I’ve never really understood the idea of calling bands like Morbid Angel or Obituary “cookie cutter” bands when they were the ones that basically invented the cookie cutter. I get doing it with new bands, but not with the classics

Dismember’s back catalogue is pretty close to flawless and filled with great riffs, groove, and melody. As long as Dismember lives, death metal lives.

My favorite death metal album is Scream Bloody Gore, I love everything played on that album, especially the drums. I recently looked up that "guy" and it was Reifert of Autopsy.

awesome I love death metal! the bands you picked are a very good choice, but there are so many more like grave, kataklysm, wombbath, lik, gatecreeper. It's hard to pick one favorite death metal band, but I go with "kataklysm", because they were the reason why I got into this sub genre, after I watched their performance at the bang your head festival in Germany! God Dethroned, Toxocara and Revel in Flesh are also awesome death metal bands

Gorguts and Carcass being in 'B' makes my heart hurt. The Canadian in me wishes Cryptopsy was higher as well, but to be fair, they've had a few stinkers, namely "The Unspoken King", so I'll let it slide...
