I enjoy the "All Aquarium Update - It's like being invited to your home and being taken on a personal tour! You make it a very pleasant half-hour holiday visit. Thank you for all these many years' of videos, it's a lot of work sharing your Bliss!
Whatever you choose for your own update schedule and life changes is always okay with us, man! I do love the All Aquarium Update videos, tbh this is usually my favorite thing on your channel, but I understand there's a lot that goes into the videos behind the scenes, and any amount of content you produce is worthwhile. Thanks for hanging in there! Love seeing the big ol Mr Teugs, too.
I used to watch aquarium videos all the time - when I had an aquarium. I stopped coming by after I decided to get out of the hobby. Out of all the aquarists I used to watch I always enjoyed your videos. I decided to check back and it is amazing to see how nice that big Fluval Flex tank is looking - those Anubias are huge. Now I want a tank again. I will try and stop by more often in 2024!
Your update videos are some of my favorites, so many people who make videos about this hobby are constantly setting up and tearing down, I enjoy following your tanks over time, the way I keep fish. If you decide not to do the all-tank round ups I'd personally just be keen to see regular updates on your tanks. Thanks for always producing great videos!
I know you're thinking about not doing the All Aquarium updates anymore but as a fan of yours for a couple of years now they are still my favorite videos you do. I'm looking forward to your future plans. Yep I agree Ithink the Spec 16 is due for a change. It was fantastic at one point but seems to have lost that ompfh it once had. Fluval 32 is my fav tank of yours, really cool anubias wall. I sit in front of my 32 all the time as well. 40g cube is beautiful as ever. Love your 10g next to your desk. What a cool view with all those crypts. That looks like a gold tetra to me. Try trimming pockets of light shafts through the crypts and when the light hits em you will see a sweet flash. For your 20g long algae issue, bring down your light intensity to counter your lack of CO2, weekly water changes for a bit and try scraping off what algae you can. Get more shrimp in there.
Lol, I only recently found you so I can't say I'll miss the updates (as I haven't yet watched them), but it's nice to see the re-dos of the tanks as they happen. Maintenance is surprisingly fun. Never thought I'd say that...
Hey Sean! I think it's good you do an annual or twice-a-year overview with all that you got what you keep how to or the future this way we can all see your progress what worked what not etc. Not many people do it like you when you set it up and once cycled then just put the fish in feed them enjoy them with the least amount of maintenance and just let them mature. Like once a month trimming or biweekly some water changes and just wiping the glass clean. Those are the nuisance that people hate. That is why many keep changing it breaking it down and setting it up differently. This is why you and I are the real aquarists. Others are just fishkeepers like Joey or fish breeders/sellers like Rachel. Cory is business. Yeah like the old man "father fishes". We are pros but in a humble ordinary folks way, unlike the real pros like in Green Aqua those fancy builds and tanks etc. So there are categories and what's people's preferences. I like yours cause my take is like your approach. There are dozens of aquaristic styles and approaches to this hobby. Also, it's very expensive nowadays so staying with a certain budget and not going overboard cause those things and the cutting corners can run you up and before you know it you give it up a few years later, back again and given another shot then again cause remembering the maintenance then this and that and again give up and many years later when you matured up as a nice fish tank then you get a couple of tanks but by then you know what to do and what not. Or you just have a sour mouth and say all the work the money and BS. But with patience and if you follow and understand how nature works then instead of 80% work and 20% joy can be turned around. The best example is the "Steampunk" tank. So thanks for the update I think you should keep doing it so others like me can follow how your system works. Merry Christmas to you and your family (wife and daughter) Sean and a Happy New Year, even to your sister too! See you next year! 👍🍾🍷🍸🍹🥂🎄🦃🎅
As a wise man often tells me "Follow your bliss"! If you don't want to do all aquarium tours anymore, don't do them! We'll still be here watching your videos.
Hi Sean hope you and the family are doing well. We met briefly at the last Big Fish Deal. I had some aquarium disasters and just let kept up with routine maintenance. I just started fixing aquascapes gone wild. I’ve noticed a few of my favorite aquatic youtubers have stopped doing this. I’m glad you are still doing this. Looking forward to seeing what you do next.
Thanks for stopping by! Although my uploads are somewhat infrequent I’m still thinking of videos to make. I’ve been either sick or busy all through January but I’ll be back soon.
Do whatever it takes to keep yourself motivated to keep making videos. I primarily love following your undergravel adventures. I have a bunch of "anoxic" tanks myself, but I've been too scared to stop water changing them so I still keep doing it every 2 weeks. I wonder if you'll ever stop water changing yours.
