His emotional connection is way beyond his years. Besides his virtuosity, that is. It woul be hard to believe if you didn't actually see him with your own eyes. Bravo!
At first I was struck by his dramatic movements but quickly realized this young boy felt every note and expertly expressed every phrase driving me to tears! I’ve seen young performers and pianist do amazing things at very young ages but usually they’re missing one or the other aspects that only a mature seasoned musician can capture. This kid however is the real deal. He executes all of these skills effortlessly with his tiny hands in his pajamas like it’s as involuntary as breathing for you and me. Amazing and so beautiful
You are no longer my favorite child pianist any more. You're one of my favorite pianists of all time, of all age groups. Thank you and will always keep following your works.
He's a young boy with small hands, but the enormity of his talent in playing the piano is just very mind-blowing. This is a tough piece but he played it with so much ease. He has also displayed amazing emotional connection to this piece. Words are just not enough to describe how beautiful this is!
One of the great Debussy pieces played by an angel. The quality of my life has just been multiplied a hundred times fold knowing Jonah is making beautiful music for us.
Danke Jonah! ❤
There's playing an instrument and then there's playing an instrument with feeling. It makes SO much difference and he just demonstrated that. Absolutely brilliant and it will only get better. 👍👍
Oh my gosh this is superb.i have played this so very many times yet just listening to it bring played by this small child brings tears to my eyes and goose bumps I cannot believe it I feel as if it's a dream
I love his rendition/ interpretation of this. It is so casual and UN-indulgent. Often this piano piece is over-wrought with emotion and rubato. Jonah treats it as a rather simple Sunday afternoon salon piece and, as a result, strips it of century of cliches! 🤩😍
There's playing and there's playing... Jonah infuses feeling into every note he plays... This is a wondrous, uplifting, delicately played piece... Hard to believe that he's only 10 years old...
Playing the notes at this age is one thing, getting everything else perfectly spot on, is quite another. And to think that we used to make a big thing of Mozart when children this age perhaps younger and better, are coming out of the woodwork.
While I agree with you for the most part, there certainly is a massive difference between performing at such a high level and composing at a high level. The greats did both. We can only hope that once he is older he can compose to the level of his performance
@Mavka Umn, he's also composed music. Another thing that you have to take into account, is that any half decent pianists in Mozarts time were pretty much rock stars in their day. These days, you could have a literal Mozart and he wouldn't even be noticed. Dimash Kudaibergen is the greatest singer that the planet's ever seen, no question and yet he's almost unknown in the west. Diana Ankudinova is also pretty close to him It is rare for a singer to be able to sing in four octaves. Dimash can sing in eight with perfect control and despite being probably the planets greatest natural baritone, he holds the record for the highest sustained note ever sung in a concert by either a male or a female, a D8. Diana has a totally unique voice, she's a dynamic contralto which is very rare in itself but she also has a polyphonic ability. The below two videos from Dimash, is what I'm talking about ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-L7PML9UcKwE.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lFsB5HVnmSA.html Plus the below three, are from Diana when she was ELEVEN in the first video and fourteen in the following two videos. How many female singers have you seen already a star at fourteen but she's that good. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yBulmI-VFzY.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fEcvVINA304.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qSBXNJmdif8.html
He is just like my boy ‘S age. My boy also love to play piano freely, but all teacher want him to learn notes 🗒, he doesn’t like. I thought to remind him practice what teacher teaches . Now I change my mind, I should let him enjoy what he plays and feels what he plays! Just like this amazing young pianist 🎉thanks 👏❤today before I fall asleep, I got my treasure 🎉🙏
That was played so utterly beautifully…..Thankyou Jonah for lifting my heart and spirit with your exceptional playing. I watched you play aged just five, and didn’t think you could ever improve on the skill you showed us then, but now you become lost in the music, and at one with the piano. It’s amazing. Godbless you, and wishing you all success and most of all happiness in all you do in the future. 🙋♀️👏🏻🔥👏🏻🔥👏🏻🙏💐🦋🦋🦋
this kid is by far my favourite pianist. do not give up and keep playing the piano. just remember, you have fans and continue to enjoy music to have an even better future
He's absolutely transported by the music. He really feels it. I love this piece and he does it justice. Bravo, Jonah! I always remember in Frankie & Johnny when Al Pacino's character persuades a radio host to play an encore of this piece and he goes into this soliloquy.
Good day Mr. Ho, I have recently found you, by chance on RU-vid. Life has blessed you with a most wonderful gift. It his quite evident that you are a young genious. At 78 years young, I hope to enjoy your videos for a long time. God bless you young man.
Congratulations Jonah!! You have a wonderful gift. Enjoy it as much as those of us who listen to you enjoy doing it. You will go where very few pianists even dream of going.
HERMOSAS PIESAS MUSICALES !!! INTERPRETADAS POR ARTISTAS FANTASTICOS QUE LLEVAN LA MÚSICA EN SU ALMA.GRASIAS POR TRAER TANTA Belleza ,DIOS LOS BENDIGA !!!❤️❤️❤️
Wow!!! How old is Jonah now? His sound has matured so much! I no longer think "Wow this person plays amazingly well for a kid." Now I just think, "Wow this person plays amazingly well!" Bravo Jonah! Bravissimo!
Bravo Johan Ho !!! Greetings from Colombia, each video shows your growth in musical interpretation, congratulations and a prosperous future as a pianist
Debussy actually wrote three 'Clair De Lunes'. The idea is from a poem by Paul Verlaine in his collection entitled Fêtes Galantes, themselves inspired by the paintings of Jean-Antoine Watteau (1684-1721). Debussy set six of these poems to music, including this one, first in 1882, then again in 1891.
Jesus wept! You couldn't just comment in the fact that this kid just played the shit outta that piece, could ya? Just too in love with the sound of your own voice huh? There's always gotta be one though, doesn't there? One of those types who just can't bear to pass up an opportunity to show people how smart they think they are 'eh. Well I guess that's you in this case. Bet you start all your sentences with "Did you know..." don't you? Yeah you do...eeesh!
@@SweetBabyJesusOnTheCross Huh? Why do you have to be so mean, not everyone has to worship that child. I actually found his information interesting, and there's a difference between posting a comment with information and bragging, just like you wouldn't say the child isn't bragging when posting this video online. Jesus wept!
@@merlijnfolkerts3066 Whoa, woah, woah, hang on a second here. First off, I never said you had to worship the kid or that @JetTiu was bragging, so don't go putting words in my mouth. If you wanna call me out on shit then do it over something I ACTUALLY said. And second, who the fuck asked you to get involved in this? So why do you think it's ok to go sticking your beak in here, acting all White Knight and shit but think I shouldn't have made my original comment? That's pretty hypocritical of you. So next time, maybe you could make sure that your arguments don't rely on false info or you could just keep your fucking mouth shut. Up to you really. It's good to have choices!
This is my favourite piece of music of all time and Jonathan plays it just how I like it, slowly! Most play it too fast, but this was glorious, thank you.
When he was 5 i do love this genis kid who deeply pay so much emotion on music , now he has a bit grow up but he has pay concentread to his music very good not only genis pianist but he is musicist genis
