this is just beginning. there are a lot wonderful things with Dimash's songs that you can't expect at all. this song shows just thumbnail of his talent
You had the same reaction that most of us had when first viewing him! I highly recommend you reacting to Dimash's other songs from that show. He is a really gifted singer with a range like no other. He can sing opera but he considers himself a pop singer.
This was actually the first performance for the China competition's new season of The Singer 2017 [which was why the crowd was excited for it to start at the beginning] -- but what is often overlooked is that he was pretty much a complete unknown to that audience [he's from Kazakhstan and doesn't speak any Chinese] , and least expected or anticipated to do much since he was pretty much unknown to the audience [which is why he was placed to go first -- the most anticipated singers were set to perform last on that episode]. This was the first time the China audience and other performers in the back room on the show heard him sing. Between his first performance ["S.O.S." in French] and his 2nd performance [Vita's "Opera 2" in Russian], he quickly won their hearts completely.
This is the voice of the whole universe. I would like him to write the hymn of the world. Where would be a mixt from the word Peace in different languages. Let him enter the History of the World for those who want Peace.

He sings phonetically so he lacks clarity in some passages because of his pronunciation, it takes nothing away from his wonderful abilities though. He is classically trained but what really makes him special is how he blends so many different techniques and singing styles into his covers and completely flips it until its his own. Rock, RnB, pop,opera etc he does it all. You should really do "opera 2" next. Its his signature performance from the show and mind blowing! It gives you a taste of what he can do with his insane 6 octaves.

If you don’t yet, Dimash is from Kazakhstan so he’s not “Chinese” but he’s participating in this Chinese 2017 singing competition called the Singer. He’ll be 24 yrs old in May, hes 6’3” tall. Both his parents are prominent cultural figures in Kazakhstan. He has been singing, learning to play numerous instruments, since age 2, and he has a song in this competition that he wrote and composed himself!
This is The Singer 2017. A competion for a professional singer was held in China. D (Dimash) was invited as a black horse, coz he's from Kazakhstan. And no one know him in China. Ku-dai-ber-ge-nov. Ge like go. I've told you, you won't regret it.

Just outright fabulous, best voice ever. Its almost funny now but this one video of Dimash makes me cry every time I watch it, just not possible for me to watch this without getting super emotional, interesting phenomena bearing in mind I am a 50 year old male !!. No other music or video I have ever seen has this effect - amazing stuff - could be my age - LOL
outstanding but trust me the opera-like singing just doesn't suits this song. it's all about feelings and not isn't about who as the best voice. but as a french nobody can sang this song after Daniel Balavoine (this song was written for him) he left his stamp on many francophone hearts ;).
