When I was a kid my uncle had the 360 with a Viva Piñata demo on it. I played that demo so much when I would go to his house. I always thought it was so fun! I would totally play it on my Switch if I had the chance.

I thought you were asking them to revive Banjo, but this could do too

This also felt like a passive way of telling Nintendo that they're letting Microsoft outdo them in legacy content

I was terrified that Microsoft had done something awful overnight. I'm like just starting to come around to how awesome Xbox is. Being able to play hades or dragon quest on my phone reasonably well is amazing!

This is officially my favorite video ever. The absolute scalding nintendo recieved at the beginning to the RECOGNITION VIVA PINATA DESERVES. When I got xbox gamepass, I saw Viva pinata on there and I downloaded it first thing and fixed all the sour pinatas in 2 days. I dont know what came over me but even after all these years it was like I was possessed for 48 hours straight by this game.

Viva Pinata on Switch wasn't something that entered my mind in the lead-in, but I instantly agreed when I heard it. Such a fantastic game.

I was honestly worried Microsoft/Xbox themselves did some bad corporate decision so Arlo was making a video about it, but I'm glad to be wrong, I'll definitely try out VP if it comes to Switch.

My favourite part of Viva Pinata was breeding them with relatives and then feeding the parents to their children.

I've been saying this for years. Viva Piñata would be absolutely perfect for the Switch, and I played it so long. My greatest achievement was getting the Dragonache and master romancing the Chewnicorn

THIS! PLEASE! I would play Viva Pinata 1 and 2 for hours every day! I would love to see this series have another chance. I remember losing my mind trying to get the Galagoogoo in my garden in the first one haha.

Game Pass is seriously unreal. I use PC Game Pass and genuinely can’t imagine ever unsubscribing to the service for at least multiple years, as there’s just so much value to gain from it. And we’re getting big games day 1 for the service next year!!

I always heard people talking about Viva Pinata and I would always see people vouch for it but did you know? Until this video, I'd never actually seen footage of the game and how it works lol I legit just spent more than 10 years sounding intrigued, but never being intrigued enough to actually check what it's about. I always just assumed it was some kind of 3D platformer where you play as a pinata-looking character or something. I'm definitely much more interested after seeing this in-depth information about it for the first time. Reminds me of park sims like RCT or Zoo Tycoon... Very much into those types.

It took me way too long to realize Arlo wasn't trolling with this.

A fantastic series, love the games, the Piñata designs, and even the animated series. I was always disappointed it never took off and that and that people blatantly ignore it when pushing the narrative that everything Rare did under MS was bad.

I went into this video very ready for a solemn, sorrowful conversation... and then you slapped me back to reality with perhaps the weirdest Xbox game I've ever had the pleasure(?) of knowing. I have been hoping and praying for a Viva Pinata Revival for years. Id buy a new Xbox just to play a third entry but even if I got one of the older games on Switch I'd lose my mind. I thought my best bet for it would have been Rare Replay coming to Swittch but a stand alone port would be just as good. Thanks for brining this up Arlo because now I don't have to look like the only crazy person in the world who brings up this series when talking about Rare games in the modern day.

I haven't thought about Viva Piñata in years but this video reminded me how much I love it. I would love to re-live the experience on switch since I don't really use my old Xbox 360 anymore. Of course, a new game would be brilliant, but I'll definitely settle for VP2, given how amazing it was.

Viva Piñata was one of the best things to come out of 4kids. Seriously, I would love another game in the series. Being a kid with only a gamecube at the time, the first game only being on the xbox 360 was so disappointing. Even though my elementary years was me watching my friends and older cousins play through the halo trilogy, this game is what drove me to get a 360.

This was a great love letter to peak Microsoft, great job, Arlo.

I always played Viva Piñata when I was at home sick. I absolutely loved just turning my Xbox on, laying on the couch and playing the game for the whole day.

Was concerned Microsoft did a major oopsie and I'm relieved that wasn't the case. lol Never played Viva Piñata as I never had any Xbox consoles nor knew of the DS title, but I always loved what I saw of the game (was a big fan of the cartoon too!)

I remember being treated for epilepsy at a hospital for weeks at a time, and I would have the opportunity to go to a play room to help break up the monotony. I found Viva Piñata and instantly fell in love. Being able to have an hour a day to go tend my garden after being bedridden gave me immeasurable joy. One of the first things I did was make an apple orchard and have a few select piñata reside (namely pretztails and mousemallows). It left such a lasting impression that I had to save up my own money doing chores and getting good grades to buy an xbox 360 EXCLUSIVELY for Viva Piñata. I would love to see a revitalization of the series that touched me as a kid and got me though some of the most struggling times of my life.

AAA It feels so good to see someone finally talking about this! It always felt like Viva Pinata was the black sheep of the Rare catalogue. Everybody constantly adores Banjo and Kazooie, the DKC has always been well received, but you just never hear much about Viva Pinata, and it's so fucking sad to me. The games are so good, if a bit basic, and they made up my entire childhood. Thank you, and good job, Arlo! I will be selfish with you and hope that Microsoft will consider this proposal.

Holy crap, what a blast from the past. Viva Pinata is one of those games I was always exposed to through videogame shows on TV but could never play because I was a Playstation kid. I never played this and I still feel nostalgic.

