25:45 “Oop, placed a berry.” 34:35 “Berry bush? I don't know if that berry bush was always there. I'll be honest. That might've been a cheaty berry bush.” Subtle!
I guess then it's no use to suggest you try to remember where you encountered ravagers on your way in. A lot of your deaths were because you took the same path out as you took coming in even when your path going in was already dangerous, because you had to run from a/multiple ravager(s)... e.g. the ravager killing you in the beginning of the spider area: you ran in that way with the ravager following you. So when coming back out you should have known that a ravager will await you on the entrance side of the spider area. In any case: I love watching your runs! I just think you could be so much more successful if you manage to remember more things and try to not rush. Harder done than said though, I know.
Gem: Me and the dungeon had a talk and it does gove me keys now The Dungeon hearing etho chant “Gem is great” every time he enters, finally recognizes it as well 🤣
I love how Gem Accidentally places a berry bush during one run and in the next she just happens to find a new very bush she feels like wasn't there before
She lined it up on the block diagonally before the dreapleaf, sprinted and jumped at the latest moment. Perfect and confident execution. Love to see it.
Paused the video to make this comment only to find someone else already did. She pulled this off so casually and then didn't mention it despite the fact that most of the hermits no longer even attempt the jump and assume it's impossible.
I am sorry but that willie snipe at the beginning was beautiful, just everything leading up to that point with the ravengers and then willy sniping you the second you took a breather was some of the most glorious misfortune i have witnessed this game.
it's a severe mistake to do zero deadly runs and get practically no level 3 experience. once tango updates level 3 to be harder, chances of gem managing to beat it soon is probably slim to none at this rate.
you should play the game how you want to play it, and to try new things that will work for you! People telling you to play in a certain way because another hermit plays it that way, doesn’t understand that everyone has their own play style and what works or doesn’t work for them. It’s fun to watch the different ways all of the hermits are playing keep up the good work and find your own way in all of this!
Gem big tip for you if you are gonna run several times in a row, use the first run to organize the ravagers into the best spots. then the rest of the runs use the same path that avoids them. Grian and Etho both did this very successfully in phase 4.
You can only do this if you are awake when others arent, people are usually running when I'm on and I don't want to waste a run to have someone immediately join the Q. Etho plays at a ridiculously late hours usually heh, my timezone is in the middle of everyones
@@GeminiTwo, adding to all your bad luck in the dungeon, you have bad luck even in the available time 🙁 I'm rooting for you Gem, you are one of my favourites.
Pro tip: A single berry can regen an entire heart if you wait long enough. You do have to have somewhere around 8.5 and 9.5 haunches when you eat the berry, though
One tip gem, don’t listen to the comments too much, no one from the comment section actually played decked out, so … you better just trust your instincts 😉 love your runs! No matter if you lose or win! 😊 and love to see you progressing learn as you go, you are doing really great!
For the record, you are (for me) the MOST entertaining and enjoyable player to watch do DO runs, and that's the case even when you're only doing Mediums. Do I particularly enjoy when you do harder runs? Absolutely! But I'd still watch all your videos even if the rest of the phases you stayed on Level 1. You narrate in a way that really helps us understand where your head is at and why you're making the choices you make, but is still not distracting from the overall gameplay. So when I watch your runs, I feel like I'm playing along with you! It's really entertaining and enjoyable. Don't forget - the reason we watch your videos isn't to watch you being "the best decked out player" - it's because YOU are fun to watch, so you make whatever you're doing fun to watch. (Decked Out being incredibly fun on its own is just the cherry on top.)
Thanks for the great compilation Gem. You did really well. Congrats on 3rd place. Also well done on thr very Etho thumbnail (just a screenshot, no log or text etc)
Glad to see someone finally complete the depth charge drop. I really think it should have a better reward at the bottom though, given how risky it is to swim down.
Gem probably gets pricked by the berry bush at least 50% of the time she picks her berries. If she's not careful, she's going to die from a berry bush like Tango did one time. Lol
Tango should put a key for lvl 2 and 3 in the barrel in the dive spot. It’s hard to get to and hard to get back from so it’s balanced. And then you don’t have to have a jump boost card to prop for a guaranteed key
Gem, here is your super positive non critical comment! Thanks for sharing your play time with us. I guess critiquing does increase the number of comments at least.
Loved the runs. I don’t care what strategies a Hermit uses-the runs are always great whatever they do. Farming, speedrunning, exploring…there’s always an element of danger and plenty of jumpscares. Tango really is a genius game builder- redstone genius aside, the map design and balancing was so good for a game this size and complexity. Hope you have a blast in Vegas!!
If you are committing to medium treasure farming runs, you should definitely do the TNT dive as often as possible, you made it look so easy! You're a lot more comfortable surviving on level 1 now, and it would let you bypass the treasure limit as well. I think Tango should put a guaranteed/high chance of a key in there as well though, although his "buy a key" system will probably work well too.
Wow, so many good movies recently, with incredible scenarios, awesome actors and many laughs. Hermitcraft Studios are about to change the cinema industry! (Ngl I literally have food and drink while watching all of HC people's videos, not popcorn but I do with what I can ^^)
Me too, these HC movies are my meal time entertainment every day. I feel like HC might be one of the best content creating communities that exists right now. Nothing controversial, always good vibes, it's really nice to see.
these are my dinner movies LOL my roommates and i don't want human interaction when we first get home, so its not until after dinner and a bit of rest that we actually hang out. so these have been great for me.
