Your hair looks GORGEOUS! I love it! Great color! One of my favorite books is North and South. I read it years ago and then watched the movie. Believe it or not, I enjoy the film's ending more than the book ending but both are awesome. Persuasion feels like a Fall book. It's one of my favorites.
Thank you! I'm loving the color. And I'm really excited to finally read North and South. I'm so familiar with the movie, I'm sure I'll notice a lot of differences. And yes, Persuasion feels like an autumn/winter book to me. Whereas some of her other novels feel more like spring or summer reads.
Yay for Fall! Woo hoo! That is a beautiful copy of Persuasion. Which company published that version? I'm assuming they have all of her books in that version, Emma is on my list to read this fall, and I still do classics in physical books. :) The Lovelight Farms series by BK Borison is also on my fall/winter TBR this year. It sounds so good. I cannot pass up a series set on a Christmas tree farm. Have you read her before? I've heard such good things.
I haven't read BK Borison, but her books are on my general TBR list/saved list on the library. I might have to read her this year. And the copy of Persuasion I have is a Chiltern Classics Edition. I think Waterstones and Blackwells do international shipping, so if you can't find it from a US bookseller, you could look at one of those. I found the Chiltern Edition of Emma on Waterstones' site and omg the cover is gorgeous! Here's the link if you want to see. www.waterstones.com/book/emma/jane-austen/9781912714261
Yes to a book collection/ organisation tour! And yes to all the books on Your tbr list. The Icelandic novel seems interesting. But the top two - just yum.
🍂🍁🕯I loved seeing you get set up for fall. I've been so ready for it and also consider September 1st the first day of fall. I have a giant list of things I want to do over the next couple of months.
Physical media is so important. I'm so glad I didn't jump on the bandwagon of "decluttering" all my physical stuff when digital media and streaming started to take off. I need a better way of organizing my CDs and DVDs and I might get rid of ones I don't listen to or watch as much but my favorites I'll never get rid of. I really want to get one of those replicas of vintage record players that also have CD, cassette, radio, and bluetooth capability built in.
🍁📙🌰🕯Do my eyes deceive me or was that Jorvik the Squirrel on the couch, Andrea? He looks like he always belonged on your couch and not like he just arrived from York a few months ago :) Love the new hair colour! I'm actually growing my hair out but due to curly hair shrinkage it will take a WHILE before it's my desirable length. If I pull it out, it hits the middle of my shoulder blade but if I let it go and bounces back, it brushes my shoulder :( I'm hoping by Christmas, it's grown out significantly :D Even though I live in the tropics, my fave season when I travel to Canada or the USA is definitely autumn: The jeweled tones of the leaves, the crisp air, hot chocolate by the fire, those cute jackets and scarves! I love me some cosy, autumnal vibes! And yes, Christmas is my fave season also :)
I've been hearing good things about The Spellshop, I might have to add that to my list. And omg I loved the Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches. I read it last year. It wasn't quite what I was expecting based on what I'd heard about it but I still loved it.
why don't you organise the bookshelves (whenever you get round to it) seasonally? as that's how you read (and watch movies too I assume)? so have one shelf each for spring/summer/fall/winter. you could make a spreadsheet or something that allows you to search for a book or film and find out which season you put it in too if you wanted it to be super easy to navigate! 🍂☕📚
