I've done it for 20 years..I can run 70mph in a slightly stretched cj5 with 38x12.50 swampers w/8" rim with a 9" rear 5:42 gears.. d60 front 5:38 gears and a T18 trans w/6:38 1st gear and a 1:00 4th gear..as long as your ball joints are good and tie rods..i use greaseable heim joints for the tie rods..and I beat the snot out of it on these tennessee rocks
