LoloYodel 2 camera/angle video remix but this time with 100% 1st generation "Lazy Cow" (Angles One and Two) plus slight additional editing and visual additions....
This was the 2nd night of the now legendary Oct. 1989 Hampton shows under the billing of the Dead as "The Warlocks"
In addition to the spectacular renditions of each song, it was also the 1st Dark Star since Berkley 1984, the 2nd Death Don't Have No Mercy since 1972, the 1st Attics of My Life since 10-28-1972 and the 1st time Dark Star and Death Don't were played in the same show since 11-2-69 ...
Regardless of the "firsts", the playing here, from start to end, was simply ON THE BALL (in the wave, on target, whatever !). Enjoy.
Set 1:
Feel Like A Stranger
Built To Last
Little Red Rooster
Ramble On Rose
We Can Run
Jack-A-Roe
Stuck Inside Of Mobile
Row Jimmy
The Music Never Stopped
Set 2:

Playin' Reprise ~
Dark Star ~
drums ~
space ~
Death Don't Have No Mercy ~
Dear Mr. Fantasy ~

Jerry doesn’t get the respect for his guitar skills. Guitar lists used to least put him in the top ten in the 90’s. He’s already forgotten to way too many. His guitar playing is absolutely in the top 5. He’s incredible. He could roll those scales as good as anyone ever. His playing was dripping with style. Man is he missed

I thank myself for every Grateful Dead show I attended. Each time was magic. I stood twenty feet away from Jerry Garcia and saw him smiling at Brent in Pittsburgh in July 87. I was a teenager, didn't have a ticket and bought them at the box office the day of. We all came separately, but when the show started I saw a dozen friends from high school there, over two hundred miles from home; it was a magnificent adventure. Those were magic times and they shaped my life and made me the man I am today. God Bless the music and the souls of the dead.

The big Death Don’t return! Never saw it on video before. Good loud recording. God damn tell me Brent was the secret heart and soul of the band--pure raw emotion and devotion during his verse and solo-then it cuts to Jerry just wailing while biting his bottom lip. That’s how it is with the boys, one little detail like that made my night. Prayers and vibes for buddy Eric who is currently laying in his bed and dying. Needed some dark Dead tonight to fuel my mood

The strangest expression comes over his face when he's seriously pleased with his own playing,as in this case. I've seen it a few times in over 25 years of Dead and JGB concerts, but it's rare. You can see it when he's winding down on the closing solo of Morning Dew in the Alpine 07-19-89 video. Sort of an ancient wizard look, almost predatory too.................

I can’t believe they didn’t play this more. So freaking good. I think if Brent didn’t pass away it would of been a mainstay. It’s sad to see the montage of past members who died at that point and Brent being a year away front his passing.

They played this usually after a tragic event. Listen to them doing California earthquake after the big earthquake in 89. They played a few days after and it was incredible.

They played this song a ton in the 60s and a tiny bit in early 70 but agree they need to bring this song back

Just like fine wine, South Carolina was there that weekend. Picked up a page of plain white for$100 in the parking lot.. Looked like it was perforated with a pizza cutter. But still to this day it was some of the BEST!!!! it was most definitely a batch of Owsleys>>
