what yall are seeing is 4 brothers who were still reeling from the loss of their older brother Bobby..El was affected the most which explains why he walked off during the vamp out of Switch's "I Call Your Name"....BUT JAMES HELD IT DOWN !!!! ALL THE BROTHERS HAVE THE SAME EXACT TONE
James sure did hold it down. He shocked 😲 the hell 🙀 out of me! James can sing! He did an excellent job. Lord Have Mercy that family is so beautiful! They might be even be just a little more talented than the Jacksons cause let's be real! The one who can sing and is the most talented of that family is The King 👑 Of Pop but it is a known fact that every DeBarge can sing their ass off. FACTS! 😀
And still in 2023 The DEBARGE FAMILY still reign. With all of their personal problems situations and struggles they are all still fine and standing tall. RESPECT to you all and REST EASY BOBBY AND TOMMY 💖 James you did a wonderful job. Madd Love ❣️🥰❤💯💯💯💯
How painful to watch them sing Bobby's song fresh from him passing away. Bless their hearts. You can see the pain on their faces, especially El's. James did a great job 💞
If u watch it again i think El walked off to cry, that was his big brother's song. Bobby Debarge from switch, his voice was everything. RIP Bobby Debarge
cocotreasure Yep! You can tell he was emotional during the whole performance. You can really see it in his eyes when he gets on the piano to play "All This Love"............
#1 Y'all be sleeping on James #2 Good Leaders step back and follow (b/c El was too choked up to sing thinking about the loss of his brother) #3 Did y'all hear that DeBarge Sound/Harmonizing at 6:19 on, 12:18 on . It's the DeBarges, Sylvers, Jacksons. It's time to recognize the DeBarges. BET Lifetime Achievement Award for 2017 (DeBarge including El) and Ultimate Icon Award for El DeBarge and Soul Train Legend Awards for 2017 (DeBarge and El). #4 Their outfits are on point tho'
Crystal Kinchen they were originally SWITCH! I was in high school when they had all these great songs and when I joined the military more then 37 yrs ago
El is a consummate professional about his and his family's music. If you watch carefully, he was singing and playing beautifully but in no shape emotionally to do that last song so handed it off to James. He wanted James out front to take that responsibility but he was still encouraging and his brothers and the band from where he was. He's a true professional. I will always love El.
So emotional and consumate professionals, El stepped back to wipe tears away missing his brother Bobby an James came right in and did his thing with Marty and I believe Randy.
OH IT'S HAPPENED OFTEN LOL !! Debarge family is sickly interchangeable....one show in their 80's heydey, El got sick so Bobby replaced him and the crowd didnt even know the difference :)
I am aware that Bobby,El & James sound alike but the only other time I have seen James out front was during one other concert where El was too torn up over Bobby's relatively raecent death at the time and could not perform " I Call Your Name.
lawrence worrell So true!- Just like on the songI like it"- It was Randy and El doing the main singing. Alot of people think it was El from beginning to end!- They're like the Clark sisters-Masters of interchanging voices!- So talented!
El wasn't pissed off with his brothers, he left the stage because he got emotional singing a song his late brother Bobby had originally done with the band switch
It hurts too bad for El to perform this song. All of the songs he sings from the group Switch reminds him too much of his brother Bobby, who sung lead.
Prayers up for this beautiful family!! I pray that God gives them the strength to stay strong. They have such special Gift. I hope they know we are standing with them!!
James is killing me. he is at the party inside the party...inside the party. He was having a good ol' time!! :0)... Abuse and drugs sure did a number on this family!!!
preciousbash ha ha....look again especially during I call your name...on the far left....it's Mark in his own party...the moves are all over the place....lmao
I think it was a mixture of him messing up the song and the song itself because the passing of bobby was still fresh at this time. If you watch James is trying to get El to sing the 2nd verse but El shoos him to continue and I think it was getting to him so he tried to speed it along but the band wasn't with him and I think he got embarrassed about being emotional and when so bad asked them to sing more he looked annoyed because he didn't want to it was to emotional for him
pound for pound, they were more talented than the jacksons. they just never had a father like papa joe to drill them through singing & dancing routines
When Bobby died you can tell it left a void in all their hearts. They have accepted he is dead but its difficult to move on for some. It is so hard to move on but if you dont the grief causes health problems which leads to death! I know how you guys feel I lost my mother to murder and my sister to grieving over my mother and dying. It left me the youngest all alone. So I get it!
He sure did. I just saw a comment that some man said James sounds terrible. It's taking everything in me not to curse him out. James went through hell as a child and I mean HELL! Just as Bobby. The first and eldest brother to pass away. For the record Bobby made James's life a living hell worse than Bobby's father made his I heard and know. I know a lot that went on with that family. Honestly I don't know how he was able to sing Bobby's song but he did a great job. God Bless him. If no else loves you I love you James. Why do you think he's on drugs so badly?! Honestly he's on it so bad I don't know how he's still alive but God has him here for a reason. GB 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙌🙌🙌🙌🙋🙋🙋💪💪💪💪❤❤❤❤💖💖💗💗💕💕💞💞
The story goes. Bobby came back home from Hollywoid after is big hit song with Switch, to Michigan in a chartered bus, by himself, to get his brothers and sister!!! I live that story❣