Someone mentioned on Reddit or somewhere that even if Etho completely skips this phase, he is still going to be first overall, as he is at 20 points, and I think Cub is at 12, and the maximum number of points given to the phase winner is 6 points. Hypno called it at the start of phase 4 that Etho will just get 20 tomes, to which Etho replied "No, this is going to be a deck building phase" and casually gets 20 tomes 😂😂
It so hard not to rage quit when you have bad rng, but yeah cheesing medium is good to keep from letting the bad luck kill your mental game. I love you dungeon runs. Indeed Gem is Great!
Nothing wrong with doing farming. If you are going to, make sure you have at least 3 clank block before you pick up the artifact. Keeps your heartbeat down so you can farm longer. Love your positivity!
The main reason to go down further is to train to get to the lower levels. Grian was doing consistent deadly runs and consistently getting 40ish embers out of them. Those who go down there get more and more confident and will eventually leave people in the dust. Because it’s not really possible to get an excessive amount of embers just on level 1 like that. Maybe farming a mix of level 1 and 2. But to be honest surviving on Level 3 is easier than Level 2 so you might as well just go all the way down there. But again, us giving you advice just threw you off. So feel free to entirely ignore this.
unfortunately in phase 5 level three won't be easier than level two anymore because according to tango he's adjusted it to be a looottt harder (he said maybe even too hard) D:
Getting to level 3 in a timely fashion though is no joke. Being successful in level 3 runs kind of requires a good level of comfort with level 2 and a big enough deck to not run out of cards. Grian's level 3 runs were practically a fluke (I don't want to diminish his skill, but he did get absurdly lucky) and shouldn't be taken as the norm. Hypno has tried a lot of level 3 without having a great deck and being super comfortable with level 2 yet and it has taken its toll. Once comfortable with level 2, absolutely level 3 is worth it. But people are really underhyping what it takes to even get that deep, let alone come back alive or with decent loot and whatnot.
@@StuffandThings_ Oh yeah. I was more indicating that you need to continue upping the level so you get training on the lower levels so you can go down further. Just doing Medium you don’t get trained to do Level 2 and 3 well so you can never progress further.
Tragic that gem decides that next phase will be the phase she goes to level three, just as tango cranked the difficulty way way higher than it already was. At this point I’d say maybe wait until phase 6 for level three so he can tone it back down to a more balanced level 😅 loved watching the runs this phase even if it was kinda wonky with the luck 😊
The best way to learn is by doing; anyone in the comments offering 'what you should do' is just armchair theorizing, because none of us have actually played the game. Your instincts on gameplay are always gonna be more accurate. And you're doing awesome anyways! (My armchair-ing is that your bad key luck taught you how to survive while waiting for keys to finally show up, which is a helpful and practical skill and worth celebratin'.)
Going deeper does give better artifacts! Cleo's is one of the best ones on floor 1, but one of the worst on floor 2. Don't worry about pushing deadly, Tango made it easier than he had hoped, so I think phase 5 he will make it quite tough in the mines. I had an awesome time watching! Gem is great and thanks for the movie!
Around 1:38:01 you talk about how going to level 2 might not be worth it. The reason what you got was about the same as what you got on level two is because the ember amounts overlap. the highest in level 1 is around the lowest in level 2. so if you are lucky in level 1 then it would be the same as if you went to level 2. but if you are going to level two and get unlucky and get low embers it wouldve been the high end of level 1. So for the most part it is better to go hard mode over easy just cause the scale is higher there. You did great Gem! I wish you the best of luck in future runs!
I’m sure someone had already said it better than I will, but as far as I’m aware the higher the difficulty, the better the likelihood you will receive a compass that drops higher-ember valued artifacts. The further, or less accessible compass locations (like in the cove behind willies ship) will usually signify a higher chance of getting great artifacts. Location is super close to a door? Low embers, etc.
Gem your doing great! Learn the spots you can pull revengers and ditch the nerds behind pillars or in the mushrooms, you do well getting around and making it down to the door on lvl 2, so do deadlys it's always lvl 3 and on lvl 3 sneak the whole time and even if the warden is close like same hall or room you can still sneak away, remember that eating, opening doors, taking damage, and picking up or dropping items makes sound... I think you will do well with deadly don't sweat the confidence or a bad luck run keep pushing the higher difficulty it can and will pay off.
OK, I'm here in comments after e runs. A few Ravager run-ins either caused by trying to rush past them or a lack in confidence to bring the back and loop them. Fingers crossed for the rest of the runs. Gem is great!
You got a key but the game is it to get used to those ravens are paid well I guess according to him you were just passed him at the door even though they were trying to block you you are my favorite RU-vidr good luck and keep up the good work
Hey gem i think youre doing great also your plan to do your own thing is probably for the best idk about you but slowly figuring out stuff for myself usaly gets me further than tying to follow some other peoples help because i end missing out on what im good at and focus too much on the ideas i was given and end up doing worse
if getting your artifact causes 4 clank then you should wait until you have atleast 4 clank blocks ready so it wont increase your heartbeat. you could farm longer that way.
I just have to say, having watched the first hour, it's mostly not luck. Gem was actually very lucky on numerous occasions. Would attribute failed runs to carelessness.
You tend to play a little fast, so my suggestion was going to be actually removing some of the common cards like ember seeker so you get to your uncommons faster and generate the clank block when you actually need it. And then I see your trade with xB does exactly that xD. Gl next phase! Not every phase is fantastic
