Check into the piriformis and piriformis syndrome, though it could be something else kind of similar like a different pinched nerve or something with the SI joint.

I have 2 herniated discs I injured 3 years ago. 9 months of physical therapy and I’ve been great for the most part for a couple of years. Just had my first spasm in over a year and barely did anything. This is great! Like a mobile inversion table! Thank you!
Amazing exercise to alleviate back pain and bulging disc. As opposed to trying to lay face down on the floor, and push up with your hands- sometimes it’s painful to get on the floor and lay flat face down Hence this exercise works better for some of us- thank you
I’ve been waking up with back pain every morning for the last 2 years. This stretch is quick and effective. As someone who doesn’t have a lot of time to do routine 30 minutes stretch, this appears to work even better. I tired this for the first time and it definitely relieved majority of the pressure. This worked great, took away most of the pain - But if I sit down for a while and then stand up, that pain is there again, and I have to do the exercise again. Thank you so much Doc :)
Omg its working... I pulled my back today and this exercise is relieving the pain more and more i do it. It's not 100% gone but i can move a bit more freely... Thank you so much
Tell your boyfriend or small brother to climb on your back while your are laying on the ground nothing beats it and don't take too much weight on your back
If you have a pull up bar you can do this same thing by hanging from the bar, while letting your lower back slowly fall. You can do it with your feet on the ground or all the way up to a full hang. Some people use inversion tables/chairs as well.
I recently hurt my lower back, the lumbar section, and I was doing physical therapy because it's work-related but they're slacking on giving me more physical therapy so I do my own. Heating pads help but then also stretch but don't do it too fast.
Omg that’s exactly what I do to decompress and I’ll feel and hear a pop in my lower back! A lot of these stretches came from desperation for me lol. Glad to know they’re official!
I'm only 24! I was washing the dishes and I was standing for a long time, and suddenly my back locked up when I was beginning to walk away. I was trying hard to not fall, because my back was so stiff and it was painful just to make it to my bed which is a few feet away. I've been crying in pain for the past 30 minutes and I can't move at all but I came across this video and managed to stand back up to try it. My back is still in pain but I can definitely stand up and sit down now I have a lot more motion! Thank you!!!
Thank you this saved me today ! I couldn’t even walk at the gym when a sudden spasm came on after lifting! This stretch was perfect to at least get me moving again. 🎉

I should really be a physical therapist because I do so much self stretching and exercises I see videos of the same thing. I just do what feels right to me. If you know your body then you know what to do to make yourself feel good.

I do this all the time. I find the ledge of a kitchen sink is the best height to do this, at least for myself. I pull myself away from the ledge and my back will pop and this move helps so much. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
