommended because it's AAPI month. regardless, i think esther yi's book "Y/N" should be recommended as high-fiber food for thought. it inspired me to think about stan or fan culture, parasocial relationships, mental health, what to do with the feeling of loneliness, etc
ngl, reading this book and feeling compelled to make this response/commentary video felt kinda meta. i'm just worried that i completely misunderstood the author's messages...but i was so moved to make this video, even though i haven't finished the book. i am considering making a longer video that goes into detail after i finish reading.