There must be hundreds of people watching this video going “Oh my days, YES! This game was the absolute shit!” While it may not have been a game I’ve played, I know that we all have those games that mean a huge amount to us and it’s always cool to hear about them.

Oh my god! I LOVED Viva Pinata! This would be the BEST game for the switch. I love how simplistic it is for casual players, but can actually get into more complicated features like "Perfect" Pinatas and having Pinatas evolve through special means. I'm so glad you made this video, because I think this is a series that was vastly underrated. This inspires me to start the game again. I feel like the dragon was the ultimate goal, honestly. Please Microsoft! Bring this to Switch!

If they were to port VP to the switch, then I think it actually makes the most sense to port the first game instead of the second game - the second game very much assumes that you're already familiar with the series and kinda just "throws you in" without any sort of tutorial. The original is much more friendly to a new audience.

I've only ever had Nintendo consoles and sadly never got to play this series. I remember seeing clips of the show years ago and really adored the cute colourful design, absolutely a great fit for the Nintendo crowd. If it came to switch I'd definitely give the series a go!

Oh My goodness Arlo. This is so incredible. This is one of my all time top 10 games! I loved it to death as a kid, couldn’t get enough. Then I never played it all during my teenage years, but I decided to go back recently and see if it held up in my 20s, and my goodness… the sheer MAGIC of it pulled me back in instantly, and I was hooked beyond hooked! I can’t even explain it, but something about this game strikes at a perfectly magical joy within me-there’s no other word for it! I never hear anyone talk about this game these days, so having the buildup at the start of this video lead to a viva piñata plug!!! Well, that just made my day, week, month, idk maybe my whole year! Haha, great stuff!!!

I swear, Viva Piñata is one of those addictive timekiller games where you'll start playing it at 12pm, and in the blink of an eye look back at the time and see that it's now 5:30pm.

THE SOUND I MADE WHEN HE SAID VIVA PIÑATA, I was OBSESSED w that game as a kid!! My dad and I played it together like him and his housemate, and we played through a lot of the game, I think up to the point where you’re supposed to unlock the eagle pinata by growing this tree, but the tiki mask guys kept knocking it down and we got so frustrated we quit indefinitely ^^; Still, the nostalgia really gets me 🥺

The Viva Piñata cartoon was the only exposure I had to the series; I loved it, and was shocked when I found out it was based on a game

I think this would be really great actually. It's got kid appeal so they can play without tying up the big TV, which is a big plus about the Switch. The bright cartoonishness hides a lot of graphical tiredness, while at the same time allowing it to run well on lower powered machines. I'm just not sure they'll be thinking much about an old mid-list title, but it would be nice.

If they ever port Viva Piñata to the Switch, they better replace the comic sans font with a new one. They could unironically replace comic sans with times new roman and it would be more visually appealing.

No dislikes, I have a good feeling about this one.

A game I've never heard of, on a platform I've never owned, and yet - somehow - Arlo hooks me in for a full 10 and a half minutes...

I loved the show, I didn't know there was a game until years later and I love the game too.

I'm glad there are people who still remember this franchise! I liked the show as a kid it was a fun concept. I even remember the theme song. My favorite character was Elli the elephant, she was adorable.

The 360 and switch are pretty different pieces of hardware. It could probably get the game running but wouldn't necessarily be an easy port, that said it could use a revival and would be worth the extra effort for a proper port to switch and PC.

Viva piñata is one of my favorite games ever! Now that I got a series x I've played it non-stop. Just when I'm tired of every other game, viva piñata is right there. It's become a comfort game at this point. If they did another one I would lose my mind

As someone who finished both main title games to 100% and managed to get multiple others hooked,including my school friends back in the day who were insistent they'd not like this game, I can't encourage people enough to give these a try. The potential in the franchise from a game perspective is still dormant in my opinion too, despite their ventures into media with it. If the second game is the definitive version, then I insist we get a definitive, directors cut, mega-mix version immediatly. The Idea that this franchise will fade into obscurity is genuinely a painful thought. If Pokemon sooths my inner child, Viva Pinata sooths my inner teen. I would not hesitate to add both the original and TiP to my Switch collection, but I too would love to see a third entry come along and make the most of the possible experience. If Stardew, Pokemon, Aniaml Crossing or even The Sims has left an impression on you, there is something at the heart of this game that runs in a similer vein. PLEASE SHOW MICROSOFT AND RARE YOUR INTEREST.

The Viva Piñata games were my childhood! I constantly played the original and DS version as a kid, used to adore the show, and in my early teens got heavily into VP:TP - this series and AC was my The Sims equivalent when it came to sim games. I would still play it today if my bundle copy would let me save the game! I'd love a version on the swtich, I'd play it all the time honestly!

I also really love the viva pinata series, I've spent way more hours than I would like to admit on each game in the series. I was constantly starting new gardens and would play it on all my siblings profiles to get them achievement score. It would definitely be a good fit ascetically on Switch and since they are willing to experiment on cross console games then there is at least some hope. Sadly the most recent references to the series are it being included in the rare replay collection and as a micro transaction for ship customization in Sea of Thieves. I would still love to see it but I'm skeptical if we will ever see anything from Viva Pinata ever again.

I would love Rare Replay on Switch with their Nintendo games like DKC and Diddy Kong Racing added.
