I love how the game makes you hear this in the tutorial, and once you get off the plateau you get to hear the full version of it when a guardian stalker sees you. That creates this sense of “oh shit, why is the music more intense now?” And then you turn around and see this giant robotic spider running at you at mach 3 with its laser already on you.

I remember the first time I saw that decayed Guardian in the tutorial. I was thinking to myself "wow at least they made the last shrine easy to get to. I don't need special food and i dont need to climb a lot!". Then I got close to the Eastern Abbey area and when I tried walking through, one of those things came alive and I was like "oh wtf i guess its some sort of stationary enemy, I'll just go around it." So then I went to the North side of the Abbey and there was another Decayed Guardian there and so I was like "whatever I'll just kill it" and I hit it with my crappy starter weapon and the red health bar didnt go down like AT ALL and it looked over at me and it turned on its laser. I started panicking and hit it a few more times and nothing was happening and its laser kept beeping on me so i tried to turn around and sprint back to cover and it sped up and fired at me and i died instantly 😭😭

When I first saw a guardian stalker I was thankfully on horse back and I was getting chased for 2 minutes strait

I love how repetitive this version is, it still manages to be intense but also reinforces the feeling that something isn’t working properly

i didn't have my headphones on when i was playing the game and a guardian saw me and i didn't know it so i decided i wanted to hear the game so when i plugged them in i heard the music and literally jumped out of my chair

it’s a very nice detail how this has a slower bpm than the original and a piano that sounds off. also the jingle of the upbeat is reminiscent of some “systems critical” sfx

I still have this one memory. so I was like, 10, and I was playing breath of the wild, I had been on the great plateau for at least a month at this point, I had every shrine on the plateau aside from the bombs shrine, the reason was simple, the guardians, I was terrified of these things, and they were the only things keeping me from getting to the shrine. I think a few days after christmas I asked my mom to help me get to the shrine, and she walked on top of the ruin walls to get to it, I was so happy to get off the plateau.
