Clem Burke is an underrated drummer. Really enjoy listening to his work, especially on a song like this, where the drum tracks were all done separately part by part.
@@TheMusicalElitist That may be true. I just know that whenever I hear people talk about the great drummers in music, whether it's a list from music experts or fans, you don't usually see Clem Burke's name mentioned. That makes him underrated, in my opinion.
_oh my fuck that synth is an eargasm!_ they coulda just run that with debbies vocals & it _still_ woulda been a smash. damn i miss the 70s/80s! (& thank you for the sample 😜... this is a clean one with a lot of parts i dont already have)
Listening to this reminds you that all the technical skill in the world won’t help you come up with something as beautiful as these guitar lines. They’re so minimalist and understated, almost like an afterthought, but so sad, soulful and full of nostalgia, even at the time they were written, much less what it does to me listening to it now.
I can't tell you how incredibly useful this is. As a musician, there's a sea of tabs, chords, and people's general "interpretation" of what's being played. Distinguishing what's in the mix from the individual instruments, versus which are just bleed through elements of the other instruments and sounds; is very difficult. For a musician with a good ear, this clears that right up. It gives you the ability to pick and choose the right variations, approximations and "creative interpretations" that flood the internet, and faithfully reproduce the original sound. Which if done correctly (presumably in a live setting) rekindles the love for an old song, or better yet drives new interest to an artist they may have never heard of before. Thank you!
I cant realy express how thankful i am you posted this (one of my favorite)song of mine as a" tracked down" version: so inspiring: wished, it is available on vinyl, i would create a different remix for the dancefloor! :-)
Suspect Stein's trebly single note guitar part is presented here in with synth section (where he's doubling a synth part). He talks about it in his just released book, having to stop start record to keep the roland space echo he was playing through in time with track
@@alexandrabee Let me know if you need anything from Guitar Hero III, GH:WT or GH:Metallica. The files are visible on a hacked console but are in a weird format which I don't know how to convert, or if they need to be converted.
Fucking Brilliant! Love it! I’m a drummer, and I’ve long suspected some of these rhythms, but it was hard to tell tell exactly through the layers. Did you access original tracks,or did you run this through a program that does this?
this is great.. Ive been after a clean loop sample of the roland intro to this song for years... dont suppose you have one handy do you? Great work thank you
Awesome videos! Can you do the song Help! By the beatles, I don’t know if your taking song recommendations or not but I just chose my favorite song lol
Someone already made one for Help! here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5NgI2UnAgbU.html but honestly I'm not very happy with his result so sure, I might do Help.
The bass parts sound abhorrently untight. I always thought this song was tight as hell, but I guess it must have come from the drums and the synthesizers. As the echoes of the synthesizers must be set to a metronome, I suppose, there must have been some stability of the tempo added to the mixture.
That's common with isolated bass tracks, not always on time and sometimes even terrible tone, for example can't stop by RHCP, the tone of of the bass is just atrocious
I heard that too but what stands out is the guitar tone, very sharp and shrill. And yet it works in the context of the mix. I love that many of the iconic guitar parts sounded cheap as hell, in contrast with the prevailing movement on YT and social media generally towards "expensive" gear and "creamy" tones.
@@alexandrabee The producer, Chapman was he called? Took a leaf out of the Bee Gee's book and make the drums more fluid, disco style. I met Clem Burke at his gig in Leeds but i didn't mention that as he denies that story....😆