Thank you for the update on everything. I really have enjoyed these all tank/enclosure updates over the years but understand that you need to change it up! Happy new year. Interested to see what you decide to do.
I'll be so disappointed not to see end of the year tank updates. I look forward to them every year, but you do what you need to do to follow your bliss with your channel and keep yourself from getting burned out. Happy Holidays, Sean. 👍❤️👍
I have been watching your channel for years and have gained so much knowledge from you. The format is great and hope you don't change too much. You keep it real for the novice to the advanced aquarist. Happy Holidays!
I definitely love the all aquarium update, but that's just because I love watching your content in general. I say you should do whatever allows you do have fun, make content, and enjoy the process. If it means not seeing an all aquarium update but seeing more specialized updates only when things are notable, then that's fine by me. If it means you breaking down some tanks to make upkeep and maintenance easier and doing some more collaborative content with other creators, also totally fine! Excited to see regardless of what direction you end up going in!
I’ve been in the business for so many years I pay my beauty school working in a pet shop and I do love your set up everything so nice and clean. I love to watch your channel. Thank you for sharing.😊
I don't mind what vids you want to make.... As long as you want to do it and you're feeling up to it. Love your content and the journey you share with us.
They all look awesome Sir! I enjoy these tank update videos from all fishtubers, shows the good and bad stuff usually, gives neat ideas etc. Now I want a terrarium 🥴 What's the board game channel? Would like to check it out. I've used plant ferts in the past, but seems if stock to plants ratio is good you are usually good 🤷 haven't bought but the one big bottle. I've also post-father fish manic viewing, dumped sand right on top of my aquasoiled 10 and 20 gals 😂 pretty mixed up now, guess i didn't get to 2 inch coverage across the full surface, or baby bristlenose plecos I throw in them occasionally are the culprit and downfall of this method lol.
I like your tank updates. But you do not have to do them all it once if one at a time is easier for you. Yes, make that little tank a paludarium tank. That sounds like fun.
I’d love to hear an update about your thoughts on anoxic filters and plenums after you set up several tanks with them a while ago! Seems like you’re not super impressed?
I use a lot of glass just because it’s a bit easier to get shaped the way I want there’s a plastic that’s very rigid and doesn’t flex and is very transparent but I’m not very good at working with it yet. I did manage to cut one for the no filter tank I’ll be experimenting more with it this year.
You should post the video link of your Anoxic filter tank to Kevin Novak and let him know this type of Anoxic Filter is a failure recommendation. I too did try 3 times setup this type filter tank and give up due to is like keeping a tickling bomb waiting to explode anytime. 3 times fail with a lot of algae especially BGA
The anoxic tank ran perfectly up until about three or four months ago. But again I don’t follow everything that he says to do is still just a mix of some of his ideas and some of my ideas so it’s hard to say. I guess all in all I was never 100% all in on anybody’s ideas alone. Mostly I include a Plenum and set the plants up to filter. Best I can.
I've also been experimenting with the slow-moving plenums recommend by Dr. Novak. Does seem to be working well so far. But I'm not sure about the BCB bags in a canister filter also working to create an anoxic environment. Are you doing any of those? And do they seem to help?
I tried a basket in my pond and made mini ones but I did it all very unscientifically. So I didn’t see anything remarkable out of what I did. The pond one should have worked but didn’t ultimately move the needle.
@@pecktecYes. To me, the BCB bags are a bit inconclusive as of yet. But I think a deep substrate with a slow-moving plenum is actually a different thing, which can be helpful regardless if we have true anoxic conditions going on inside the aquarium or not. That's what I'm doing for my next aquarium build.
My tanks with the Plenum seem clearer it’s important to combine it with thick substrate. If you’re gonna do plants, I still think my plants are doing most of the work, but the combination seems to help.
I like the new haircut !!!! of course my advice would be never cut your hair or shave again... I like your channel, but if you want to know what I like best, I like in depth looks into single tanks, 10 to 15 minutes long. I like new aquascape videos [ie] watching you create a new scape from start to fish in it . I do not particularly care for reviews of gear or products...if its something im considering buying I appreciate them more... but honestly I've been keeping fish since 84 steadily, I'm not usually watching to learn something new about fish keeping , im watching because I enjoy seeing other people aquariums and the people I am subbed to are good kind animal loving folks ....being entertaining helps. just do your thing, I'll keep watching , and occasionally commenting.
