I have always been a creative person. But creativity takes many forms. I started this channel to showcase my varied interests. Now after a few years my channel has grow tremendously. Although the channel will always be primarily for fish keepers I will always have a surprise in store for you with music, steampunk cosplay, convention coverage, and games (coming soon).
Have you got any idea what the semi cutout square at the back left hand side is for, looks like you can cut it out and put a plant in but I'm not to sure, thanks
How do you stop the filter pump from buzzing, because it's really annoying, I haven't done anything with it it's how it came out of the box but I've tried to stop it but nothing seems to work, great tank but to loud 😭😭
I ended up swapping my pump for this one a few times. Not because it was buzzing but I know that happens sometimes. One trick I've done before is to shorten the tube it pumps out with so it hangs from it. this keeps it from vibrating along the bottom.
@@pecktec that's a brilliant and simple idea because now you've said that it's probably vibrating on the bottom I thought it was the sides that were making the noise,, thanks so much for your help take care 🙏.
I bought this tank for a rescue betta. Definitely too powerful of a current for bettas. I cut a corner off an aquarium sponge removed the ball joint part and shoved it in. Its perfect now
I have a decent amount of experience with anubias. If you want a higher rate of return, take the rhizome out of the water, cut the rhyzome into 1-2 cm pieces and plant the rhyzome on top of soil. Make sure its in a moist environment + light.. in a few months, you will have 10s to 100s of anubias (depending on how many pieces you cut your rhyzome into. I'll link to my short video. I had a over 95% success rate on this method of propagation.
I'm currently trying to do this with bucephalandra (just started an experiment yesterday), I will upload a video later today, and will likely upload videos on the progress of the buce.
Hi the largest flex we can get in the UK is the 123l I would love one of these do you know anywhere I can buy the mega that will ship to the UK thanks.
Hi Pecktec, I tried to build a small BCB for a canister filter based on the videos of Dr N using a plastic box I made from a ice cream container. There was no improvement or any change (positive or negative) despite trying to adjust a few times. I went back to the videos and determined that the flow of the canister pump was much too fast. I could not turn down the pump volume or get a canister with a weak pump. I have designed a small PLENUM embedded in a sump filter using a plastic tub. Busy building it at the moment. I managed to get a small pump from TEMU and hopefully that would make the BCB work as it should.
No YT has an audio library. I do spend a long time looking for music that’s ok to listen to there’s not much to pick from. But it keeps me from getting dinged for copy write stuff.
Low-tech tank? I'd say no tech tank. I wonder what you call dirt? Maybe all the plant debris! Cause all I saw was it had white sand in as soil. But also shows good quality light and water all you need to have a green lush natural almost like a biotope planted tank. Congrats Sean many people want like that but get overrun by algae and it's over. This is amazing how healthy and balanced was the whole thing. 👍
@@pecktec Oh, hidden dirt! lol. My dirt well, my daughter cleans every week so I'm lacking dirt and I have a clean TV I guess. But I like this way cause all nutrients dissolve very slowly so it doesn't create algae bloom. Sand eh? I will try it like you did! Have a happy 4th of July Sean and to your family too!
Would love to get all those plants you pulled out. Would you want to meet me at the aquarium on papermill this weekend, say Saturday? Why ask cause I need some plants for my nano Iwagumi aquarium
That Green Light On The Transformer Has NOTHING Whatsoever To Do With The Functioning Of The U-V Bulb. I Know That For A Fact Because That Green Light Comes On When The Transformer Is Plugged In...EVEN If The U-V Light Itself IS NOT Plugged Into The Transformer. At Best, All That Green Light Signifies Is That The Transformer Is Plugged In...But It Has NOTHING To Do With How The U-V Light Is Functioning...Or Even If The U-V Light Is Functioning At All. Fluval Needs To Update Their Description Of The Purpose Of That Green Light With Some Accurate...And Honest...Information.
I wonder what caused your crypto parva stop growing, your substrate seems ideal I am thinking maybe the light is not too strong? I've been growing crypto parva in my tank under high light and co2 so maybe crypto parva is not a low demanding type of crypto? Hopefully with the new substrate and new plants they improve, they are definitely slow growers.
Very nice! I’m about to finish year 3 with my Mega Flex! Been wanting to replace the substrate and redo the foliage as well. I’ve added a second light bar and have a Siesta programed. I almost removed the back filter chamber and considered a HOB, but haven’t yet.
I thought about removing it too. Maybe add a canister I don’t like hobs much. But I like being able to service it easily. And being able to swap one sponge a a time is nice.
