"economy, cost of living, our MLM is different than all the bad ones," etc. etc. etc. I wish there was a way to know if these reps ever get tired of pushing the same narrative/the degree to which they believe the scam their pushing. It's endlessly fascinating.

They are the middle man lololol. When I go to Target or shop from Amazon, I can go to the product directly, buy and go. Unlike MLM, where you have to deal with the distributor that's it's probably going to harass you to join.

I throw up in my mouth a little every time I hear a boss babe talk about "pouring into" someone. Ewww...no!

My car insurance recently went up $30/a month. An MLM is not going to help me "fill the inflation gap." So much lies, misinformation, and delusion 🙁

i also never understand how they think they are coming off as relatable when they say "i bought this stuff hoping i would hate it" because never once have i ever bought any overpriced skincare hoping i would not like the product? like they say that to try and make themselves sound credible like ohhh i was an mlm hater too, but if you were then you wouldnt have even tried it in the first place like it makes 0 sense

She spends so much time saying "other MLMs are awful and ours is less awful so it means it's good and you should join". Like.... No. Drinking piss sucks less than eating shit, but I still wouldn't do it!

I'd much rather give my friend/family member the total value of the product they want to sell me. I'll "support" them, not the MLM owners, executives and upline. If they want to "feel" like it's a business fine - go find a $15 moisturiser at the supermarket and keep the rest.

The "European Standards" thing really grinds my gears because it doesn't mean anything about the safety or efficacy of a product. There are also things banned here that the EU uses, but they never seem to share that part. The standards/banned ingredients lists are by and large a product of political dealings and supply chain regulations, NOT because the EU just cares so much more about its people than the US. It's meaningless, deceptive, and I want it this talking point to disappear forever.

Imagine how grossly marked up the products are if they can give the contractor 50%, whatever piece to the up line & the company can profit enough to sustain running the business. It’s a scam to the people working for them && a scam for the customers. You’d probably get better quality makeup from ELF for a price point close to what their stuff is actually worth!!

Or the distributor is the middle man that a customer has to go through. For most product based mlms, a customer has to go through a distributor instead of going into a store or online and buying directly the products. Even the cost for buying from a store that sells a lot of different brand of products, is way cheaper than going through a distributor (either using their link, the distributor has to put in the payment info every time, or at the online checkout there has to at least be random distributor added before checkout). The distributors are getting paid from the higher cost of the products. So for the people being solely a customer, the distributor is the middle man and since they’re required for mlms, they end up making the prices higher as well.

Most big companies have at least one chemist. It really isnt that crazy to believe and also its not that impressive. You need someone who understands chemicals and materials to do make up. idk why more women arent interested in that side of cosmetics. The excuse the pro mlm people have for the high number of low earners is just ‘cause most of the people weren’t working the business. They were either signed up enough for the discount prices or they didn’t work hard enough. Which we all know isn’t true. The FTC should change the rules and make that every purchase from one of their distributors or coaches that goes towards that person’s monthly rank they’re trying to maintain or for them to rank up, should go in a separate list of product sales. That should be in the “employee” purchases for the year and there should be a separate amount for what people that are buying as a customer sales are for a year. That would clearly show that a mlm/the business model is a pyramid scheme under the current FTC definition of a pyramid scheme. That would seem to be the easiest way to shutdown all or most mlms. There would still be work in making that happen is having to audit all of these mlm companies to make sure that they’re doing this and doing it correctly. Though this just seems like an easier way to get proof of being a business model that gets most of the sales from the distributors or coaches if the company is selling a disposable/consumable product.

When it comes to skincare ingredients- more isn't better. Often lower concentrations are effective and less irrirant. Also, formulation matters.
